Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
What original chapter? From what I've read up on it in the past 5 minutes, it seems this is just a doujinshi chapter based on the novel.

The original chapter of the Light Novel was written by the author himself as part of the narrative, it just got deleted from the commercial release. e.g. its popular because Kirito canonically has graphic unprotected sex with Asuna in the game, complete with explanation of how they accomplished doing so.

If you actually watch the anime or read the light novel, its fairly obvious that they have sex at that point, they just don't graphically describe it or explicitly mention it.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
LOL what the heck?

According to Stephen, he changed it to "Chambres" because it "fits in theme with Law's Room attack". Even though none of Law's other attacks are like that.

I'm starting to think that Stephen has gone mad with power. He's the official translator now, and thus he believes what he says is the official truth. No matter how inconsistent or idiotic it sounds. It's the same thing with the whole "We don't call them Dwarves because people will think of Lord of the Rings and Tolkien".

Can't we get a #firestephen trending seriously that's insane

Good luck with that. I'd start at Arlong Park, but so many people fucking adore him that anything critical will be met with scorn. Then again, there's people there that still think "nakama" is acceptable, or people that say you're not a true fan of One Piece if you don't buy Viz's volumes (seriously, that's happened to me).

Oh, and here's some more inconsistency. In Volume 67, Law's attack was "Chambres", but in 68, it was back to "Shambles". The inconsistency is another big reason I won't buy anything from Viz. I'd rather have Funimation translate the manga, even though that's not their job.

On One-Punch Man, as I said, they do that lazy thing terrible fansubbers do where they don't bother to translate the entire name, just part of it.
License-less Rider is "Muman Rider", and Handsomely Masked Sweet Mask is "Amai Mask AKA Handsome Kamen". This is just lazy!

I avoid Arlong park like the plague, I've seen people there defend the 4kids dub. I wish viz didn't damn near have a monopoly on manga in the west. Someday I'll learn to read Japanese and own the Japanese op manga, then I'll upload the image to viz with a "all your lost business over shit translations"

As a person in second year Japanese don't do it. It takes ALOT of time to learn Japanese especially Kanji. Kanji has been giving me most of my problems recently. I say if you want to learn Japanese learn it for work or family not for manga or anime it's not worth it. If you want to though go ahead but don't say I didn't warn you.

I must not be reading enough, because most people there hate the 4Kids dub.
To be fair though, it's almost 10 years old, meaning kids are now old enough to have "nostalgia" for it. Just read the comments on Funimation's channel in a One Piece video, you'll see little kids defend the dub.

Yeah, Viz's manga monopoly annoys me. I know there's others out there, but most of them have a really terrible selection.
I also don't like that Viz translates the sound effects. Everyone else is kind of enough to leave them in tact with small words telling us what they mean.

I think a lot of people learned that the hard way. I agree, learn it for something that's important in life, not for a hobby. If the two cross, then that's even better.

HIGHLY DETAILED explanation.

You know what after reading that "enlightening" chapter plus the other shit I heard about it I might just watch the anime now out of fucking principle. lol

So it isnt anywhere near as bad in the anime/manga? Why do I recall people dropping the anime after some infamous episode?

Creepy pedophilic undertones (always appreciated!) mixed with Children of Men made for a interesting first chapter. The Bait and Switch at the end makes this seem like its just going to be generic vampire fighting shonen, but as someone who watched Daybreakers 7 times, I'm probably going to be down for this

I'm the opposite. Unless you're Murata and you're doing something special with your onomatopoeia, then I don't want to see it. Between that and the honorifics, yen press' Yotsuba releases are painful to buy/read.

Translated onomatopoeia often look cheap as hell. It's better when there's a small translation next to it.

The hurt/comfort fan fiction just writes itself.

We dont have any more companies and terrible selection because people do not support the mangaka. Just watch Viz's NYCC announcements, they will be all Pokemon and DBZ color books.

That was something else (see spoiler below). There isn't anything particularly disturbing about Kirito and Asuna having sex; they're the same age and they had gotten "married' in the game. Its just bizarre how much detail that chapter contains about the actual acts. Its pretty much pornographic.

What got people's jimmies rustled was when in the next arc, a much older guy kidnapped Asuna and then stripped her naked and fondled her while literally licking the tears off of her face while he had Kirito restrained and watching, Berserk style)

Of course, Kirito then broke free, turned off all of the pain limiters and literally bisected the guy with a giant sword, among other things, which resulted in the guy in real life going literally insane from the pain.

Never read Sword Art Online or watched it, from reading here it sounds so utterly stupid.

But it can't be worse than Nisekoi

You say that, but...

As someone who has seen both, its not even close to as insipid as Nisekoi.

Honestly, the Aincrad part of SAO is fine. It just lost pretty much any actual stakes when they went to Elfheim because the core conceit of the series was gone.

The second arc of SAO is like if in Attack on Titan they defeated the titans and the rest of the story was just about Mikasa getting kidnapped by some random faction of normal humans.

Y'know what, Putting SAO and Nisekoi in the same sentence feels so.. natural.

They're not really similar in any way that I'm noticing, but it's like they give off the same feel. Weird.

Also I should mention this straight out, um, SAO doesn't actually contain incest
People just like saying that, I guess, dunno

I hope this is true so we can come back to this post and worship it.

The hilarious part is that there was a huge megathread on Oreimo, but everyone was totally squicked out that
Kirito's cousin that didn't grow up with him was into him.

We really should not be posting anime spoilers in the manga thread, especially when the series is being watched for the first time by a lot of manga gaf regulars on toonami.

The whole point is that they did grow up together.

He moved in when she was like 9 or 10 and he apparently was very distant to her such that they had almost no actual interaction. Her obsession with her brother is mostly bizarre because there isn't any reason for it.

Did you not watch the series at all? They were
raised as brother and sister from a very young age when his parents died, it was age 10 when he found out they weren't siblings. That's when he became distant

And again guys we need to stop posting spoilers to an anime series in manga gaf. There really is no all inclusive manga adaptation of SAO and this isn't a novel thread.

I'm going off memory and I don't remember all of it, but that's how I remember it. Didn't she know they weren't siblings though?

No

she found out during the 2 years he was trapped in SAO. Her parents told her because they weren't sure he would return alive

Well, then I suppose I'm just desensitized to Japanese works using "...and they aren't blood related" as an excuse for incest. In any case, it didn't actually happen and I suppose you could rationalize it that she wasn't into him until she figure out that he was not her brother.

They made a big deal of the fact she wasn't supposed to know they weren't actually siblings.

Kami-sama Drop 2

In one of the few instances I will ever say this.

The dad is utterly adorable.

And I reeeeeally shouldn't have gotten my hopes up for a male lead conquering a villainess goddess.

Fanservice is at least adequate, so I guess I'll continue reading this for now.

Girls' Day Out of the Living Dead (oneshot)

Speaking of Douman Seiman, here's another of his charming little zombie shorts. Good luck getting those love bites to heal.

I would die if this guy did a full series revolving around this concept.

Meh, see above, I guess. I may just be desensitized to this kind of thing in anime. I guess just didn't find it nearly as show-killing as the fact that
there wasn't any real stakes in the second arc since you could just die repeatedly without consequence.

The stakes were instead that
he had only a week to stop the villain from stealing his waifu away forever
. It's not great but it's something

Literal waifu wars aren't entertaining, though.

I wonder if SNK is where they end Season 2 of the anime.

I'd say that right now they could have enough material for a thirteen episode anime. But that's already considering they stretch it about the same as they stretched scenes in the anime.

I'd say they could easily wait one more anime season (late 2014) to start the next season and they should have enough material to maybe exactly reach the point where the manga is.

I wonder if the author is going to introduce "powers" now. Would be fun.
Looking forward to Hinata's new strike.
Btw, the art felt a bit off during the first few pages...

Omamori Himari 66
You know, given the circumstances that led to Junk getting temporarily 'scrapped', you really think someone would've told Shizuku that she was still ticking along just fine.

Anyway, 9 chapters left, which gives Himari enough time to flip her shit, be talk no jutsu'ed back to sanity and become MC's waifu. Kuesu's return has destroyed any hope of this concluding with anything other than a universally happy ending.
