LTTP: Sonic Spinball Game Gear (Why does this have 10 minutes of credits?!)

To start, a link to my other Sonic R/LTTPs:
Shadow the Hedgehog
Sonic Heroes
Sonic 06
Sonic and the Black Knight
Sonic the Hedgehog Game Gear
Sonic 2 Game Gear
Sonic Chaos
Sonic Blast
Sonic Labyrinth
Tails Adventure
Tails' Sky Patrol

So yeah, I've finally finished all the Game Gear Sonics (as far as I know the Drifts and the Mean Bean machine port aren't the kind of games you "beat," so I feel safe ignoring them, and I beat Triple Trouble back around when the Gems Collection first came out. Also, I tried playing Drift 2 and it was just plain atrocious.) And thank god for that. Only Tails' Adventure reached a level I'd call interesting/fun (though it still has plenty of flaws). The rest are average/tolerable at best (Sonic 1, Chaos, etc), and godawful at worst (Blast, Labyrinth).

So yeah, this is kind of a weird, moderately frustrating game. It's more just about trying to get the weird physics to allow you to go where you need to go, and it also taught me that focusing on objectives like that instead of racking up a score in a pinball game is a recipe for frustration. I'm actually kind of curious about the Genesis version now. I remember trying to play it plenty of times as a kid and never even getting past the first level. Also, those rooms where you go through the wall and find a one up and a part of a code or whatever are weird. Thought it was a glitch when it first happened.

But more importantly... god DAMN at those credits. I mean, most other Game Gear credits I've seen seem to wrap up in less than a minute, but this seriously must have clocked in at around 10. I'm sure it's more because they wanted to use the (admittedly kind of neat) pinball table background that only allowed them to show one name at a time, but still... geez. Also, they end by telling you to "go to sleep," and then saying "peace." Just plain weird.

What do you mean, you can't beat the Drift games? They have circuits, beat all of them in first place, in order, and you win the game. There are endings and credits scenes in both games -- you can see some of them on Youtube. Sorry. :( (I mean, yeah, they are poor games. I can see why you'd want to skip them. But they DO have endings and credits.)

After you play the Genesis game, you might appreciate the Game Gear one more... I mean, it's so, SO much less frustrating! The GG game's actually fun sometimes, while the Genesis game is just too difficult. And yes, it's also objective-based. Nice graphics though. Spinball GG isn't a great game, but it was entertaining enough to be worth the playthrough, I thought.
