The lack of Fire Emblem: Dragon Sword in the Full Price DS Top 50 is more than slightly disturbing...and the lack of Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness is quite a shock!

That's because NoE shipped like 10 copies of FE in all of Europe.

LittleBigPlanet already passed MGS4 LTD.

Quantum of Solace and Tomb Raider close to ~400k
Sonic, Prince of Persia and Mirror's Edge close to ~200k
Mario & Sonic might pass the 2 Million mark next week :lol

Everything looks like it's selling great in the UK

So what's the validity of this guy?

He's spouting some serious numbers.

LBP LTD > MGS4 in UK? 300k is fantastic for UK alone.

I dunno about NPD but this 300k should be UK only since it won Gold ELSPA awards (>200K) So wait and see for Jan award if it is Platinum award or not yet.

I think the first month of LBP was like 200k? And then it was like 140k, so the total is like 340k ish IIRC.

That's not bad at all for the UK.

Those were the NPD numbers, IIRC, and the UK ones according to the site were 309k, though how valid those are remain to be seen...

AranhaHunter said:
According to the numbers on that link from the leaked site it sold over 300k and the link you showed is from December '08, as a matter of fact what's the criteria for that because a lot of games are missing, is it just games that were released during a certain time frame or what?

Its games that have reached the bench marks listed for the month of December.

Not so good for N&B:

Banjo: Nuts & Bolts ~ 49k

I guess we'll see if his numbers are right if LBP passes 300k in this month's ELSPA awards.

Hrm, the images appear to have gone from that guy's post. Anyone get a copy before they were removed (or maybe my connection is just rubbish).

Yeah, but too bad at f.ex. at 20. place we're probably talking about 2-digit numbers...

Revenue growth in the UK

The UK videogames market was worth 4.03 billion pound in 2008 of which 1.93 billion pound came from software sales.
For comparison: The music market in the UK was worth 1.33 billion pound.

82.8 million games were sold, 17% more than in 2007.
Wii software had the biggest share with about 20.1 million pieces of software, followed by the DS (19.1 million), xbox360 (14.9 million) and PS3 (10.4 million).

No numbers yet for USA or Germany, but a growth is to be expected for both markets.

English link from Edge online. (Maybe create a new topic?)

Edge said:
Almost a quarter of all software sales were for the Wii, with more than 20 million games sold for the system in the UK. That’s a growth of 153 percent over 2007, while revenue from Wii software sales climbed 112 percent to £481 million. “The Wii has broadened the market demographic. And what we’re now seeing is thirdparty publishers – especially Ubisoft – recognising that. Imagine Babies, for example, was a huge selling product in 2008.”
The Wii, DS, and Imagine Babies saving the industry. :lol

Does EA ever release sale numbers? I would really like to know how much they sold Fifa for 360 and PS3 together.

I doubt it. The best we can get from EA is total shipped numbers for all the versions...

Some of the last remaining Sonyland strongholds right here. What other countries remain?
