Averon said:If I'm reading that chart right, LBP did over 300k LTD. If true, LBP must be over 1 million sold by now.
I dunno about NPD but this 300k should be UK only since it won Gold ELSPA awards (>200K) So wait and see for Jan award if it is Platinum award or not yet.AranhaHunter said:What was the NPD numbers for LBP? 300k LTD for the UK only?
AranhaHunter said:What was the NPD numbers for LBP? 300k LTD for the UK only?
DMeisterJ said:I think the first month of LBP was like 200k? And then it was like 140k, so the total is like 340k ish IIRC.
AranhaHunter said:That's horrible....such a great game too...
Private Hoffman said:That's not bad at all for the UK.
AranhaHunter said:What was the NPD numbers for LBP? 300k LTD for the UK only?
DMeisterJ said:Those were the NPD numbers, IIRC, and the UK ones according to the site were 309k, though how valid those are remain to be seen...

AranhaHunter said:According to the numbers on that link from the leaked site it sold over 300k and the link you showed is from December '08, as a matter of fact what's the criteria for that because a lot of games are missing, is it just games that were released during a certain time frame or what?
BLaZiN PRopHeT said:Its games that have reached the bench marks listed for the month of December.

The UK videogames market was worth 4.03 billion pound in 2008 of which 1.93 billion pound came from software sales.
For comparison: The music market in the UK was worth 1.33 billion pound.
82.8 million games were sold, 17% more than in 2007.
Wii software had the biggest share with about 20.1 million pieces of software, followed by the DS (19.1 million), xbox360 (14.9 million) and PS3 (10.4 million).
No numbers yet for USA or Germany, but a growth is to be expected for both markets.

The Wii, DS, and Imagine Babies saving the industry. :lolEdge said:Almost a quarter of all software sales were for the Wii, with more than 20 million games sold for the system in the UK. Thats a growth of 153 percent over 2007, while revenue from Wii software sales climbed 112 percent to £481 million. The Wii has broadened the market demographic. And what were now seeing is thirdparty publishers especially Ubisoft recognising that. Imagine Babies, for example, was a huge selling product in 2008.
