Heads up for those in SF. Looking at twitter a lot of people are pissed because there's a food festival near and the lines are already full.

If you have purchased tickets for ‪#‎MusicfestNW‬ in Portland this weekend, we’d love to see you there!

Due to an ovewhelmingly large amount of excitement and interest surrounding the ‪#‎HTCViveLive‬ truck tour we will be implementing a new system to avoid long wait times in line. Each morning when we open the experience to the public, we will be taking reservations on a first come, first serve basis. Please arrive as early as possible to book an appointment.

Once all of our slots are filled, we will message via our social channels to avoid confusion. This will allow our fans to enjoy the event and come back at their designated time. These reservations are firm and if you are late or miss your slot, we will not be able to accommodate you at a later time.

Our hours of operation during the festival are as follows:

Friday, August 21st 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Saturday, August 22nd 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Sunday, August 23rd 11 a.m - 10 p.m.

On each day we will NOT allow the formation of a line to schedule a demo until the official opening hours of the festival. This will allow anyone that arrives early a fair chance to schedule a demo slot. Thank you for your continued enthusiasm and support of ‪#‎HTCVive‬. We look forward to seeing you there!

Not sure if it's part of the bus demos but Fantastic Contraption is being added to some of the Vive demo rooms at PAX Prime.

Today, it's time to add one more multi-entertaining VR game to that list: Fantastic Contraption, a widely beloved game about building weird structures in an attempt to reach specific points on a small map. Fantastic Contraption launched in 2008 as a non-VR game and has since attracted millions of players and 12 million saved contraptions. In a new video, it gets a super polished update for the Vive, Valve and HTC's impressive room-scale VR headset, and creator Colin Northway discusses the merits of multiplayer VR.

Looks interesting, I think building based games are gonna be a good fit for VR. Hadn't heard of this game before now.

Hi guys, thought I'd pop my head in at this subreddit. If you don't know, I do all the eSports stuff for HTC! You can see me post on most of eSports subreddits such as League of Legends, Hearthstone, CS:GO, Smash and more!

Proof: https://twitter.com/HTC_Junior/status/636437822103121920

So why am I posting here? We over at HTC eSports are going to have some cool events which will feature the Vive demo! We thought it would be good to let you guys/girls know about these events beforehand. The first event is actually tomorrow at the Folsom Street Foundry (this is a little late I know but we just confirmed today that we are bringing it)! Its a cool place that regularly hosts FGC tournaments such as Smash and Street Fighter. You can find out more here: https://www.facebook.com/events/953840161347560/ Please keep in mind that this event is 21+.

Also we will be bringing our Vive demo to our upcoming HTC Throwdown tournament. Its going to be a really cool Smash Bros Melee tournament with all the top players competing for 12k in prize pool. You can find out more about the event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1077727638906436/ This event is for all ages and I encourage anyone in the bay area to come on out as its going to awesome!

Unfortunately I won't be able to answer any of the technical questions about the Vive but I thought it would be a good idea to let ya'll know about where we are bringing the Vive as sometimes its hard to find :D. Will try to update you all on future eSports events we will bring the Vive to.

Didn't know HTC did eSports stuff

HTC has some poor product marketing. It took me 4 days to try it at IFA.
While the HMD itself and demos are stunning

So the consumer Vive will likely be revealed on the 20th at an HTC event. Hoping pre orders go live then too. Thought this post from r/oculus was worth sharing. This guy has the right idea:

I will be buying cox internet for this month just to ensure I have two reliable ISPs in case one goes down. I will be doing various tests to determine which one will be fastest on the 20th.

I am buying two more monitors, so I will have a total of six, and have all the sub reddits, twitter, Facebook, and HTC websites up with a refresh period of every 1 second.

My credit card and address info have already been added in a lastpass sheet so I can auto fill it in.

I have also gathered over 10,000 IPs from people on this subreddit and will ddos them the entire day to ensure I get my vive.

My solar setup can last me a week (without being recharged) and indefinitely with solar batteries recharging.

Also my entire house is in a Faraday cage to protect against EMPs and solar flares.

I will also be hiring private security until my vive arrives that will not be allowed to enter my house (in case they are compromised).

For a last resort I have my AR 15 with 20 mags and a stock pile of food, water, and fleshlights.

They now updated the list
Oct 24-25, Dallas, TX, USA

I am freaking out. Freaking out. I will finally get to experience VR for the first time.

And I had largely ignored this thread because Texas wasn't on the initial list. I'm glad I poked my head back in! Thank you for the update, I would have otherwise had no idea.
