HTC is touring the Vive in parts of the United States and other countries around the world. It's pretty sparse right now, but if you happen to be close you guys should definitely try it out. I'll be trying to make it out to Navy Pier here in Chicago myself.

Here's an excerpt from the site:

The HTC Vive World Tour kicked off on July 9th in San Diego, CA, and will proceed across the U.S. and into Europe in the coming months.

Tour stops currently include:
◾July 9-12, Island St & 6th Ave, San Diego, CA, USA
◾July 17-19, Forecastle Festival [Invite Only], Louisville, KY, USA
◾July 21-23, Navy Pier, Chicago, IL, USA
◾July 25-28, specific location TBD, Kansas City, KS, USA
◾August 2-8, The International, Seattle, WA, USA
◾August 5-9, Gamescom, Cologne, Germany
◾August 13-16, specific location TBD, San Francisco, CA, USA
◾August 20-23, specific location TBD, Portland, OR, USA
◾August 28-31, PAX Prime, Seattle, WA, USA
◾September 4-9, IFA, Berlin, Germany
◾October 28-November 1, Paris Games Week, Paris, France

Note that dates and locations might change.

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Yes. Good. Skip over the UK. Thats fine. Thats fucking fine. HRAAAARRRRRGGGHHHH.

Not sure I believe Vive is coming out this year anymore.

PAX prime it is, then. I'd try for the earlier Seattle event, but it is taking place at the big Dota 2 tournament; not willing to pay $99 to try the Vive since IDGAF about MOBAs.

Yeah! Skip Salt Lake City, which is essentially the new silicon valley and has several game studios, instead go to Portland. Where there are next to zero studios, no tech epicenter, and highest unemployment in the nation! Smart.

Wait the only way to demo it in Seattle on those dates is if you've bought in for the Dota 2 event? I assumed it was outside/close to Key Arena. I'd be very surprised if that was required to demo.

Thanks for the heads up. Guess I'll scope it out when it arrives in Chicago and also scope out that new chicken shack place at Navy Pier too haha.

It's a truck, it's going to be in a parking lot. Only the Lousville is marked as invite only, so you probably don't have to buy a TI ticket.

I'd expect it to perhaps make an appearance at EGX in London

Edit: I see Gamescom and Paris Games week are listed so EGX must be out sadly.

Ugh! Shit like this never comes to? Phoenix. I'm not going to get to experience VR until the consumer products go on sale. :-(

It's a location on the tour?

edit: derp

Very pumped to try it out, can't wait to try the Aperture demo. Hope they can make their release window, curious if Valve and HTC will hold a dedicated event like Oculus did to show off the consumer model.

I mean having Kansas City, but the East Coast doesn't exist apparently. lol

See you at PAX Prime, GAF. Can't wait to get me some Vive goodness.

(although I guess before that I'll get to play it in SF. Feels good to live in the Bay Area, man.)
