UK :

Take 2/Rockstar’s ‘GTA IV’ remains in the driving seat for a fourth consecutive week, leading the All Formats Chart ahead of 3 All Formats Top 10 newcomers from 3 different publishers.
The highest new entry is MMORPG ‘Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures’ from Eidos at No2, registering the biggest launch for a PC title so far this year as well as the biggest ever launch for an online-only title outside of the ‘World of Warcraft’ franchise. Ubisoft score a new entry at No3 with ‘Haze’ on PS3, while EA’s ‘Rock Band’ on Xbox 360 debuts at No6. Three-quarters of all people who purchased the stand-alone ‘Rock Band’ game (RRP £49.99) also purchased the £129.99 priced instrument controller bundle. There are now 8 different publishers represented in the All Formats Top 10. Nintendo can only claim 2 Top 10 titles this week (‘Wii Play’ a non-mover at No5 and ‘Mario Kart Wii’ down from No3 to No8) as stock problems mean ‘Wii Fit’ slips out of the All Formats Top 40, down from last week’s No2.

I have a hard time believing it was different for WiiFit though. I just checked Amazon.fr "En stock le 18 juin 2008" and if my rudimentary french doesn't fail me it means in stock on June 18th.

Anyways we all pretty much expect: WW LTD: WiiFit > GTAIV combined, so in the end it doesn't matter all that much.

I'm loving my BHM today and hope other UK peeps are too.



Anecdotally from one store I saw sell-outs of WiiFit (restocked & back out in a day), PS3 (then restocked) and MarioKart Wii was never even seen (although I got an e-mail telling me it was back in stock online).


ED: And Gameplay has pushed back Disaster Day of Crisis release date to 27th June, expect it to be pushed back again...

Considering what people pay for Singstar, the disc itself is a bargain. It's the instruments where things get a little dodgy.

HAZE will be top 10, maybe even top 5. The amount of TV ads I've seen for it over the bank holiday weekend is insane. I've never seen a turd so well marketed :)

Anyway, back to your comment, I'd rather spend £130 on a good game rather than £40 on a shit game. (Rock Band has been sold for £130 for the game + instruments in many retailers over the weekend).

The only reason why I haven't bought it is because I barely touch Guitar Hero as I'm more interested in playing real instruments and making my own music, and I couldn't contemplate having another toy guitar and an entire toy drum kit.

HAZE will be top 10, maybe even top 5. The amount of TV ads I've seen for it over the bank holiday weekend is insane. I've never seen a turd so well marketed :)

Hardly surprising considering Ubisoft this generation seems to have perfected marketing games very well.

Thanks for the spanish charts Dabra.

I'm quite impressed by PES 2008's performance on the PSP over there. Especially considering that piracy is quite huge in Spain.

Wat? Singstar disc is £20 and has some incredible features that you can use without the peripherals. Rock Band is £50 and has next to no features that you can use without peripherals.

And I predict HAZE in top 5.

Same for me. I have never actively seekd out the Uk charts before this week. First the Bank holiday and now they're late updating. It seems I chose the wrong week.
