Titanfall Gameplay Footage (Embargo Lifted)

If it's really something you can use only once per match it's better than the killstreaks in the recent CODs.

My impression from the Giantbomb stuff is that you have a set you bring into a match and you can use one of those cards. The part I'm not sure about is whether the cards you get during a match are added to your set or to your deck.

Respawn has confirmed DF's 792p resolution. Said they will most likely increase resolution for final game

Update 18:13 GMT: Respawn has confirmed our '792p' pixel count, and has indicated that a resolution increase is on the cards for the final game.

It didn't sound like they were. It seemed like they would be collected and you would have to wait until the next pregame screen to set it up again. It looks like you can have up to 3 one time use cards going into a match.

Yea I'm watching a different video and I agree with your analysis.

They're fine.

The game play loop doesn't look dissimilar enough to Call of Duty for this to interest me. I guess mechs are cool but I am so done with this style of shooter and I don't see what the big deal is about this game.

Yes, that seems to be the way it happens from other footage,

You just pick 3 from your full collections and you use those 3 for 1 match and they burn when you use them.

After the first time I tested this, I couldn't get the game off my mind. So I played some
COD: Ghost & I kid you not, It felt like a slow paced game after Titanfall.

Simply can't get over how intense & fast paced this game is.

I can't see the video, so hopefully you all can indulge me...

So with burn cards, is it everyone enters the match with the same amount and that's it?

Is this lock-on pistol a pseudo replacement for the COD knife? Basically to end CQC fights quickly?

I like it in concept, but a smart soldier wouldn't just drop half full magazines. He'd pocket them for later.

You also wouldn't reload until you had a dry mag.

Reloading with ammo left should ALWAYS be a mag dump OR The animation should be longer and you have to put the half empty mag away making you vulnerable.

You don't actually lose the ammo on reload. I think what feels different is that there is no reload cancelling once the magazine has been removed; if you swap away from the weapon and back you will continue the reload from where you left off.

Good God at that smart pistol. You can kill 4 guys with one shot without any real aim. Just make sure they are inside that giant reticle and pull the trigger. Maybe a bit overpowered.

Disregarding the fact that I'm Australian and have PLENTY to worry about in regards to this game already, this is particularly worrying to me. I can easily see this turning into the new Quickscope.

From what we've seen, you unlock the ability to use a burn card at a specific level. Later on in levels, you can unlock up to 2 more slots for burn cards. Before a match, you can set your card from the ones you've acquired. Once you've used a card, it lasts for that life only and it's gone for the rest of the match.

The smart pistol is a short range lock on weapon that, in my opinion, is best used for killing grunts. It takes 3 locks to kill a player and as a player jumping on a wall can easily get you yo break the lock on.

Really? On a £430 machine?

I want both for that price.

So do I, but ultimately as I stated, if I'm having fun, I'm having fun. I didn't buy the machine JUST for this game, and if people are, then that is their perogative. Since I didn't buy the machine just for Titanfall, I see no need to try and equate the fun I'm having on this one game to dollars that were spent and out of my mind since November.

Hell ya it's disappointing, but once I'm in the game, and if I'm enjoying it and sucked in, I'm thinking about the next person I'm killing, not what the game's native res is.

Quickly to use on A.I, lock-on for humans is longer and only really works if they have no idea you're locking them.

I really think this game looks bad ass, but like every shooter I play, I see myself obsessing over it for about a month or 2 then move on. I have yet to find a mulitplayer game that takes me beyond that time frame except for Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict. This game might be different though if the complexity is there. Edit I am also wondering why they have yet to announce how many maps are at launch. I am thinking 6-8 personally.

See i can't agree with this. This game looks faster paced, which isn't much but it matters. add the double jump, wall run along with being able to pull yourself up over ages adds a lot more than I think a lot of people are giving it credit for. I could be just optimistic, but I think this would open up gun play more where a skirmish doesn't always mean someone is going to die. You've a better chance to escape if caught under fire, which looking at how the levels are laid out, i would say is very possible given the number of open windows to take refuge in (as opposed to sniping).

Speaking of level design, if they make he levels anywhere near as well designed as they were in mirror's edge, just getting around the level will be fun in itself. multiple ways to get to the same spot, covering roof tops ground and along the walls makes for great strategies, especially with a tight group of six.

At least that's what I'm hoping form the game.

That Last Titan Standing mode looks pretty dang fun. Game looks so much quicker than CoD too, can't imagine what it's like switching back and forth. That makes me even more curious on what FM meant when he said Sledgehammer was using Titanfall as inspiration for their game.

Still no word on final map count, number of weapons et. al. with all the previews hitting today. Very odd, as we're a month away from release.

This is the only reason I am still wanting to try the game at this point. As someone who is not good at mp shooters, it will relieve a lot of stress if I can take down the bots with regularity. Perhaps my stats won't be so horrible, lol.
From what I've seen during the Alpha good players where farming the AI right when they spawn (sometimes with grenades from across the map too)

So if you're unlucky you might not even see them running around for you to shoot :/

May I have a cookie?
Gameplay looks fun, but I don't get why this is being lauded as the next big thing, when it's basically the current big thing with some cool enhancements.

There used to be much more creativity in the shooter genre, up to about ten years ago...

I really like the movement possibilities, but as soon as the footage goes into the MP-shooting bits, my eyes glaze over and I just kinda lose interest.

I guess what I'm saying is that Mirror's Edge 2 can't come soon enough.

Thanks. So burn cards are sort of a 'match equipment slot'.

Something about the jumping in this looks really weird. I think it's the gun not moving at all. It seems like it's just floating in front of you.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. That is why I want to get in on the beta so badly, so I don't wind up buying it on a whim and wind up quitting after a couple weeks due to frustration. I want to try it first.

The campaign is in the game it's called Campaign Multiplayer.

Is that like a Lost Planet 2 thing? Where the Campaign is essentially just multiplayer gameplay with a bunch of bots? Same maps and set pieces?

I guess if it at least has a story and cutscenes it's something, but... these "multiplayer only" games just don't jive well with me. Then again BF4's campaign is so terrible I can't play through it even with the allure of free guns for multiplayer...

I'm traditionally a singleplayer gamer. I play at weird hours and times and singleplayer just suits be better (BF4 being an exception as I do have a group I consistently play with there). It just bums me out that in the realm of shooters at least singleplayer seems to be slowly dying.

This is absolutely a game that has to be played not watched. I really can't wait to hear people's impressions once they get the beta. The alpha was the most fun I have had in an online shooter in a very long time.

So burn cards last for one spawn and you find them randomly, ok I kind of like that idea and at least it's not a perma skill.

Also AMAZING how EA are not forcing burn cards as DLC, very shocking to me...
