Has there been any word on whether we'll be able to pre-order/pre-load this on Xbox one? l digitally? I can't seem to find any information on it...do pre orders not exist on Xbone?

So, the there is permanence in the deck. Every card earned is unique and doesn't have to be earned again. The only limit is in the match. Sounds good.

They seem like a really fun concept for mixing things up.

No, I'm pretty sure you would have to re earn a card after you use it. Respawn talks about not using rare cards right away, also you can discard cards.

Its seems that you keep collecting cards. A few videos show multiple of the same card, so if you burn one in a match at least you have the other. The risk could be in using a Rare Amped card and then getting killed, thus burning it from your deck.

Damn, people will be just collecting cards now. :D

I am sure there are more ins and outs to the Cards but its certainly an interesting idea.

"Uses Amped burn card, get shot by Titan 5 seconds later"

Welp that was pointless because now you lose that weapon and card.

Not when you lose it for the entire match after dying

I don't see how being one-use means it won't affect the balance of the game.

It's just weird. A week ago I was actually eventually convinced that "ok, perhaps 3 titans IS better. Keep it simple, keep it symmetric between the players, no extraneous stuff to risk breaking the game".

And now here we are with consumables in the game, up to three per match.

Gameplay looks fun, but I don't get why this is being lauded as the next big thing, when it's basically the current big thing with some cool enhancements.

There used to be much more creativity in the shooter genre, up to about ten years ago...

Exactly this. I knew before its footage that it will not be impressive or to be more precise as impressive as they claim it.

For example check out this gameplay,

PC Gameplay
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9AE1qb4osA

Super Small Map - A massive zerg fest.
Super Fact Pace - Turbo pacing does not promote strategies or even small scale tactics.

All goes in and boom, boom, and boom.

Now take a look at Destiny,

Destiny Multiplayer Demo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBNdrJMwrkc

And my mind automatically brainstorms with plays.

Sure Destiny has got two major red flags - Not releasing on PC and questioning how "competitive" its multiplayer will be; Revealing the details on Destiny's competitive MP, but it terms of making plays against online players it is far superior.

The oldschool players including the ones that have been playing Halo, Battlefield, and Call of Duty franchises for years will certainly enjoy it for a few months before getting bored over it.

I am trying really hard to convince my self that I am totally wrong and there is something significant about this game that enriches the MMOfps genre, but I just can't.

Maybe Jason Winter is right. Maybe it is a fact that us, the ones that claim we love MMOs, we hate almost all of them; It is not you, its me.

However I cant get this thought out of my head every single time I see a new Titanfall gameplay - "CoD Mod, CoD Mod".

Actually, once a card is used it's gone for good. Otherwise a "rare" card wouldn't actually be rare after everyone had a full set of cards.

I appreciate it. Like the post states. It does look like a 360 game. For some reason the lady that talks reminds me of this space game I played ages ago called tachyon. Anyways, I am still fairly interested but my biggest concern still remains and it is the fact that there does not seem to be much content. Yes the game will be supported but its definitely a showcase of gameplay. Granted if it was a lower price(ala warhawk), I wouldnt be so concerned.

Ah - knowing my ass I'll be very frugal then lol.

I am sure the XP Boost cards will be dropping like candy. I do hope they have some cards with risks attached to them. Maybe something like your Titan having a permanent Damage Core online but once it fades, your Titan nukes itself. :D

Sounds good to me.

I agree. My point was just that it's dumb to reduce a game to "it's cod with mechs lol". Same thing happens in the Second Son thread too. "This game is just X boooo".

Yikes, even that PC footage looks eerily graphically similar to 1080p Call of Duty 4. I mean... everything even has that same sheen.

They don't exist yet. I've never heard them speak about this so I don't expect it to happen anytime soon.

So everyone won't necessarily have access to the same pool of cards then. That doesn't sound so good.

Is there any sort of visual indication of what type of burn cards someone has equipped?

Mmm, going to be fun to collect.

The ones that are common will definitely be used, but knowing me, rare drops will be saved.

It's baffling that it's not there for a system that was originally intended to be digital only. I know they had to rush and redo "everything" with the new drm restrictions removed, but you would think some of that work would translate seemlessly.

I'm very tempted to pre-order from ms since you get $10 back, but id like a digital copy more than the $10 I think.

Kinda want to make a thread about this whole digital incentive not being there, but it's well treaded ground at this point about how fucked up this is. It's in MS's interest to sell me a copy I can't trade in, yet at every corner they make the barrier to digital worse and worse!

Since they could be real players and thus actual conflict, seems rather pointless.

Well, it's not. When you play it and learn it yourself instead of watching a video of someone else with a critical eye, you'll know that it's not a terrible/bad/ stupid thing at all. Makes the game always feel alive and actually gets you involved in a way that still doesn't happen in the largest player-count games where you can end up having to spend a lot more time getting to the action only to die soon.

Graphics are very mediocre for a next gen game. Not to be an ass, but the whole thing strikes me as a Call of Duty mod.

The PC footage looks like garbage too? I guess respawn just wasn't interested in graphics at all. Still getting this but damn.

Doesn't look garbage at all. The Angel City video on eurogamer looks damn good. Solid texture work, nice environmental shadows, pretty good particle effects, detailed weapon models -- with lots of on screen action. Your mileage will vary, but the game is far from ugly. Not sure where people are getting that from. Doesn't matter, I guess. Game looks pretty intense.

Gameplay looks like a lot of fun! Lots of awesome moments.

Graphics are lacking, but there are many other areas that make up for this and in such a game I don't feel as if it is particular important (just a nice to have).

Hope I can try it out for myself in the Beta :D

Point is same could be said about Destiny.
Not sure why some compare Titanfall to Destiny though...

It is rather bizarre to say the least. I think some people like to set up VS battles between certain games. And as Destiny and TitanFall are the new kids on the block they are set off against each other even though they both offer rather different play experiences.

Yeah, seems to me like pointless rivalry, they are aiming for very different experiences. No good reason for no playing both as they both look pretty amazing.

But of course there is going to be fanboys looking for bizarre reasons to contrast them and declare a winner, but yeah that is what fanboys do.

I'll be honest - the Fracture map looked a little too big :( My thoughts based on the GB video with Jeff running around for a while with no action.

Its probably more art related honestly. It just looks dull to me. Washed out colors. Graphical boring would be more fitting than garbage I suppose. Way too much text on the screen and a ton of hud. I'm probably gonna love the game but it isn't pretty.

I just watched a number of these videos and I can't get over the fact that there seems to be no recoil to the shooting and the jumping mechanic is not restricted by any cooldown of any kind, so its non stop double jumps and random shooting with no recoil.

But the worst thing is all the cannon fodder bots. They seem useless in terms of attacking you or posing a threat, and just a map filler to get you to a Titan faster and make the maps not empty.

I am just not seeing it as fun gameplay, there seems to be no strategy to the attacks/defense because everything dies too quickly. See someone first, bot or pilot, you almost always win the encounter, they don't even have time to turn or hide or dodge. And Titans are just bigger guys, they also seem quite fragile vs. other Titans in the grand scheme.
