Good thing Guilty Crown won that category.

And then Psycho-Pass episode 11 won "best noitaminA episode" over Apollon episode 7.

Thanks a lot, Nico Nico voters.

Golden Time 23

This show has just become uncomfortable to watch. The drama is worse than when ghost banri was a thing, the show is basically a trainwreck. At this point I just want an ending where Banri goes crazy and ends up broken and alone, while everyone else is left ashamed for doing nothing to get help for their mentally ill friend. At last next week will be the end.

Oh God. The Psycho-Pass remix isn't a slimmed down version of the original series. It's 11 episode of ONE HOUR LONG episodes. Meaning the noitaminA slot in Summer will be 90 mins long. Lol. Lolololol.

>_<

Ohhhhhhh boy.

I'm kind of tempted to watch this for the sake of the new content and to lead up to the new series, but a whole hour of Psycho-Pass every week which is mostly stuff I've already seen is really pushing it >.>

I'm glad at least Banri realized he needed to get checked into a hospital. I can't blame him acting the way he does during this whole thing because honestly, who wouldn't get driven nuts and get paralyzed by existential fear from what he's going through, but at the same time I also think it's a pretty irritating vehicle for conflict/tension.

Also at least this segment makes some sense, unlike Ghost Banri. That guy is probably going to be the most hated villain of 2014 for me. :lol

It just comes off as a lame plot device to create drama, especially as the way his memory works is really silly and ridiculous. I don't think amnesia working this way is any more believable than ghost banri. There are good stories to be told about mentally ill people being in love, this just isn't one of them.

New noitamina show for July! http://terror-in-tokyo.com/

Watanabe at Mappa, Yoko Kanno doing music, Kazuto Nakazawa is the character designer.

Amazing. Watanabe + MAPPA + Kanno is a great combo, and the setup sounds really interesting.

Burn it all down.

Nanana's is un-noitamina as fuck.

Forget Nanana, the Saenai Heroine PV actually features a character complaining about how their show isn't ambitious enough for the noitaminA slot!

I still think Nanana could be good, though. The whole treasure-hunting adventure theme could be really fun if they pull it off well, and the way the staff at the event talked about the mystery-solving antics sounded promising. Hoping for the show to basically be the anti-Galileidonna =p

...On the other hand, the ratings for the first couple of LN volumes on Amazon JP make me think maybe I should temper my expectations >.>

That's a Twin Tower reference if I ever saw one.

Yep, that's my immediate reaction too. The kid on the right's belt being red, white, and blue is further confirmation. It really does seem like it's going to delve Japanese bullying culture as well so I'm hoping it's a larger scale analysis of Japanese society but also the terror culture that 9/11 spawned.

Really hoping this is a more refined version of Eden of the East essentially.

Yesterday finished all 74 eps of Monster and I can safely say that it's WAYYYY overrated IMO, not saying it's bad or anything but for all the praise and heaps it gets, it ain't a masterpiece

The special noitaminA short is "Poulette's Chair". I totally missed it and didn't even notice it was uploaded to their channel because I turned the stream off after the announcements and went to get dinner. It's produced by Studio Colorido and directed by Hiroyasu Ishida. The character design and animation is by Yojiro Arai. They're young creators who recently released the short film Hinata no Aoshigure. The music for Poulette's Chair is by Masashi Hamauzu.

I just watched it, and I'm really impressed. It was a really effective way to telling a story about a girl who had difficulty making friends, and played with a sentient chair instead, and how things don't really seem to change much even as she grows up. Great stuff.

At least the good thing for Psycho Pass 2 is probably Akane will be in 'Kogami' attitude.

The bad thing is probably the new inspector that joined will be like Akane's old wimpy attitude.

Oh please let Kogami come back early into it.

I really like how he handles colour. It's lively and cozy at the same time, and very well balanced.
He used the same tracking shot style as in Fumiko's Confession for one part, but now it's much improved, both the technique and the CGI :p
I hope this guy keeps getting work, maybe a longer movie at some point.

So what's so bad about Psycho Pass? Haven't seen it guess I'll use the remix to catch up for S2

Could have been a really cool Blade Runner style scifi action thriller. Instead it got bogged down by poor procedural writing, iffy motivations, and poor production schedules which made the show look worse and worse as the weeks went by. Both opening sequences were really awesome though!

So if this re:start fixes the production issues and adds new scenes to clarify things then I shouldn't bother with the original version anymore and just watch the remix?

Yeah I think you should just watch the remix if you haven't seen the original at all yet and are interested in checking it out. The worst of the errors were mostly corrected on the home video releases already, which should be the same material they're using to make the bulk of the remix.

Just from seeing the PV and reading the series summary it kind of reminds me of a mix between Darker Than Black and Ghost in the Shell with some Minority Report mixed in. Seems like it could be pretty cool

BGBW

Maturity, bitches.
The new scenes will just be more back and forth banter between to people quoting books to sound intelligent.

"Was it not Mr. Bob who said in The Book About Something 'if man does something then he did indeed do something'?"
"Indeed, but what he fails to point out is that sometimes man doesn't do something which was touched upon in John Smith's Nothing is Nothing where he clarifies that 'when nothing is done by man then nothing is done' this clearly implies that society is doomed no matter what. A simple case of you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't."
"So in order for society to not be doomed it must not be run by man but by something else?"
"Indeed."
"But who do you propose to run society if not man?"
"Men"
"Woah!"

Sorry for leaking the script.
