Though it's supposed to have some feels, this episode felt pretty stupid. Though the Shichimiya stuff is basically over, the fact Rikka left the building while sick is really indicative of her mental state

New Psycho-Pass PV used the OP1 song instead of the OP2 song. In the end the better opening won.

totes gonna check out the manga soon

Well, ok, I should read the manga for this.

Aaaand as previously leaked, January will have that Saenai Kanojo no Sodatekata LN adaptation. Website here, but it's newtaminA so that's about as interested as I can get.

Meh, still don't really like the manga.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun TV anime in July http://www.nozakikun.tv/

The Chief = Summer
Makishima = Autumn
The Cellphone = Psycho Pass 11 weeks one hour reruns.

I'm hoping Egoist(Supercell) makes a return. Namae no Nai Kaibutsu was excellent.

Yep, that's my immediate reaction too. The kid on the right's belt being red, white, and blue is further confirmation. It really does seem like it's going to delve Japanese bullying culture as well so I'm hoping it's a larger scale analysis of Japanese society but also the terror culture that 9/11 spawned.

Really hoping this is a more refined version of Eden of the East essentially.
Well, I hope they have some ambition other than just "hey, remember 9/11?" anyway.

I dunno, they could probably just concoct some tosh about, I dunno, maybe some twins or something?
If you want to just go insane, you could have him just go into space with Ichika.

Alternatively, you make a show about Renon being an MiB.

(Kanna also cries for 12 more episodes)

So what's so bad about Psycho Pass? Haven't seen it guess I'll use the remix to catch up for S2

It had a potentially interesting sci-fi premise, but it was completely wasted by a bunch of characters with no consistent or believable motivations and completely preposterous world building that didn't really make much sense as any sort of cohesive whole. Rather than having anything to say about society, it wound up just recycling a bunch of cool looking things that people thought were neat about other dystopian sci-fi stories without wondering how any of this fit together or what it meant.

The result is a culture and society which feels completely unbelievable and a story which just feels like it has been pasted together at the last minute because there's no sort of cohesion between all of these disparate elements.

Let's do this.
Ep 4
Shirley x Trude. Episode was so best.
Ep 5
Lucchini becomes a kidnapper.
Ep 6
Sanya x Elia episode also featuring lesbian super rocket pyramid.
Ep 7
The infamous ep 7. The opening shot being a butt and crotch shot sets the tone I think. I have no words. Literally tears of laughter.
Ep 8
Coincidental plot device bullshit.
Ep 9
The episode where Minna and Sakamoto make out finally.
Ep 10
Shizuka mother-fucking Ito as a Strike Witch. Be still my heart. Shirley remains the strongest.
Ep 11
I'm sure there's meant to be something subtle and deep about how the main command are all middle age men who are deep untrustworthy but ehhhh....
Ep 12
True facts:
Yoshika lost her magic powers because her little friend back in her homeland is a Neuroi.

All in all it was basically the first season again with even more bad CG and increased lewd everywhere.

Princess Tutu 24

Reach out for the truth

Stop suffering Rue. God damn. The one pro is that Lilie hasn't been speaking during these last few episodes. Fuck her.

So that's what Tatsuyuki Nagai's been working on! I'll watch any show he directs and I really liked Ano Natsu so I'm very much looking forward to it. The movie in the last ep had me hella teary. I didn't know if this show was popular in Japan or not -- I guess it was? My only dislike about this show is the main character's design. Hoping for a happy end for Kanna.

Are any of the other Brave series that came before GaoGaiGar worth watching? There's like, 7 other Brave shows that came before GaoGaiGar. Any of them good?

So let me see if I've got all this straight.

July, we get another Watanabe x Kanno x MAPPA teamup except this time about two kids who are terrorists or something in modern-day Tokyo, and Psycho-Pass reruns with new scenes added.

October, we get an award-winning manga adaptation from A-1, and Psycho-Pass S2.

This winter we're also getting the Psycho-Pass movie.

January, it's that LN adaptation that was leaked yesterday.

And at some time next year we're getting a pair of films (or one film split into two parts, I dunno) based on two novels from a highly-regarded sci-fi writer who passed away five years ago.

Quite the interesting lineup.

I understand this feeling. I remember writing up all this stuff with duckroll around episodes 1 and 2 about how Akane sparing the rape victim in the first episode reflected the need for responsible human actors to preserve the spirit of the law in the show's robotic, letter-of-the-law system. There's actually a bunch of interesting things to chew on in the show's setting if you build the system as something that functions properly and stably. But the show was hardly interested in those things, and in the show's efforts to build the confrontation with Makishima, everything else went to the side.

Given what we've learned about Sibyl now, it'd be tough to explore it as a serious place anymore.

The 2015 noitaminA Project Itoh film is in fact an adaptation of two of the author's works - Genocidal Organ and Harmony. This is the first stage of Project Itoh, and they plan on making more stuff beyond this.

Genocidal Organ came out after I dropped behind on Haikasoru's output without any hope of finding time to catch up, but I did read the English print of Harmony and it's a pretty legitimately interesting read. I mean, thematically, you can see why Ito was friends with Kojima (and ended up writing that Metal Gear novel I didn't get around to reading), as it's certainly dabbling in the same sort of playgrounds to a degree, but it's rather more coherent, mature and tonally consistent than Kojima's output has tended to get as of late. I'm curious to see how the anime adaptation pans out.

I don't often see eye to eye with your opinions on various shows but this is a damn fine summation of Pshcyo Pass' many flaws.

Look at all this Rue suffering. Damn it Corvo.

Princess Tutu is actually a metaphor for AnimeGAF trying to get me to watch Magical Girl anime. Big Daddy Corvo is my impotent rage at everything, and Corvo Princess is the repressed desire to watch Magical Girl animu. Tutu is AnimeGAF in the form of Hito, trying to befriend and encourage that feel, Fakir is the ill-fated attempts to help me understand that Magical Girl shows can have action, too (we'll call him MadP), NekoSensei is CNet, encouraging Magical Girl Show Watching for debatable, if wildly entertaining, reasons. Duck's friends are Cajun, squeeeing with infinite fury over how adorable this all is. Dr. Hell is also Cajun, since the gentleman's arrangement with Cajun is how I wound up here.

I just wanted to say with regards to the episode 7 opening shot, they actually did it to mirror the exact same shot on season 1!
Also yeah S2 had some more CG on the witches but S1 had it too. Also S1 had more lewd overall as well.

Damn that was brutal. Can't even root for Saber anymore as her victory would mean a win for Kiritsugu. I hope he and Tokiomi will off each other in the cruelest way imaginable.

So Minori has an older sister, and two twin younger sisters, and he once took baths with most/all of them. Minori's family is great. The hijinks surrounding them are what I expect, with them really insisting on Minori getting pregnant (Japan's birthrate leads to some odd/good things in anime). It was enjoyable to watch, and the tone of the second half hit all the right beats too. The a capella version of Yuka's song really set the mood, and seeing Ringo smile was really heartwarming. This show knows just what it sets out to do, and does it really well.

Wake Up, Girls! 11

Wheels within wheels for Hayasaka. Maybe he's not as much of a rat as I first thought. Knew there'd be some drama before the finale - and I-1 is having doubts themselves - but I'm expecting a victory for the girls. The question is how.

Yes! Asumisu!
From the future? Almost certainly Yukina and Kojo's future daughter.

This show has just become uncomfortable to watch. The drama is worse than when ghost banri was a thing, the show is basically a trainwreck. At this point I just want an ending where Banri goes crazy and ends up broken and alone, while everyone else is left ashamed for doing nothing to get help for their mentally ill friend. At last next week will be the end.

Hopefully its not too much. Going to catch up three episodes tonight.

I didn't know those Aniplex thumbnails were actual pictures at Anime Japan

Who is the hime-cut cutie with the rose in her hair?

Aww yiss. Here's hoping that it's a new full series, but honestly any kind of new NatsuMachi is good news.

Can we have a new love interest for Kanna? I want her to finally get a happy end -.-

She will never get a happy end. Still best girl.

The sign language sequence was pretty great. This show does a nice job of mixing an overall dark tone with some really goofy humor without it feeling jarring.

Some really nice imagery in this episode too. Lots of grey broody environmental shots, and everything at the summer house was nice, especially the pool scene.

Story-wise, we're starting to see some of the dark side of the relationship.
Though they're still happy together, but Yuka attacked Toshihiko twice, and it seems to happen whenever she gets excited, which is not good. This show is like a really artsy examination of what it'd be like being in love with The Hulk. Also brought up that at some point Flesh Eaters apparently go permanently berserk. Hope that doesn't happen. ;_;

I really like how "real" Toshihiko and Yuka's relationship feels. The show does a good job of developing chemistry and banter between the two.

Also there was a giant hitman.

What a creep.

People are dropping like flies now.
A thoroughly deserved end for Tokiomi. Adding Kirei and Gilgamesh to my "die as soon as possible list"

Think I'm supposed to know what the hell that "Root" is at this point. Will have to steal a look at wiki.
