I think people will someday realise that 1 person does not make a team.

The Demon Souls and Dark Souls director was on involved in Dark Souls 2

The lead game designer of Uncharted: DF was on involved in Uncharted 2.

All GoW games.

Do you think Druckmann fires everyone individually or does he just send them texts saying dont come back to work

edit: I love the implication that no one could choose to go join Riot Games and work on the world's biggest game right now because they WANT TO WORK ON THE WORLD'S BIGGEST GAME

it must be SOMETHING NEFARIOUS

He does it by simply ignoring their existence.

"Hey Neil. Neil? Oh God, no. NEIL! NEIL! You can't do this to me. Neil, I have a family. N... security, I still work here. Get off me, what're you doing, I still work here! Druckmann! Druckmann, call them off. I was loyal! No, you can't. Neil! NEIL!"

Naughty Dog has come to terms on the release of UC4 director Justin Richmond as of Thursday, Mar. 27, 2014. We wish Justin the best in all future endeavors.

Nintendo using its warchest, bwahahaha! You just wait!

No, really what is going on? Could someone be stealing talent, maybe Amazon? don´t think so but it is cool to have crazy theories.

Casualties List:

Amy Hennig (Creative Director) of Naughty Dog
Justin Richmond (Creative Director) of Naughty Dog
Col Rodgers (Creative Director) of Evolution Studios
Stig Asmussen (Creative Director) of Sony Santa Monica
Jaime Griesemer (Lead Designer) of Sucker Punch
60+ Employees of Sony Santa Monica
Jack Tretton as President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America

Nope, nothing to see here guys, standard turnover. Not a trend.

You forgot Seth Killian.

On topic.
There are some strange things afoot down at Sony atm.

Maybe Riot Games has something else interesting going on. They've only put out one game ever (which just happens to be very, very successful), and maybe they want to try something new and Richmond wants to be apart of it.

But nah, it's probably because Sony is dead.

I think them contextualizing their employees' decisions to stay at or leave a company would be highly inappropriate and probably a violation of right to privacy.

They don't have to get super specific about it. Just typical PR. They could simply say:

Santa Monica wasn't progressing their project the way we hoped.
Driveclub needed reworked.
Naughty Dog needed a change of direction and we wish Amy & Justin the best. The depatures were amicable but I can't really say anything more than that. I'm sure they are doing well.

Maybe intro that with a few sentences about quality standards and wanting what is best for gamers, blah blah blah. In this industry, many things happen for different reasons and rest assured internet conspiracy theories will always be silly. Laugh once. Then finish up with we're happy with how that is turning out for us already. Reconfiguring, etc.No downsizing. We don't retreat. In it for the long haul. Take a crack at all the "doomed" stuff on the net. The payoff is already there. Yada, yada, yada.

Then promise some more screens and development updates that will take peoples minds off their imagined fears. Show them the product is fine.

More or less what they did the other day discussing Driveclub but only more of it and from someone noticeable. I don't think it would take much more than that to keep people from getting excitable like they are now.

not going to get alot of news-but my friend Peter Tcherkes (Level Designer) left ND shortly after the launch of TLoU-wouldnt tell me why-up until the launch window he had nothing but good things to say about the game, and company

Still waiting for the plot twist...

The PS4 is only $400 because all of the materials they used are radioactive. So the people leaving couldn't possibly work with a company that will be giving their consumers cancer.

That's the best plot twist I could come up with.

In these situations, a company never reveals what's happening behind the scenes, nor should they be forced to.

Having said that, the nature of this industry honestly makes me feel that Sony would be better off if some whistleblower actually reveals what's been happening with all of this "restructuring".

The longer the silence holds, the more conspiracies get made. The press will then eat this up, especially to offset to the positive vibes Sony has been generating with the PS4.

Oh well, ND had a good run.

They made two great games. Uncharted 2 and The Last of Us.

Two great games is more than most developers manage.

Goodbye Sweet Prince.

Think about it... It was right under our nose all along.

Jin, you've cracked the code. Better go into hiding before the Google ninjas show up to silence you.
