Looks like all digital PSP / PSone games work on Vita now [Not Anymore]

Just a heads up for those that blindly went and got the Capcom and SEGA Classic Collections
The ports of the games in them was handeled by Backbone IIRC. Unless the PSP versions are actually better compared to their console counterparts don't expect anything at the level of emulation M2 did.

The Gradius PSP Collection was handeled by M2 though, however I recall reading this was one of their weaker porting projects?

I'm tight that I didn't jump on that flash sale. Could be in .99 cent heaven right now.

I will pick up a 64GB card and a bunch of games for my Vita though.

So have Sony said anything about this yet? I know they haven't done their Store update post yet, but anything on twitter?

Does this compatibly update only apply to games you've purchased before and are on your download list, or is any game that was previously incompatible and can be purchased as of today going to work?

Should be generally everything on the store, they all get added to the same list either way.

Such awesome news. But where the hell is FF VII Crisis Core and KHBBS??!

C'mon Squenix...Is there any logical reason as to why these aren't available digitally? Makes no damn sense to me.

Crisis Core had some issues with the license for the game's main theme song if I'm not mistaken.

As for KHBBS, no KH game for PlayStation consoles is available digitally. Has to do with Disney characters iirc.

Anyone know if Obscure: The Aftermath works? It's not listed on the store if you go in through Vita but, then again, neither is a lot of other stuff that is now on my download list (like Valkyria Chronicles II and Gurumin)... so I'm assuming it does, but don't want to buy it for no reason.

Gradius Collection is excellent. Never had issues on my PSP.

It's ironic I ordered a 64GB card on the 15th iirc?

Won't have a Vita until the slim releases in the states on May 6th though

The wait is REAL!
:(

Asked this in another thread, but I might as well ask it here too:

I'm kind of tempted to get Blood Omen since I never played it and Nosgoth has me in the mood. Does it hold up alright?

As someone that missed out on the PSP, what are some of the best of the PSP games that are now available to download on Vita?

Metal Gear Sold: Portable Ops
Valkyria Chronicles 2
Gran Turismo PSP
Motorstorm: Arctic Edge

Anything else?

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker > Portable Ops. Get PW.

Now I really wish they would release Return Fire under the PS1 Classic. Would love to play that in my lounge chair while my wife watches some dumb TV show.

The Sega Genesis Collection is excellent on PSP.

The Capcom one is frustrating. Loading times between games and not just switching games but between starting over on a game. It puts all this bullshit around it with unlocking crap and stuff. Should have been just a simple menu and then load the game.

Sega one is better with less loading.

The emulation on both of these are not bad and play fine.

You could have been playing it all this time! :p

After all the excitement, I recalled almost buying it again about a year or so ago when it was discovered to work via transfer.

Sega should get on some full-blown Vita versions of OG Sonic, Vectorman, etc, soon. People might catch wind of a $9.99 package of all the best Genesis content, jump on it, and never look back.

This works since Vita's release.

Heh, you're late to my humility.

Maybe I'm getting desperate but... Is there anything we can do to get Phantasy Star Portable 2 back on PSN? Typically I don't do petitions, but I would truly love to rebuy it. I don't think SEGA would lose any money putting it back up. :(
