PS+ version of Driveclub will have 5 tracks (1 country) and 10 cars.

I'm a PS4 day one owner and I was looking forward to playing the free version on day one and it sucked really bad when the delay got announced. Now that we have an idea of what the amount of content of the free version is I don't get all the uproar, if you guys want more content buy the damn game and stop being a cheapass. Since when are 5 tracks and 10 cars not good enough as a 'demo'?

You're whining about me having a legitimate issue of them putting up a demo in lieu of an actual game. If you enjoy getting ripped off, for $50 a year I'll e-mail you 12 thumbs up a year and randomly replace them with middle fingers.

The rip off is that they mixed in Driveclub Extra Demo Edition with those fun games.

they have already given us over $100 worth of content for the PS4...and god knows how much PS3 and Vita content in that time...

you really want to go down the PS+ is a "rip off" route?....

They haven't lied, period! They said the game will have a platinum = it does! they said the game will have full features = it does! they said it would be full the game minus cars & tracks = it is.
You are wrong.

Ignoring the 'a few', and we shouldn't, but some people are clearly unable to handle it, firstly, we have no idea if you can still get the platinum, only that you can get trophies, secondly it was said to be the full single player, now it isn't. There's really no getting around that being a significant shift.

PS+ is wonderful, Driveclub Extra Demo Edition is the rip off. Why are you not getting this? A demo is not a free game, especially when the devs mislead us into believing this was a hefty portion of the game instead of a demo.

Sony shot themselves in the foot with PS+. The amount of people that feel they MUST get a AAA retail game sometime after release, or on release, is amazing. Sony doesn't have to give you anything. They never did. But because they did now everyone cries to their mom because Sony deceived you

and to think Mass Effect fans got labeled as entitled because we didn't praise an ending that was written on a napkin. If we're entitled, I wonder what that makes most of the people in this thread.

A demo is not a free game

I think Konami made this clear a couple of weeks ago.

Peoples expectations were based on what they were told by the creators. That's pretty much it.

Driveclub is a very expensive game, ESPECIALLY that it's been delayed for a year.

Do you really think Sony is just going to give away the complete version of an AAA budget-level game? Hell no...they have way too much money invested into the project for that.
This is what I don't get.

People though they given away majority of the game on release date with a upgrade option as well?

Not really. They said the PS+ edition would be missing a FEW cars/tracks. Missing 4 countries out of 5 isn't exaclty "few". That would be the majority.

Don't you think it's funny too that people are defending the amount of content Sony is putting in this PS+ edition? You would think consumers/gamers would want more content rather than less.

They can say what they want but I never expected anything close to 80% of the game which is what people seem to be expecting. I mean who is going to actually buy the game if the PS+ version is only missing 2 or 3 cars/tracks? I always expected this to be a glorified demo regardless of they has been said. At the end of the day someone from Evolution probably messed up with their information.

As for people defending Sony most of them are just being reasonable. Just because we pay for the service doesn't mean we automatically expect more. I mean we don't even know what else we are getting from the service in the month Drive Club is released.

The PS Plus version gives us to the biggest open community marketplace, day one. This game is all about socialising hooking as many whales as possible to buy our "assets".

Fixed that up a bit.

Yes, because they said so?

Who cares about what is reasonable and not? That's what they said, and that's what people believed when it was announced.

im not "getting it" because youre whole argument is based on your selfish, entitled, childish attitude towards the service...which i completely 100% disagree with

You forgot "a few" words.

The "a few" statement could have been right in November 2013. The "a few" statement could now be incorrect due to 1 year of additional time to include more cars and tracks.

Of course, this free edition is meant to get a lot of people to buy the upgrade/full version. You achieve this by including 5 tracks and 10 cars, and not by including 10 tracks and 20 cars (if someone wants to tell me they can extend the free content accordingly).

I agree, but shouldn't we wait till October to decide if it's a rip off? You realize there may be an additional game right? It was supposed to be driveclub and resogun at launch

It might be the best demo ever and really fun, that dosn't change the fact they lied it and that IT IS a demo.

Very unfortunate, they should have managed expectations better.

I was always going to get the retail disc anyway but I feel for you + guys.

They replaced the extra-launch game with Contrast, it always seemed to me that it was to make picking up PS+ at launch more appealing.

How is Driveclub+ different from a demo? At what amount of content would a demo graduate to a Prologue %-wise? I want to hear what % of content YOU propose a demo and a not-demo have?

This isn't even close. Unless people are arbitrarily setting expectations. What was announced today is what I expected and I never put a number like "Evolution said 31 cars and 7 tracks damnit!". Overreactions are prominent in not only this but in the 30fps thread.

Okay, let's put it this way, if + didn't exist, and there were two versions of DC to buy, one $60, one $40, and the second was described as the + one was, the full single player, just missing a few car/tracks. You order it, and it has five tracks out of twenty five, and ten cars out of fifty, and it doesn't have the full single player, would you then think complaining would be 'childish'?

Yeah, pretty obvious they can say what they want.

Why do people keep saying this? Missing 2 or 3 cars/tracks? What about getting 50% of the content? In other words missing 50% of the content. Could that be possible too? Or does it have to be 2 or 3 cars/tracks?

frankly, even if it is the only game given that month PS+ is not a "rip-off" considering what they have already released, and what will come between now and then...the service has paid for itself multiple times...

It might be the best demo ever and really fun, that dosn't change the fact they lied it and that IT IS a demo.

no, its a scaled back version of the full game missing content like tracks and cars...perfectly reasonable for a PS+ release...

the content:development cost of what your getting is probably still on par with Dead Nation, or Mercenary Kings

How is Driveclub+ different from a demo? At what amount of content would a demo graduate to a Prologue %-wise? I want to hear what % of content YOU propose a demo and a not-demo have?

because its not a demo...it seems like you can participate in the complete game (unlocking trophies etc) just minus cars and tracks...

there is no % of content that differentiates between a demo and a non-demo...plain and simple youre getting this for FREE....

Okay, let's put it this way, if + didn't exist, and there were two versions of DC to buy, one $60, one $40, and the second was described as the + one was, the full single player, just missing a few car/tracks. thats the most absurd comparison ive seen...the actual situation is nothing like that...if you paid for PS+ and this was the ONLY game you were getting all year, your comparison might hold some water...

No need to respond like that...

Here is the post everyone is talking about Metfanant and Glorified G

http://neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=79403849#post79403849

and like i already said...a single line, from a single GAF post months ago is simply not enough to justify this type of behavior from adults...

That's unfortunate it ended up being just a glorified demo. My guess is the costs of a year delay had a lot to do with what the PS+ version came to be. Hopefully the game ends up being good cause i'm not as inclined to throw money at them after this.

Well guess what, they changed their minds and now in order to play the full game you have to pay $60. They are releasing a free version with a fairly decent amount of content for you to try at first and are informing people way in advance about this so there shouldn't be any problems.

Didn't you see the other thread? It was delayed for dynamic menus.

I have seen the other thread, and now I'm asking you if you really think whole Evolution is creating menus. Really?

Considering the development history, we can probably assume shit has changed since last year's comments.

They are still giving us free PS+ version like they always promised.

I literally do not get the concern in this thread.

- You can earn the platinum trophy in the PS+ Edition, remember its the full game minus a few cars/tracks.

From someone who actually works at Evolution Studios. The game has gone from "minus a few cars/tracks" to CONSISTING OF "a few cars/tracks". So they're not delivering what they promised.

Is not about you expected, it about what they told. I don't think is that hard to understand, they said "except a few tracks a cars", how's ppl overreacting again?

Is the same deal with DSII graphics, a lot of ppl (althought they never been there when it happened) never expected DSII graphics to reach the gameplay reveal, because it wasn't reasonable enough. But is not about you expect, it about the message From and Namco send, they told "this is how the game will look".

Is the same, ppl expected more, because they were told to expect more. You may have though "Nah! is impossible they give you almost a full game", and that's fine and dandy, here's an internet medal for you!

But that dosn't change the fact, Sony's message was misleading and that people are, correctly reacting, for being basically lied.

Exactly. Shit has changed. It's not the same content as originally promised. That is why people are upset and rightfully so

I understand why people are upset based on the comments made. But I really think this is what the PS+ version was going to be all along. When it was first announced it sounded like the full game with all the features and modes but lacking content like cars and tracks. Basically a really nice demo that might allow you to expand by buying the cars and tracks you wanted. I never heard the comment made that only a few cars and tracks would be left out. If I did I wouldn't have believed it. The point of the PS+ edition is to boost sales and keep a strong community for the game. No one would buy the full version or upgrade if it only added a few new tracks or cars it just doesn't make any sense, it's a brand new game.

All I'll say is for the one comment that I have now heard that said there would be only a few cars / tracks missing, there are many more comments saying there would be a "selection" of cars and tracks in the PS+ version. And, 10 cars with 8 tracks (11 variations) sounds like a pretty decent selection.

Yes they changed the plan for reasons unknown. Now what?

They changed the plan or they just simply lied?

And what about all the people that got PS+ for what they promised since E3, regarding the PS+ version of Driveclub?

without numbers to support those statements, it is referencing ambiguous content

I think people have taken "a few" quite literally to mean only 3 of each would be missing. Had they said we were getting 80-90% of the full game I could certainly understand the frustrations.

To me this is much more than a demo as I can't say I've ever played a demo with this much content.

Each to their own but I'm happy with what we are getting and I think it relates to what we've been told all along.
