It's your own fault for entering the thread.

If you want surprises don't go into threads like this and wait till it's officially announced and then you will still be surprised. Yeah, you will know the name but you wont know any about the game and stay off all blogs/sites/forums that deal strictly with video games and E3 will blow your fucking mind.

It's like pro wrasslin. If you read dirt sheets you will never be surprised, if you read video game forums you will never be surprised.

It's possible to assess a rumor like this independent form its source.

Do the screenshots look like something that someone could have easily photoshopped? Are there screenshots of a game, or only a logo? Are there multiple of them? Do they show any signs of being from a different game? Is the scope of the screenshots within the realm of something a hoaxer could make in a short period of time? Do they resemble other games from the purported developer? Has there been any supporting evidence anywhere else?

I would propose these look like an actual video game that has both From's art direction and technology. We know Yoshida hinted at something along these lines at one point as well, as we know that From Software has both senior and non-senior staff that worked on Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1 that was unaccounted for in Dark Souls 2.

Now, obviously the logo for the studio and the game could have been faked much easier, but in context there's not too much reason to disbelieve them.

Nah Sony owns the Demon Souls IP. Like I said earlier most likely scenario is Sony trying to build a unique identity for this game, separated from the souls games. Which imo is smart.

Hum, I'm not convinced, it doesn't look like a current-gen only title to me, unless those are very old images. It makes sense tho.

Why would it be? If dude wanted to make another souls game, Dark Souls 3 is waiting. Why make another just to call it Demon's Souls 2 or Project Beast?

That would be my thought as well. Just from the addition of guns and the apparent amount of enemies on screen at once make it immediately a bit different looking from the Souls series.

I think it almost certainly has to be fairly different from the Souls games simply because I can't see Sony stepping on NAMCO's toes nor do I think From would want to step on their toes or take away from Dark Souls. The shotgun alone would suggest that it's going a different route.

I like From a lot, but they're honestly far from the being the best devs when it comes to graphics.

It would be hardly surprising for a current-gen From game to only look slightly better than wherever they are right now.
