A company being excited for their new game is a huge slap in the face to all the fans that liked their old games.

Here's a good video of Incognito describing what Warhawk single player was supposed to be like, with footage. Definitely think they got ahead of themselves on just what was possible on PS3, which is evident by the fact that they had to scrap that portion of the game.

And I can see the argument that PS2 already covers full scale warfare for PS4, but they are so far apart in gameplay. I know I'm hoping against hope here, but at least I'm not the only one.

I remember like it was yesterday playing it at E3 06 when the single player was still in. The volumetric clouds blew me away back then...

We're so uncoordinated haha

I just pasted it in.

Before this gets too out of hand, this is my last upload TheRealTalker. I'll let you take over.

New passengers are: thuway, licktheenvelope, properpropaganda, TheNac, Gromph, Pandacon, and Lemondish.

Plus I swapped in Nicko's new avatar.

sweeeeeet....

this is like the gaf version of where's waldo.

You simply have do admit it. The IP is deader than dead.

There is no "Hawk" IP. Warhawk is its own IP, Starhawk is a completely different IP. Furthermore, Starhawk is only loosely based off of Warhawk, but is in no way a sequel to Warhawk.

The Starhawk IP is absolutely dead sure, but there's still a decent amount of interest in the Warhawk IP. I wouldn't call it "deader than dead," but I would say it's a long shot. We know Dylan Jobe pitched the Warhawk 2 concept to Sony back around September, and since then we haven't heard a word. So there is actually a slim chance it could be at E3 and definitely not as completely out of the blue as say people hoping for Agent to be at E3 when there has been no talk surrounding it for years.

it would have been nice if Sony gave us a tag line or something for the event..would be easier to find a theme to decorate the avatars

It actually doesn't matter. I'm talking about both.
Warhawk and Starhawk. The IP is finished.
If Sony wants to resurrect an old IP, they will look after another one. Warhawk had its chance.

This makes no sense. Warhawk had it's chance, yes, and it was quite successful. If I remember correctly it was a pretty big deal during the early days of PSN. And then it left the scene on a positive note.

Saying that Warhawk has no appeal because Starhawk flopped is such a stupid thing to say. Also my point still stands, Warhawk 2 was pitched to Sony and we never heard back on how that went. So even if slim, Warhawk has a better chance of appearing at E3 than any other random old Sony IP aside from maybe Syphon Filter.

Dude, I really loved Warhawk (and hated Starhawk with a passion).
But Warhawk is finished. There is no way we're gonna see another Warhawk on the PS4.
btw. Old IP? Welp, Arc the Lad will make a comeback, as it seems ;)
Just like Shadow of the Beast.

It feels like you're trying to help me move on or something, but man I already accepted years ago that we will likely never see another Warhawk title. That doesn't mean it is dead, especially when a sequel was recently pitched. Of course that doesn't mean it'll happen either, but I haven't seen any evidence to support that the IP is dead like you suggest.

One thing that totally pissed me off was the canceled single-player part :/
I'm a single-player gamer + I really liked Warhawk on the PSX.
Still bitter! >_<

Never played the original on PSX and got hooked on Warhawk because of the multiplayer, but the way they described the singleplayer,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9FHmfmPDUo&t=6m22s

I mean, that is still something we have never seen in any game as far as I'm aware. Not to that extent. At this point I would just like someone to try something similar, doesn't have to be Warhawk and doesn't even have to be Sony.

Yeah, it was interesting. But it was "too big" for a studio like Incog.
Too bad :(

warhawk was an ass of a game and so was starhawk. I had been playing superior multiplayer titles on PC and I simply never understood the love for warhawk. The shooting mechanic was absolutely broken, the infantary combat was completely broken and unfun. And when I joined the game in mid 2010 or 2011 I was being dominated in the air by warhawk vets.

The Battlefield series on PC was eons ahead of Warhawk and I simply didn't like it at all. That being said Warhawk was a mix of Battlefield and Unreal Tournament 2004, and even UT2K4 was more fun than warhawk.

I am glad the series is dead

That's the problem, Warhawk was at its peak in 2007. By the time you played it the only players left were series veterans who would punish you for the slightest mistake. The games lack of single player meant you had to jump in online and learn the game the hard way. Part of the games long term problem was its high difficulty for new players, when old players left no new players could take their place as they'd be put off by the extremely steep difficulty curve.
