I watched the E3 '09 TLG trailer again yesterday for the first time in a good few months. It still manages to stir the heart like it always did before. And every time it's over I always think to myself "damn, which one of those adorable fuckers is gonna snuff it at the end."

It was asked earlier the best way to watch this live, I'd really recommend Sony's Live Events Viewer on the PS3. I had a perfect HD stream last year and it has the advantage of working from your PS3 so it's on your TV and leaves your PC/Mac to access places like GAF if you want to. You need to download it from the SCEA Store but I'm in the UK and I had no issues using it at all last year.

Don't think the App has hit the PS4/Vita yet or anywhere outside of the SCEA region but it's easy enough to access wherever you are.

I should be able to catch the earlier ones, but this one is just to late to watch it live.

I like to think that, since Ueda seemingly set out to make the most depressing video game ever with Shadow of the Colossus, he might have always had a happier resolution in mind for his next game. Just to shake things up a little.

Ahhh, who am I kidding, the griffin was doomed from the beginning.

Is it weird to say one of the reasons I'm looking forward to TLG is that I know its going to provoke me emotionally?

Im not saying I am "looking to cry" but I certainly think it will be emotionally rewarding.

I think that's the main reason why so many are still determinedly waiting on hand and foot to play it, even after all these years of silence and supposed development hell. Team ICO always had a knack of engaging with the player emotionally through subtle and minimalist means. People just want more games of that ilk to give them those desired feels.

ICO had a bittersweet ending. It didn't pull the rug out from underneath you with a grim twist like SotC did, but it was still quite sad nonetheless.
Ueda pretty much confirmed during an interview that the beach sequence was a dream, and that Yorda never made it off the island.

Good call.

Also, I'd bet PlayStation will stream the show on PS4 from their Twitch channel.

I know I certainly want to "feel" during these experiences and I think that is why I am drawn to Sony so much as a publisher.

Journey, TLoU, Uncharted 3, Shadow of the Colossus have all made me attached on an emotional level.

Really hope we get more of that in the future.

^^^ No problem! :)

Definitely! I'm away from my computer for the next couple hours, but I'll add you both when I can.

I don't think TLG will end with either of them dying. Ueda has to know we all expect it, so he'll surprise us, I'm sure.

Gotta hitch a ride on that badboy through the Great Wide Tub. If you're able! Thanks!

It occurs to me that it might be easier for people who want on the train to PM me. That way I don't have to skim through a bunch of replies to find them, and the thread won't be filled with people asking. I'll still post the picture here though, of course!

I'm exactly the same, even down to those examples you listed (I'd add Flower, Rain, Heavy Rain and ICO in there as well). I think over the course of many years playing games, I've developed a preference for Sony over others largely because of its games' ability to elicit an emotional response. And also because they aren't risk-averse and actually do pump out new IPs with some regularity which keeps things exciting.

Wow. That is immense.

Well, I was going to go back andadd Flower and Heavy Rain, haven't played Rain or ICO yet myself but will.

I hear Tearaway is pretty powerful itself as well.

This as well, i managed last year to get a download link of the recorded stream the next day copied it to pen and watched on tv ,but would be great if there is a link provided that is spoiler free.

Right before E3 there will be a GAF thread with links to all conferences for all the late viewers who don't want to be spoiled. Just bookmark/subsribe the thread and you are save.

Just open it and click the conference you want to see. This is always working pretty good and mods keep the thread clean from any spoilers.

I remember last year, I pulled all-nighter to watch Sony E3 from 2005 to 2012 waiting for 2013 conference lol. Can't wait for it.
