As far as this show being a success for Sony, I think it's important that it ends with people thinking that it was a show about AAA games. Whether Sony likes it or not, there are quite a few fans that are annoyed with how much Sony has focused on indies. You can see it on this board and you can really see it if you ever check their Youtube channel whenever they announce a new indie game. That's not to say that they can't show any indie games there, but they have to pack enough of a punch with their AAA titles that it's what people are really focusing on.

I actually think that Sony not announcing so many AAA games is what's playing a big role in the negativity being directed toward indies. It's frustrating some people and that frustration is being redirected toward those indies.

What?! Can you point to the page in that thread where it started?

Page 45. It was really just one poster so it's not the way it sounds. And he had good intentions, he was referring to somebody else that contributes to the blog, not youknowwho himself but either way, no sense can come from that place it's best to avoid talking about it.

Indies need to take a back seat this E3. Bring out the big guns. The main knock against PS4 is the exclusive AAA titles.

If there's anything that I've learned about Sony the past few years, it's that they have a pretty good eye for what the community wants. I don't doubt there will be indies present at the show but I think they are cognizant of the fact that lots of people want to see what their studios have been working on and see what they can do. They announced a ton of indies just a couple weeks ago so I only expect to maybe see some higher profile ones on stage. They probably know that this is going to be the "Microsoft Strikes Back" year and will want to flex their first party/hardware's muscle.

That said, they probably won't completely cut indies out of their conferences from this point on since they've shown that they're willing to provide an incredible opportunity for tiny devs to showcase their games at a major press conference. That's a huge part of why the indie scene has gravitated to them.

indies and free 2 play games are big selling points for the PS4 IMO. Games like Warframe, Planetside 2 and even outlast generate positive hype for the ps4 and aren't even available on the competing system.

F2P games and indies need to be part of the e3 conference without a doubt. Sony shouldn't rely on them too heavily though

There's nothing wrong with Playindiestation4 as a short term gap solution, but AAA games have to come soon before the masses start to murmur... Especially if MS comes out with a ton of 3rd party money-hats at E3 as some are rumoring.... That will be a tough day for Sony.

Why do these money-hat rumors remain? I truly doubt Microsoft is going to be able to do that from the position that they are in. They had a better chance of buying up exclusives before this gap occurred. Sony's worldwide lead is growing and publishers are cognizant of this. The Xbox division isn't made out of money, MS as a whole is. The Xbox division can't afford to buy everything that is available.

I think due to the excitement RIME might be the centre indie, or the Witness and No Mans Sky. So ill be happy if they show 2/3.

Im sure Sony will show plenty of AAA.

I think the "problem" is that they announced so many indie games that people somehow think the AAA games they announced got deleted.

The upcoming AAA games so far are Deep Down, Uncharted, The Order, Driveclub, Guilty Gear Xrd, TLG, Project Beast (if it's real of course), and Lily Bergamo.

"mid tier" indie games: Rime and Everybody's Gone to Rapture.

I think that's a pretty diverse set of games if someone wants to ignore indie games. I wonder if people will stop complaining about indie games after E3. The AAA only group will have some gameplay footage of the already announced AAA games and new announcements to feed on.

I just started playing Syphon Filter for the first time and I'm really enjoying it aside from some control issues.

Having a next gen version would be awesome.

Could somebody help me out with an avatar (8 years old member here, turned into a junior because my email address was hacked...snif) so I that I could embark on one of the trains...
Please.

I understand what you're saying. But the last new AAA PS4 only game that Sony announced was Uncharted. And the one before that was The Order. Their other games were announced at the PS4 unveiling last February. They have what many believe is the best first party development team and they really don't have much to show for it on the PS4 at the moment. The studios that haven't announced their games already have had an additional year+ to work on their games. It's really time for Sony to show their hand. They can't continue to sit on these indie announcements as if they're making everyone happy.

It's going to be challenging for somebody to just pick an avatar for you since nobody knows what you like, like you do. Just go to google and search for forum avatars, pick one, and upload it. Easy as pie as long as the image isn't too large.

Also, can somebody add me to the hype train in one of the images. I guess it's finally time to cave in before all the tickets are sold out. Thanks ahead of time to that awesome person

Looking at them right now. God, I suck at all things computer related!

Gears stared development in January of this year and they are going to show gameplay? That game is not coming until 2016 at the earliest. So fake…

EA got Star Wars rights last May and they had a teaser for Battlefront 3. Making super quick teasers for hype purposes is possible, and Microsoft absolutely needs it so I wouldn't be surprised.

Edit: Just noticed that by game play you meant actual game play. My bad. >_>

It's hilarious how these list don't even do their basic research.

MS had trademarked several titles like "Ori and the Blind Forest", "Tentacles:Enter the Mind" and "Eden Falls' recently. Realistically, we'd be seeing them at E3 as well.

Everyone give me your top 3 requested games you wish to see at Sony's E3 presser:

1. The Last Guardian
2. Uncharted 4
3. Guerrilla Games' RPG
