This game was on PS Plus last year.

DD seems like a game that I would enjoy immensely. The combat and artistic design seem to be it's greatest perks. The fact that it have a panavision-like aspect ration doesn't faze me, but poor framerate is not something I would look forward too. Since I lack a console, and have no interest in getting one, a PC port would be ideal.
LoL yah BitterBlack is a nasty bitch until you get to at least level 60+ not to mention the fact that after you run through it once it changes up the location and monster types through out the whole dungeon and becomes a whole fuckton harder in some specific rooms. "Oh so the first time through was only kinda tough on you with 1 normal dragon? This time it's 3 dragons of 3 different elemental types that are all backing each other up. Enjoy!"
sogud!! And enjoy the pawn! She's been through a lot (including a sex change!!) and knows how to fuck shit up. Keep in mind tho that she is level 200 so certain fights will go from exciting and tense to almost boring with her around and your experience gain will reflect the fact that you have a monster 150 levels above you in your party!
There is only one true vocation and it is Assassin. Every thing else is just grinding for augments
It's an undeniably flawed game but I'll be damned if I didn't love it so much to name it my #2 GOTY 2013. Needs PC port or sequel or something badly. Just give me more.
Sorcerer even easierThe only class anyone needs is a tenfold flurry spamming ranger. No needs to mess around with other convoluted strategies, just aim, fire and say goodbye to any unfortunate thing that was in your way.
The lack of actual characters, instead of "pawns", is also baffling, and makes the story basically nonexistent, at least for me.
If someone's planning to get this game I'd whole-heartedly recommend the 360 version over the PS3 version.
I played some of the PS+ version of the game and then saw my brother playing the 360 version. It runs noticeably smoother. There's some screen tearing but the increased performance far outweighed that if you ask me. 360 version still doesn't run even near perfectly but the PS3 version can be prettttty rough at times.
Yeah, there really needs to be a PC/PS4/XBO port of this game.
Honestly at this point, I'm thinking Capcom views the game as too much of a money sink to even do that. They probably think they already poured enough cash into it with not enough return, so why risk spending more on a PC port? Yet, the game's most nagging issues are PERFORMANCE related. It makes the lack of a port even more maddening.

I suffer from motion-sickness if a game goes under 20fps. The aging PS3/360 were pushed too hard these last few years, and I just couldn't stand it anymore. There's no hate here for consoles, but with a PC I can adjust the settings and have a decent experience without ending up at the toilet. It sucks that I'm going to miss out on this highly-praised game, but Capcom should have known that these types of games sell well when you put them up on Steam.
Now I want to see which of them killsfaster:Matt Daimon
Holy Enchantment + Blast Arrows + Conqueror's Periapt x4 x Tenfold Flurry
vs
Holy Enchantment + Demon's Periapts + Charged Holy Bolt
Ain't nobody got time for thatwhat if im fighting 3 dragons that won't let me use me spells? what then silly sorcerer
and metal golems, magic aint shit to them.
I already loved BBI the first time through, so being greeted with crazy things like what you're describing made me happy as hell. I love the other arena rooms which spawn new enemy groups if you leave and re-enter. This game makes you crave every encounter, especially in BBI.
The Lost City in BBI 2.0 was hilarious..6-7 Eliminators, 3 Living Armor, 2 spell spamming Wyverns, and a chance that a Cursed Dragon will spawn on top of all of that
Nah, Mystic Knight is too sexy man. Painting a target with Explosive Volley while your pawns trigger them for immense explosive damage. Ricochet Hunter is so good it's damn near obscene. Nine Fold Bolt is beautiful death, it makes Firedrakes little more than mewling babies. Magick Rebalancer is essentially a built in Demon's Periapt you can stack 4 times to turn you into a magical monster. It just goes on and on.
DA turned one of the worst classes in vanilla into the best. Ranger is also delicious as hell, too. Their skills are OP as hell, but adding Blast Arrows or using a rusted longbow = you're cheating, sir.
Thanks OP, I've considered downloading it in the past (and angered when I missed the PS plus deal), but I finally took the plunge and grabbed it.
Now enjoying a 2 hour+ wait to download.

That move is awesome, but it has nothing on Ranger having the ranged equivalent of Brain Splitter (an already OP move) and Sorceror's simply charging and releasing holy bolts. Or Mystic Archer turning things into electrified goo with Ricochet Hunter in any confined space.
I was actually considering picking this game up at some point, and this thread reminded me of that.
So I figured what the hell, and just bought the PS3 version through Amazon. Should be a fun time.
But who can kill death earlier
Sorcerer temping as magic Archer that's who
Eppy Thatcher said:My main build was a sword and bow Assassin. I eventually settled out of the night time only augs and had relied on clout, autonomy, sinew and opportunism (makes attacking monsters while you are climbing them do crazy damage) to the point where as long as i could climb onto something and Dire gouge it the fight was basically over. Add into that the assassin rings specifically for an AMAZINGLY buffed up Powder Blast and Dire Gouge skills and it just wasn't funny anymore. There is nothing like climbing a beast and slipping that gouge in and watching almost entire health bars drop off of bosses in seconds. And of course Blast Arrows or the Rusted sword + the poison buff augment are ridiculous...
edit: did i mention stun locking dragons with the enhanced powder blast (which can knock off more than half a health bar at the same time?) Cause stun locking dragons. Beast. Mode.
InfiniDragon said:Since people are posting their class thoughts, just need to clear up that whatever class you think is the most OP is wrong unless you say dagger Assassin.
Ranger, MK, Sorc don't even remotely approach the level of cheese of an Assassin that's trying to be overpowered. Auto-counter anything in the game for obscene damage, go invincible whenever you feel like it and have some of the hardest hitting attacks in the game.
I enjoyed it. It was a fairly decent low budget game. It had a few annoying things like the constantly repeated dialogue and enemy respawns, but I had some fun with it for a couple of weeks. I would like to see a sequel.

Assassin with Snake Bite can stunlock Death, so they can do it earlier. It's just boring and takes forever. I know what you mean about MA, though. Catch death in a hallway with Magick Rebalancer x4 + Ricochet Hunter and you'll shred a ton of his health bars. I don't think I've seen someone OHKO Death with ANY vocation, though.
I remember running a Mystic Archer with Opportunism, Clout, Acuity and some other stuff while using the Sapfire Daggers (induce defense down debilitation). I would pop Immolation, jump on an enemy and start slashing. The combination of the boosted attack and magick attack, the lowered defense, Opportunism boosted offenses and Immolation = HP melts away. I've used Dire Gouge too. It's actually my preferred over Thousand Kisses because it lets me use the much more powerful Cursed Light against.Matt Daimon
Have you tried stunlocking a Firedrake (highest damage threshold in the game) with a Ranger from way off? It's hilarious. He never gets out of that flailing animation.
That move is awesome, but it has nothing on Ranger having the ranged equivalent of Brain Splitter (an already OP move) and Sorceror's simply charging and releasing holy bolts. Or Mystic Archer turning things into electrified goo with Ricochet Hunter in any confined space. For these vocations there's no need to use a counter because everything is dead from a ways off.
Fake Edit: For anyone not familiar with the game, don't worry about any of this. The vocations only become like this after you've run through all of them and pick up useful augments, stat boosts, and acquired the active skills needed.
I seem to remember Capcom saying it was their biggest budget game at the time, but RE6 over took it.
I do think we'll see another one, with Deep Down they've already got an engine and lots of assets to work with.
I have and it's glorious. I managed to Lyncean Sight + Preemption + all my standard augs a drake in the southern hills and it just destroyed him. Instantly rolling on the floor with almost 3 bars lost like "WAT was that???!!!"
Preemption is just ridiculous. Straight up Double Dmg hilarity.
Eppy Thatcher said:I was convinced that Deep Down was a working title for a new Dragon's Dogma and when it was clearly stated that wasn't the case I was .... displeased.

As for my Arisen and Pawn? I roll with Joel and Ellie.

Oh wow, that's awesome.
Preemption is amazing, especially like you said with Lyncean Sight or using something like Cloudburst Volley, Ten-Fold Flurry, or Nine-Fold Bolt. Ah, gotta love Dragon's Dogma for being flexible enough to try all this.
Have you ever tried High Miasma? I LOVE that spell. It absolutely dissolves enemies.
Seeing that tornado spell and the dragon breathing fire gave me such a strong Dragon's Dogma feeling, man. To say I was disappointed with the Deep Down reveal as a F2P game would be an understatement.
I have to be cautious when talking about this game, cause when I mentioned I prefer this over both Skyrim and Dark Souls, the wolves come to attack.
