Hyrule Warriors : official website opens, new screenshots/artworks

Musou games have had sexual character designs forever. Let's see to what extent they are used on the boxart.

WAIT HOLD ON

This one has a woman on it in a halter-top

And it's a Wii/Nintendo-involved game!

Guess that settles that, Shia is going to be on the boxart.

Yeah, it's not uncommon for a woman who wields magic to wear stuff like that in pop culture. Not great, but it's all over the place:

It's not even just magic, Sylvannas is a Ranger/Hunter and she is FAR more revealing then J could ever hope to be. It's any ranged character that doesn't rely on Armor, artist just go crazy trying to make them look cool.

Men have the same kinda thing, except people tend to make them look demonic/evilish which means almost nothing showing and glowing eyes and sharp points every where.

As long as they're not engaged in physical arm-to-arm combat, they can wear whatever they want for all I care. It's boobplates and stuff that are dumb.

If they're engaged in melee combat, every warrior should wear something practical, like:

Well, we have Link and Impa beating up scores of enemies with a combo system while facing off against a Bayonetta Villain? Okay.

If the combo system is awesome and I can juggle enemies between myself and the second player.. GOOD. I want to be able to toss a Moblin into the air with my blows and send it flying to the second player who will volley it back toward me.

My favorite part of Kingdom Hearts is beating up a bunch of enemies at once and launching them into the air. If this game lets me do that.. I'm sold.

...::Shakes head::

No. That's not what this game is going to be.

One Piece was the one where I was googling for the cover and thought "This is totally going to prove me wrong," because why wouldn't the boxart have Nami and Robin right on the front?

But I guess the brand power of Luffy overcomes the lure of flesh bait.

Yeah I don't see this happening, at least not like how your post seems to think.

Maybe one player will hit one up, and the other will maybe catch them in a big attack. However I really doubt we see a real juggle system with people swapping back and forth with some stylish combos.

Hey, Luffy is the most revealing one anyway, so people want some sweet flesh, so long as it's Luffy.

You have never played a Musou game I take it.

Also like half (or was it more than half?) of One Piece's fan base is female(in Japan anyways), a startling amount being women over 40.

Looking further, she also has the white hair and a red-orange tribal-like tattoo on one of her legs where as Impa has it on her face. So there are a few connections.

If she is a Sheikah, I think it's also interesting that unlike Impa, who is as loyal and tirelessly guards the Royal Family, Shia has basically betrayed the Royal Family for her own desires and intentions. Imo, she could be some type of Sheikah sorceress who grew tired of living in the shadows of servitude. The scenario reminds me of TP's Zant in some regards. iirc,Sheikahs have a very long and mysterious history in Hyrule so I would definitely like to learn more about them.

Well, assuming we're in a scenario where the Shiekah clan wasn't wiped out? This might be the best opportunity we get to see what they are like as a clan, as opposed to just getting 1 member of the clan a game, as usual.

I guess the final thing will be seeing if Shia has dem red eyes hiding underneath that helmet.

To illustrate

Last night, while playing DW8, I took a character who runs around the battlefield carrying a boat. Like, a boat. Something you ride in. A boat. I took this guy and went surfing around the battlefield, in my boat, slamming it into enemies, juggling them in the air as I rotated back and forth between swinging it at them and riding it into them. Then I'd switch off to using gloves and grappling enemies, throwing them all over the map, body slamming them into the ground, and doing back breakers without missing a beat.

Then used my musou attack to suplex Cao Cao and make him join me.

This is the kind of glorious stuff we can expect

Not really up to date on HW, but I was just wondering if the game is actually a Zelda game where you have dungeons and stuff or if it's just a beat-em up like from the teaser

I need to play more DW8! I stopped playing a bit ago because I'm tired as shit and I was getting my ass beat(I started on hard and this is my first Warriors game)

Sheikah are effectively Hyrule ninjas.

Suddenly Team Ninja's role becomes clear.

So...
You're saying we'll get Toon Link as a playable character and his weapon will be the King of Red Lions?
Why isn't this game out yet?

I totally did this with a friend in one of the PS2 games. Sometimes we just take one random grunt that is on the air and yell "dont let him fall to the ground" and keep juggilng him while fighting more enemies. Oh and there is that time I was running away from battle at 1% hp and my friend finished an enemy and tossed his body away, just for his body to land on me and kill me.

It's a beat'em up. It's being made by Koei, it looks like it's going to be a pretty serious take on a Musou game.

So you have to keep this in mind. This game isn't going to be Zelda: OOT. It's not going to be Other M. It's not going to be Bayonetta. The most we can hope for is that it's a SUPER SUPER SUPER good version of Dynasty Warriors 8:CE with Zelda characters.

Principate

Saint Titanfall
This game should at least have, I mean I least have red and blue tunics for Link. There's been a distinct lack of those in recent 3D Zelda games I've played (didn't finish skyward sword yet)

I've never played a Musou game. Closest I got was watching a friend play the very first one on his launch PS2, so I'm all for this.

About Shia, I think she looks awesome. Great cleavage is a plus, I'd say the only thing that would ruin it for me is if there are lots of cutscenes featuring an overwhelming amount of jiggling. I like a little tasteful fanservice, but too much can be a turn off for me (SoulCalibur ladies for example)

And yeah I agree with the post said a while back, I'm sure there are lots of hot cosplayers already working on their Shia cosplay (hopefully Impa too, because she looks AWESOME!)

Even better, they should go Four Swords on that shit and have special Four Swords combo attacks.

I get the feeling that this is going to be a lot of people's first musou games.

And yeah, people will cosplay sexy designs whether they're interested in the game or not. Tis how the world works.

What's a good Musou game to get right now? All this talk have given me a hankering and I've played too much of Gundam 3 which is the only one I have.

DW8 XL and Warriors Orochi 3 are the two best you could get now.

DW5 Empires/SW2 Empires are great cheap options.

I still feel that Lu Bu will appear.

The same way that no Non One Piece characters were in the Pirate Warriors game, I expect that no Non-Nintendo characters will appear in Hyrule warriors.

If this is nintendo's ONLY warriors game for a while, I wouldn't be surprised to see other nintendo cameos in it. I definitely do not think any dynasty warriors characters will make an appearance.

ahh, true, I totally forgot about them getting wiped out. I think I remember hearing about it. It's been awhile since I read some Zelda lore. And yea it could be the best chance, but we're definitely going to get to see Impa in action :]

Zelda: Other S

lol perfect

So disappointed there just wasn't much to her in TP. I really liked the design and really wanted to see her cut loose.

For the record, I agree with your point, but it is funny how Samurai Warriors 3 did have its boxart modified for NA.

Right looks better. Left looks like she's falling out of her dress.
