Citizen Kane is a piece of shit. I'm just posting this here so whenever Hollywood hires me to write to Citizen Kane 2: Reloaded I can come back here and delete this post.

If anything this thread shows his dedication to the source which is a good thing real fans of the series should be thrilled about. No way he gets sacked for this silly stuff.

Mods have deleted threads before at the insistence of the OP. I'm guessing Gary didn't ask. This is not a new.

And what happened to forum camaraderie? What's with all this weird dog piling on a current member? I really don't like this antagonistic attitude toward other members in good standing.

"good standing"

And who decides what people's standing is?
Sounds too me like NeoGAF is serving the interests of fascist rich cats, while the Junior members have to struggle and fight over every little scrap of "standing".

I say it's time we say nay to the celebrities of GAF, and start thinking of the common gaffers - the ones without a name, the ones forgotten, the ones juniored.

Viva la revolucion!

This is fucking hilarious.

But what's even more hilarious is that this guy has written two of the worst films I've seen in recent memory. Book of Eli was shameful and After Earth is one of the worst movies of the past ten years.

Kind of sad that Whitta's going to get a bunch of blowback over straightforward and obviously correct opinions.

Wait, what am I thinking. Since Whitta is correct, that means he has the high ground. Which means he can't possibly lose.

Wow. Wow.

I will post my initial reaction. What a fucking shill.

It's Hollywood dude. I have said some seething red eyed shit at Lucas and the prequels and I would fucking do anything to write a new film. I would be a little worried about shit I wrote in the past too.

Doesn't excuse him but you guys are fucking crazy.

This is my thought. It's funny to see, but I hope he doesn't get in any serious shit over this. People who think the Special Editions and Prequels sucked are exactly who I want working on Star Wars now.

I... Don't know what to think.

I understand going back and editing, hell, he'd be obligated to. Such is the downside of being in the limelight. Personally I think the chaos that ensues after to be the immature part. Hilarious, but immature.

It's just a forum. Not even a media outlet.

I do wonder about some of the dirty laundry I've probably aired out online though.

I wouldn't worry too much about Whitta's employment being impacted by his old posts. I'd be more worried they might discover he worked on After Earth. Unless he edits that for the DVD release.

Not always does rational opinions win in the end. Apparently so with Star Wars fanboys.

Yeah, agreed. This is why I never link my real name to forums. It's always a bad idea to put yourself out there (in a non-professional setting), because it can come back to bite you in the ass.

Unlike others, I don't really think him editing his posts makes him shady or a bad person. I would want to do the same thing (would suck to lose your job over something you said years ago on a forum). Even if it was his honest opinion. Imagine if your employer had access to stuff you say in private, or stuff you say on forums.

But again, I guess that's the risk you take when you put your real name on a board. Most of us enjoy anonymity on here.

I would say there's an unwritten, possibly written obligation to do so anyway.

I mean it sucks that it has to be that way, but that life.

I don't see an issue with what he said either, he just wants to protect himself. I'm sure he's already talked to Lucas about certain things and wants to be real professional about it. Plus it's not like disliking the prequels or the special editions aren't a popular opinion (matter of fact it's the complete opposite).
