Where are the monsters? Why do they keep only showing the human enemies? I was hoping this game was going to be mostly supernatural enemies, but it seems this isn't the case.

I get where the complaint come from.
Maybe this is another uncanny thing. When you game look super realistic or cinematic, your brain expect more dynamic or organic reaction.
So when the game start showing the usual gamey stuff, it stood out.

But I came for the graphic and it's over my expectation on that front. I believe RAD can deliver on gameplay base on their past works.

As usual, more than half of GAF hates new footage. Looks good to me. Graphics are obviously great, and while the gameplay looks standard, that's fine by me. Not every game needs to reinvent the wheel or bend genres.

Looks absolutely amazing.

I don't get the generic gameplay comments. The gameplay in Uncharted/TLOU was by no means revolutionary and look how those games turned out.

Was about to post this. It's apparently from a 10 months old build and was originally intended for gamescom, later for VGX, but pulled from both.

Yeah I was surprised that I already saw bit bit before in the new footage.

I'm really wondering why Sony haven't release any latest one.

Gun looks really cool. Still going to be pissed if this doesn't have MP.

Also, if you aren't checking posters saying "OMFG, AWESOME AWESOME AWWEEEEEEESSOME!!!!!" based off of 2 minutes of gameplay, quit complaining about people saying the same clip looked lame or whatever.

Thank you. You can't use the the notion of "how can you say it looks boring, it's only two minutes of gameplay" and then turn around saying how great it looks. They showed us what they showed us, so therefore we can only comment and give our opinions on what was shown. The game may turn out to be much more than what we are led to believe, but we're talking about the gameplay that's being shown right now. Regardless of how little is shown, you can still give an opinion on what was shown looks boring and uninspired, likewise with having the opinion that it looks amazing and you can't wait to play it. Why does this even have to explained?

I think I understand the reasoning behind showing this segment. It's exactly what the press had seen last year and the rest of us never got to. With the embargo lifting on Tuesday, this is basically a 'catch up' video. What I don't understand is why they had to do this on twitch. Terrible quality and so much stuttering!

It looks exactly like this ancient screenshot that Andrea wasn't proud to even post on their website. They took it down when it was brought to his attention. I won't be surprised if the build is exactly the same as the one the press had seen almost a year ago.

wait, so it's sort of what happened with driveclub regarding the embargo? That means we might get a high quality video from eurogamer and possibly some direct screens!

Gotta love the classic "it's an old build so that's why the gameplay looks like poo" argument.

This probably wasn't the best part of the game to show off in order to create hype. Still open minded about it despite not being into cinematic shooters at all.

So you are saying "the game looks so good, that we think it looks bad"

Or, the gameplay could just look a bit like an overplayed 3rd person shoooter with cover.

as a person who has a pre-order for this game what they showed is not doing it for me. the graphics are insane though! I will wait for e3 for final judgment.

I wasn't saying the game was gonna be bad, I'm sure it will be good, great even. Heck, I'll buy it once I get a PS4.

i agree they should show them in the next set of previews but given the snippets shown so far are clearly the intro of the game its too early to assume the monster percentage in the game

Visuals are amazing from a technical standpoint, yet I am missing some courage in trying something different (again: only talking about the visual standpoint). Had too much dark-in-dark-in-brown-in-brown-in-dark-in-grey games last generation.

Can't comment on gameplay yet. Looks solid, maybe a little clunky. No more, no less.

I was so excited when I saw this thread pop up...and I loved the footage. Was it completely innovative? No. Did it show off every environment in the game? No. It was gorgeous and got me excited. But damn...the hyperbole in this thread.

I'm pretty sure this game will be the next visual benchmark.

The gameplay looks pretty solid. I'm sure this game will deliver an awesome experience in the overall ..
It's just a shame will lack of co-op or MP. Maybe in the next one :)

I'm sure that footage made people excited who were going to be excited no matter what was shown, but good lord that was dull as hell. I've never felt it such a chore to sit through a two minute video.

Technically the graphics look amazing, obviously. But that's all I can say in the positive after watching that "hype" video.

But despite those things it didn't really look to offer anything new gameplay-wise. Just to be clear I'm basing my opinion off everything we've seen so far. Yes the story and setting seem interesting, and I'm sure they'll have some great weapons, but so far I haven't seen any of that translate into some new, interesting, fun looking gameplay. Now what should it do to look fun and interesting? I don't really know, and thankfully it's not my job to know. But I'd just like to see something (gameplay-wise) that I haven't already seen before in TPSs. Which is why yes, based on what I've seen so far, and despite it looking absolutely incredible, I'd describe it as generic. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong when the game is finally released.

But you agree that you were wrong about the generic comment? Those three factors alone make certain this is anything but a generic game. A generic game would be another alien fighting bald marine thing lol

As for gameplay, I honesty don't think they are trying to differentiate it too much. I think they are going for a solid TPS in which the weapons, destructibility, and other smaller elements like QTE's set it apart from other TPS in the market. I do agree however they have done a bad job at showcasing some of these and sadly in this instance it seems to be an issue with Sony and not R@D. For example we haven't seen the investigation elements of the game in action.

Ideally we will see a long gameplay segment at E3
