There will be haters who dismiss the game for being on a console other than the one of their choice, but maybe some people actually dislike what they saw? A lot of the disinterest seems to come from Sony showing a short clip that may not be very representative of the final game anyway. That's how I feel at least.

Same here but I'm still interested.

Agreed, but people like to complain for the sake of it.. i wonder what exactly some of you guys were expecting honestly.

We've already known the type of game this was for some time now. So if people are complaining about the genre now , that's nothing more than complaining for the sake of complaining.

The video is too short to be saying that the game is generic. Like trying to review a game after playing 5 minutes without trying everything the game has to offer.

This.

One of the best ways to tell when someone has an agenda, is by watching their reaction when something undeniably good comes out.

This game is going to be a great game, but those crapping on it have an alternative agenda for the most part.

This probably says more about your own biases than anyone else's. "Undeniably good"? Nothing is above criticism, and that's what discussion forums are all about.

It just looks fun to me? I haven't played Ratchet and Clank. It combines a lot of things to what looks like an enjoyable package. The Order 1886 looks like a piece of shit in a nice package to be honest. Exactly the kind of gaming experience I loathe.

Well, SO looks like a 10 minute fun at the start and 40 hours of boredom later in a nice package to me and The Order from what we know about the world it's set in looks like it can be one of the best games of this year. Opinions, they do exist.

You're too late.

Already several threads claiming that if you don't think The Order looks fun you're either a jaded asshole or an xbox fanboy.

And yet we have people trying to interject their love of games like Gears of War and compare Sunset Overdrive in this thread. Let's not get it twisted.

Looks good to me, I love the setting, time period and what they are trying to do. Going to get my penny dreadful/league of extraordinary gentleman on in this game.

Holy crap you guys have written a ton. Still going through all of the comments here.

Regardless of good, bad, or everything else comments, I'm just glad to see people talking about our game again. I know it's generic for me to say "stay tuned for more information in the future...", but it'll come, and will hopefully answer a lot of your outstanding questions.

Now all aboard the hype train to E3!
Welcome!

Cant wait to see more.

I hope you/Sony will choose something that blow us away, the two small gameplay videos you have shown this year has been mediocre at best. And i'm not even bashing the game, it's just that the sequences has been really out of context and... plain. Not something that you wanna show someone for a great first impression.

I've heard you can do a TPS and try new things while you are at it. This is just a rumor though. Complaining about complaining just for the sake of complaining?
Complaining about complaining about complaining.

Opinions, they do exist.

Never claimed anything else.

There's nothing wrong with the marketing. They released two teasers and we'll see a more full playthrough at E3. We just need to have some patience.
If that was the idea, they could have accomplished that without releasing these teasers. I mean what were we going to do? Not wait patiently?

I like the visuals, I like third person shooters, and I loooove the setting. Probably Day one for me.
I don't get the hate...Nope, I don't get it.

You always get the same clowns typing the same generic crap! This is exactly like what happened with Drive Club. Early build of game is shown and the haterz are out in force. Then when the latest build is shown nearly everyone is praising it??? What gives??? This looks like an early build shown in poor quality. From 3 minutes the haterz have already judged the finished product!

Step off, haterz

I saw a *lot* of positive reaction in this thread, stating that this game has the best visual we have ever seen.

There are few negative comments (opinions) and a few useless comments ... Please, don't focus on these people, they are few and they have time to waste. Go forward and pay attention to those people who have something useful and intelligent to share (positive and negative).

Please give us a taste of the monsters or tension when fighting them.....thats my most anticipated aspect of the game (apart form the story which is obviously spoilerific)

I see what you did there.

Here's what you guys gotta do at E3:

1. Show the monsters.

2. Show less linear play spaces.

3. Show investigative sequences.

Basically, what sets this game apart?

Agreed. People criticizing what was shown have every right to do so. Sony hasn't done much to prove them wrong yet. The short, out-of-context clips aren't something everyone can or should appreciate.

Shouldn't we wait til the embargo lifts next week with videos and impressions

Seems some haven't learned anything from driveclub

I was expecting boring gameplay. Doesn't mean I'm happy my expectations were met.

Why should I care? Why don't I just not buy the game? Because Sony only has the resources to fund so many game a year, and I really wish they spent those resources on something more fun.

I feel like I have to explain in every single post that yes, I know this was a short trailer. If the full game turns out to be different than this trailer it could be great.

You're from R@D? Prepare for some rough couple of pages of unjustified hyperbole in this thread.

I expect nothing less.

There's an event coming up where major publishers show off games to get people excited.

I wonder if they would hold back their big stuff for that event, instead of a random internet showcase.

Although the name escapes me.

I have been on gaf long enough to know which one likes which console.

To no surprise, most of the shitting came from the green camp.

Anyway, game looks amazing, well no...game looks better that any game shown ever...on any console or PC for the matter. Has an amazing setting and atmosphere, fantastic animation and voice acting. I'll judge the rest when I play it myself.

I thought this looked a lot better than the reveal they had a few months ago. It doesn't look like it's going to blow our minds in terms of gameplay, but I could go for a pretty shooter as long as they nail the shooting mechanics and tell a decent story.

I only just saw the footage now. Looked exactly (to a tee) like I was expecting it to. Not impressed at all. Never understood the hype for this game. TPS fans were really excited for a Victorian steampunky skin on their fav genre?

The gunplay from the segments they've shown, which is a good indicator of the game up to this point, looks pretty bad. Until they show something more substantial that really draws me in, it's hard to get too excited about it. And every "teaser" makes me like the game less, not more, which is the exact opposite reaction they're looking to draw from these showings.

And PS fans would say it looks generic and boring. What's your point?

I don't own either console and I think it looks boring as hell.

So from 3 minutes of poor quality video you've come to the conclusion that the game is boring??? Its obvious what your purpose on this thread is!

so at the end did the guy get grazed by a bullet and heal it up real fast wolverine-style or what? or was it the thing he drank?

From 3 minutes the haterz have already judged the finished product!
And again, people judge the media they're shown.

If people were blown away by how awesome this footage was would you be the first one to tell them they shouldn't expect the whole game to be awesome? Just that one part?

did you see how the camera was pulled out just far enough to show us the character's ass? wow what year is it 1999??

and the gun. it had a barrel. just like every other gun. based on victorian technology my nuts.

and why is ancient london so butt ugly with smoke stacks and smog. god fucking dammit

what shiiiiiiit.

release the demo already.

It wasn't an impressive section of gameplay to showcase, but the graphics look great and I really like the atmosphere.

One thing that stood out was when you're pulling the injured guy, your two teammates behind you don't really feel like they're doing much to shoot the bad guys. Which is really jarring given how near the enemies are and the fact they have their hands free to use their main weapons and you don't.

Even if the gameplay is nothing revolutionary, as long as it has tight controls and the level designs are great, then I'd be perfectly fine with the end product. Hell, Max Payne 3 didn't revolutionize 3rd person shooting, but it was still a fun game.
