Abraham Lincoln spotted. Civil War DLC confirmed?
It stretches along the whole frame. Look at the guy's ear.
UC1 was a cover based shooter at E3'06, Gears might have impacted the design, but it was already a action heavy third person shooter.
From the other thread.
They really should have showed the crime investigation/ exploration gameplay. Showing the basic mechanics of a TPS even if the setting, characters, and graphics are great won't leave good first impressions for a new IP in a new generation. It won't. No MP, no co op in campaign. Seems completely bizarre to me but I guess it's because we've only seen the Gears type shooting gameplay as opposed to the investigation stuff.
Does it still maintain the 1920 by 800 resolution?
Where are the other 1880 screens?
That was never a thing, it's 1080p with a 2.40:1 aspect ratio.

Lol OP, so lazy. Only posting 2 out of 6 pics? why? you want us to click on a polygon link for no reason? there isn't even an article, it's just the screens.
also i don't think those pics are direct feed, more like screencaps.
Which is 1920x800.
I don't think you know what that means. This is a level of chromatic aberration I'm happy with.
the older pic looks more game like and sparkly clean. But the newer one has better atmosphere, grity and mysterious vibe... It's not a downgraded, they are both different, but I like the newer version more.
I find it hard to believe Sony would have forced that change, just because Gears wasn't proven at all. Certainly they could see it, decide that's a better approach and clone it, but the idea it was 'counter programming' or whatever seems unlikely. Gears became a huge deal, but I doubt Sony would have been so confident about that so early that they'd push that on ND. It seemed very much to be taking from Tomb Raider, which already had a proven record of big sales numbers. And Gears was unveiled at E3 2005, ultimately walking away with a ton of "awards". Perhaps the change to a TPS occurred sooner but I don't think it can be denied that Uncharted was shaped in response to Gears.
He's right, it is 1920x800.That was never a thing, it's 1080p with a 2.40:1 aspect ratio.
Oh man, not this again.Which is 1920x800.

Have they even explained why they are doing that? I never understood their reasoning behind that decision.
Denied. We don't need multiplayer for everything.
Dunno, looks like a downgrade to me. The whole thing about the infiltration uniforms seems like they couldn't do that amount of detail in action scenes. I don't think anyone looked at the uniforms initially and thought they are over the top. They looked awesome.
To make it cinema-like.
I don't think you know what that means.
No, you mean filmic (their own words).

That's completely irrelevant. The amount of pixels rendered, not if they're scaled or not, determines the resolution. There's no scaling, there is no 1920x800.

Or it was simply because they hadn't done other uniforms at that time. I don't know how anyone could even think that those minor extra bling on the uniforms would make or break the performance of the game.
It wouldn't be an The Order: 1886 thread without another debate revolving around which resolution the game displays at.
It's not just the bling though. The whole thing looks less detailed.
I think Sony as a whole wanted more adult games versus the previous generation for sure, but this:Well, the way I see it, the (former) employee's comment that what we now know as Uncharted was changed to a TPS due to the success of "gritty shooters" on the X360 doesn't exactly leave a lot of candidates. I think he was just being somewhat diplomatic and didn't want to name names. You're right that Gears was an unknown quantity until release, however the game's strong pre-release showing surely would have instilled a pang of me-tooism within Sony higher-ups as the only other vaguely comparable franchise SCE would've had cooking at the time is Resistance.
I don't think means Gears, or even the 360, because it was too early to say Gears dominated, it was still years away from shipping. One of 2004's biggest hits was HL2, a move to a much more oppressive and nasty experience, GTA:SA had just been the biggest selling game ever, Riddick received wide acclaim. The industry was already moving in the darker thematic direction. The demographic was older and gritty shooters were really dominating
RAD should just quit beating around the bush and run it at 900p full screen.
Lol, it didn't take long did itIt wouldn't be an The Order: 1886 thread without another debate revolving around which resolution the game displays at.
The game has 4xMSAA, they have the bandwidth for 1920x1080 with some AA, they wouldn't go to 900p to provide a full screen option.I am betting the majority of people would prefer this over the black bars. I know I would. BF4 looks fine on PS4.

I have no doubt Gears shaped Uncharted, it certainly did, but that quote doesn't make sense in the idea Gears 'dominated' two years before it came out.

It's RAD's first console game (and first next gen and new ip); I was disappointed too but I'll trust their reasons for not doing it. If the game does well then perhaps a sequel will feature MP (just like the Uncharted series) but until then I'll be happy with only SP.Nobody's talking about "needing" it. But I want it when it's good. Gears had a surprisingly fun multiplayer, so did "The Last of Us" (at least that's what I've heard). I don't get why one should automatically dismiss the potential of a MP mode.

Nah the detail is the same , the lighting is better , in old one characters did not even cast a shadows .
