E3 2014 | Nintendo Digital Event

No, Nintendo is.

I failed to see them announcing the return of 3rd party support. Even their main supporter, Ubisoft, is sitting on a finished game waiting to see if the systems sells more.

The problem with Nintendo is that they don't evolve with the times. They're on a bubble and everything outside it doesn't matter.
I moved on with my gaming tastes and they've matured. Yoshi games don't do nothing for me. Sure they're charming, but they're not for me anymore. They're aimed at kids. Most of their games are. Problem is, today's kids don't care about that cute stuff. They want shooters. They want action games.

And this is what's wrong with Nintendo. They refuse to see that. They're sitting on a potential gold mine with Metroid and they don't use the IP. It could be Call of Duty or Halo big. But it's underused.

You probably will not admit this because, let's face it, Nintendo fans are the most sheltered creatures in gaming.

I think what you fail to understand is that many people are still Nintendo fans because they enjoy solid mechanics and stellar game design. It's not they love everything Nintendo, because... Nintendo! I'll take a Nintendo developed 2D platformer over everything I've seen yesterday any day regardless of artstyle. And I find it kind of funny to describe Nintendo as "in a bubble", because that's how I felt watching the conferences yesterday. Yes, AssCreed/Uncharted/Cod have "mature" artstyles, but they were never great games from a gameplay perspective. It's the same boring, focus testet shit we've seen over the past generation and I'm tired of it.

If you need gritty themes to enjoy a game and can't look past the appearence I feel truely sorry for you. grow the fuck up.

Can somebody gif Reggie's "Not my problem" pose from the the beginning of the event?

I think it was during the first Robot Chicken skit.

Now, if only you would as well.

I think they delivered an almost perfect e3, especially if they'll reveal a great 3ds game tomorrow.
not perfect because X delay, lack of fatal frame and fire emblem and no 3ds new game. but they showed many wiiu games, new ip, new partnerships, good graphics, a plan for next years, many genres covered, early concepts, figures, initiatives...
congrats to them

Yep certainly enjoyed it. Great start, very funny.
Smash was expected but looked good, slightly worried that the WiiU won't have as many playable characters without buying the NFC figures; hence the Mii customisation to make up for it. Really hope that's not the case.
Yoshi, I was glad to see it in a playable state. My interest increased when they mentioned the two player mode, although they did rather stretch the presentation.
Capt Toad, awesome. Have a feeling it's going to be a brilliant puzzle game.
Zelda, literally had chills at the start. Haven't had that for years from a game reveal.
Bayonetta, can't wait. Nice bonus the originals bundled. I secretly hoped for that a few months ago.
Hyrule warriors, looked good. It's certain come along way since its initial reveal.
Pokemon, not too bothered.
Xenoblade chronicles X, not blown away the story trailer. But as I love the original so much I'll be keeping an eye on it.
Splatton, interesting, although I'm not sure it'll be for me.
Smash characters revealed at the end was disappointing, was hoping for Metroid.
Oh and Miyamoto trolling with blurry Starfox would have been better if I hadn't of known about it before.
Don't think I've missed anything!?

Best Nintendo presentation for quite some time.

Thank Jebus, someone who shares my sentiments! I was beginning to think everyone here was a bunch of whiners/complainers who can't possibly be satisfied.

This was the BEST Nintendo E3 coverage "stream/presser" in a long time.

Seriously,

Out of the whole presentation, there is one sentence that went mostly unnoticed, and that was Reggie saying that 'There is nothing wrong with a little bit of fun'

Really echoed with me and how I felt almost everything else was pretty boring, others have high production values and everything else but so many just miss that little spark of instant fun.

I feel the same. The new graphics look like updated "Wind Waker" stuff. Not a fan of cell shaded graphics for AAA games. Looks cheap and only acceptable for low budget indie games.

This is a bad opinion and you should feel bad.

I loved the Toad levels in SM3DW and this gameplay they're showing is just the best. I'm so excited for this. It's confirmed as retail, not just an eShop download game? If that's the case I hope it has like way over 100+ levels since they're so tiny (unless they get crazy later on which is practically garunteed).

So if you believe N won E3 will that translate into sales. Will they win the next NPD ?

To me winning E3 is getting more people to buy into your ecosystem.

Did Nintendo do that ?

Lots of people here already stated they're buying Wii Us now.

I think what people want from Nintendo, is a gloomy game. People will not be happy until they can get third person assasinations only on Wii U.

Quite an entertaining event. Easily the most entertaining of the show. Loved the Robot Chicken segments.

I wish there had been more surprises though. Zelda looks great, but we knew that would get shown.

Yeah, no. Nintendo is my favorite company in gaming but I have been playing pretty much everything since 1998. Be it cs 1.6, psx, ps2, dreamcast, genesis, gamegear... I'm glad Nintendo doesn't cater to the inane crap that kids are into these days, and it will be a sad day if they ever made Metroid into anything resembling COD or Halo. Your assertion that Nintendo fans haven't been exposed to other stuff is ridiculously stupid, and ignores the fact that their games are lauded pretty much universally, not just by Nintendo fans. You are the one that sounds super adolescent by equating maturity and adult with gratuitous hyper violence. That's how a 12 year old that wants to appear grown up thinks, and I'm glad Nintendo doesn't pander to this low hanging fruit

My crystal ball and forum business analyst experience is saying, "who cares?" E3 used to be an event for businessmen but it's now an event for us gamers. Just enjoy it and don't stress issues you have no control over and probably little or no expertise with which to analyze them.

Do you think there'll be more surprises today? Like Majora's Mask? I feel that anything "megaton-worthy" would have been announced in the main digital event.
