I feel really bad for Palestine and Israel.

The Jews were so mistreated in history and now they are becoming the mistreaders themselfs. I't's sad actually.
Israel as an entity and a political force has for awhile being mistreating Palestinians. Not 'The Jews'. I think it's important to make that clear or any legit criticism of Israel and its horrible actions will just be labelled under Antisemitism.

Why is there any surprise?

When you are in a harsh and brutal land, you can expect harsh and brutal consequences to being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Is it fair? No. Is it unexpected? Hardly.

Where is this surprise you are talking about?

When will this stop?
Probably when they has all of Palestine

You should see this shit in germany. It's hard for politicians to critisize Israel, because the minute someone with a name does that SOMEBODY comes and reminds us off Nazi germany. It's laughable how far people pack their critque to Israel in cussions to not be pummeled by the press.
This is pretty much everywhere.

Palestine isn't a country yet, that's the problem.
And it never will be because every time they get close, stuff happens. A really odd coincidence. It was really interesting to see the funds were cut to the UNESCO just because they acknowledged them by giving them a seat. And this is just a small event.

Wasn't all this latest violence sparked by the kidnapping and murder of 3 Israeli teens?

Also, there are plenty of very recent events where detained Americans have been left out to dry. The marine in Mexico, three fishermen in Honduras, and (more problematic) the ones in North Korea.

America will probably apologize to Israel for the boys face getting in the way of their fists and boots.

Why are we even involved in this garbage?

Its pretty apparent Israel is doomed and as soon as we stop intervening its over. Its like we just keep dumping money into a lost cause.

They have to say it in a diplomatic manner, but thats not unusual. Look at the CIA scandal. CIA wiretapping Merkels phone. German politicians are outraged, but what they actually say sounds quite harmless.

When Gauck visited Israel he said that germany is on Israels side and he hopes for a peaceful two-states solution(Israel and Palestine exiting next to each other, peaceful and set borders) and he hopes that armed conflict with Iran can be avoided.
Thereby suggesting that Isreal is interested in a peaceful two-state solution and avoiding war with Iran.
Some people where outraged by that. But nobody could really argue against it. I mean, how could you?
Still, in my opinion people in higher position are too scared to say that has to be said. The fact that Israel still does as it pleases underlines that.

If the kids name was Steve or Mark this would be all over the news

Define "doomed". They aren't going anywhere, not with a nuclear arsenal. The ideal is to make a two state solution a reality, as Israel is content with the current status quo that leaves Palestinians in perpetual misery with no hope of being absorbed into Israel proper.

I knew I wasn't crazy...if you Google Israeli teens the first two things are about the kid set on fire ( cause no one reports it) then everything else is about the three I was referring to. Come on, no ones hands are clean in this mess.

American aid is a small portion of their military budget.

Palestine will be absorbed into Israel. Once all palestine has been settled and Jews outnumber Muslims.

Haha wow. That picture is kind of like those people saying Hitler barely killed anyone and that WW2 was the rest of Europe's fault,. Nobody believes it and you just look like a fool for saying it.

I dont get your logic? Israel sanctioned them and denied things like hospital machines at border checks.

Yeah, this is totally factual and accurate

Correct it.

It's just a random image with numbers. He should give a source to those numbers if anything.

EDIT

I tried googling the children under 10 in prisons number and I can't seem to find anything. This wiki entry has info on teenagers getting arrested and some going to jail, but nothing close to the numbers in the image. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_prisoners_in_Israel

In 2010, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics reported that there were "over 7,000" Palestinians in Israeli jails, of them 264 under administrative detention.

August 2013, 193 minors were imprisoned

They defined minors as ages 12-18 in that link.

Here's civilian casualty figures 1987-2011: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli–Palestinian_conflict#Fatalities_1948.E2.80.932011

For under 18s there it's 1620 - 142.

So the image is wrong. The numbers you posted are from 1987 and on. The image attempts to make the numbers worse and you can't really take the other statistics on it seriously either. 36 Israelis under 18 were killed in 2001 alone making the Israeli numbers on the image wrong as well.

Regardless, while the numbers are horrifying, I find the concept of having a scorecard a little distasteful. This isn't a game, and one innocent death on either side should be viewed with disgust.

Wonder if this will gain more attention and show how one sided the whole entire situation with Israel and Palestine actually is.

Huah? No.

Israel is going to want this as quiet as possible. I don't see them wanting to cause that much friction against one of their only allies.

Indeed. This is the consequence of scaled up tribalism. Reason hasn't saved us yet.

I have my doubts main stream media even picks this up.

I've seen news articles from US media.

here are some from a quick google search:

http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/05/world/meast/jerusalem-u-s--teen-beaten/

I don't know if there have been news segments on tv though. I don't have cable anymore.

It's so horrific, but it is clear that Israel has the upper hand, is in a position of power, and can do quite a bit to change the situation, but they don't, they continue on, and constantly act disproportionately. This will only end if there is a major shift/change within Israel. I don't see how this conflict could be resolved any other way.

These kinds of stories hardly get covered in mainstream American news outlets. I haven't seen this anywhere in Canadian news either.

Granted it has local ties, but before I went to bed last night it was the top story on the local news in Tampa. This is in a city in the millions in a state with a large Jewish population

Is there any possible way for both countries to get along?

It will only become peace when Israel recognize Palestine right to exist, but they will not do that, unless Palestine recognize Israel right to exist. Palestine will only do that if Israel recognize Palestine right to exist etc. Do you see the problem here?

Also that picture that has been shown in this thread? It is so full of factual error that it makes my head hurts.

I've always thought that there is not real solution to the conflict because both sides have given each other reason not to trust the other time and time again.

There's not a solution because neither side wants the other sides idea of a solution. Israeli government hawks are cool with perpetual conflict.

That pretty much sums it up.

I've always thought that there is not real solution to the conflict because both sides have given each other reason not to trust the other time and time again.

The problem with wanting "victory" rather than "compromise."

There's not a solution because neither side wants the other sides idea of a solution. Israeli government hawks are cool with perpetual conflict.

Leaders of both sides profit from conflict. Arafat was a millionaire many times over because of it and Sharon enjoyed many years in power.
