I played and beat TLoU on Survivor and I spent 90% of the time on one hit from death. I was constantly low on ammo and had to ninja my way through the game killing baddies with stealth.

And I wasn't afraid to flee either.

All this did was make me die and reload a lot until I found the optimal path to my destination.

I felt it was too much. While I did get a supreme sort of triumph over finally getting passed a section, especially if I stealth killed everyone in the area it felt to slow and time consuming. Especially as I said, being 1 hit from death most of the time due to all the death/reloading.

I completely gave up on doing the DLC at the point
Ellie needs gas for the generator and a bunch of clickers show up
and I have no way to deal with it.

My first play through on the PS4 version I will probably do on Hard.

There was one spot in the DLC where
you are trying to get through a department store and it is full of either bandits or infected, can't remember now. I could sneak all the way through it up to the doors to get out I assume but there is a baddie posted right in front of the doors you can't sneak by. I must have tried that area 20+ times before I gave up either trying to kill everybody or sneak there and kill that one dude. Either way though I got swarmed before I could get out the door.

Hopefully I can get past that this go around because I really wanted to complete it.

I'll once again voice my opinion that Hard is by far the best balanced difficulty in the game, BUT, that being said, if you already played on Hard, Survivor is worth a shot.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing. I want more of a challenge this time, but I've already seen my friend play it on Grounded and I'm not ready for it yet, lol.

All the talk earlier in the thread about grounded and survivor being where its at had me thinking I would give grounded a go from the start.

Remembering how difficult a time I had on normal though, I am going to have to reevaluate my plan. I think hard is where I will start.

EDIT: Off topic, I am going to hit 300 posts today and have 3 months under my belt. How soon do you think I can expect the Jr. label to be dropped? I am a 37 y/o man but in my mind everyone with the JR. label is a kid. I know this is not true but the moniker just evokes that in me for some reason. lol

I'm rockin Hard mode first for all collectibles, shiv doors, convos and
Ellie's jokes

Then jumpin to Hard+ and maxing skills and weapons.

Then a Survivor run.

The Junior label should be gone when you hit 300 posts, don't worry :p

Thanks Raptor! BTW, I tried to ask you this yesterday in the Destiny OT but since it was moving at light speed I am sure you missed it.

Knowing how much you love gore, how do you handle Destiny with it's complete and utter lack of it?

I probably didn't saw the post I apologize.

I think I said in a Destiny thread that I manage to deal with it with the fantastic sound and feel feedback of the weapons and the Titan Melee punch, just feels great to kill things there so Destiny is among the very few games that I let pass the lack of gore, Resogun being another lol.

On the contrary if some game has incredible gore but it lacks on the sound feedback or feel of the gunplay I will not like it, case in point Wolfenstein, I can pass lack of gore but I can't never let pass weapon sound and feel feedback.

Glad you like the gunplay! It confirms what I was thinking last night that the various weapons have great sound and feedback.

I can't wait for the final release because I can only scour Old Russia so much.

Edit: And no worries on the lack of reply. That thread was impossible to keep up with yesterday.

Yea that's what i was afraid off going Survivor, If you find yourself constantly restarting the game, feeling too limited with attacking options and finding the pacing harmed severly you should really take the difficult down, much more important enjoying the game than saving your Ego :)

I think it's pretty much a consensus in here that Hard with Listen mode off is the most balanced and fair difficulty that maintains the survival elements of the game whithout limiting the gameplay so you get to experience all the mechanics to the fullest.

It's pretty much the most recommended for first timers, if we were at the PS2 era that difficulty would be the default.

Is anyone else entering this thread every now and then expecting some direct footage to be officially released/leaked? I can't wait!

I check the thread in the hopes of some footage, but never really leave disappointed because there's always something ass or crazy eyes Joel related.

At this point, that is probably the last reason I am entering this thread. I'm just here for my daily fix of giraffics and things up asses.

Just remembered another movie that has overgrown vegetation on abandoned cities:

Chernobyl Diaries

Speaking of which, with regards to movies and The Last of Us... am I the only one who saw the commercial for "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" and thought immediately that it looked like the Last of Us? The buildings combined with the exact colour scheme looked frighteningly similar...

He looks like a better FF character than the one he actually voiced.

Yup. Great part of the Grounded docu was when Ashley Johnson is talking about how talented he is and how he looks like a Final Fantasy character and then they go to the shot with him in that outfit and it's like "Well, shit. He pretty much is. Look what he's wearing."

And yeah, i was never a fan of Snow...

I am very proud of the fact that I received my "member" through an extensive list of "STRAIGHT INTO MY FUCKING ASS!" posts. Thank you to all who made this possible! Especially Raptor who if it weren't for him, I may not have ever had the motivation to reach 300 posts. ;)

Now please, GAF, take this member and cram it as deeply as you can onto your orifice of choice

Since you revealed your age in a different post, every time you mention stuffing things up your ass, it's even weirder now lol
