I think the press and hold is just meant to act as a "casting time" and to prevent you from doing it by accident, but I agree that it could be made more convenient.

No, I think it's more that they aren't pushing the PS4 hard. I played the PS4 and PS3 versions and the PS3 version looks really similar besides resolution and texture quality. I'm sure the XB1 version will look the same. The game has GREAT art direction and skyboxes, but it's not necessarily a power-pusher.
But...the thread is ABOUT resolution...

Hell yeah I did. It sounds like Ryan was pushing the parity topic for a dig at the fanboys. Even Chris was hesitant to answer the question and seemed even uncomfortable with it.

Those are some good ideas.
Hopefully the feedback gets back to Bungie, because quitting matchmaking takes five full seconds. No one needs to confirm for five seconds they want to leave matchmaking.

I bet they will look identical in every single way. Destiny doesn't appear to push the PS4 at all, to me. I wonder what framerates you could get with an unlocked framerate.

This may sound bitchy and fanboyy but I'll still say what I think about it.
The thing about parity is that, since the Ps4 is the more powerful console, its only achieved by either gimping the Ps4 version or putting considerably more effort into optimizing the XboxOne version of a game and in my opinion devs shouldn't go for parity but for the best they can do on either plattform.
Not saying they should've have tried to get 1080p on Xbox, I just think if the XboxOne can get this game to run at 1080p 30FPS, the Ps4 would've been able to run it at 60FPS maybe.

You didn't know? Microsoft made Halo and just let Bungie put their name on it.
If they implemented voice commands then they'd need Kinect, which they're disabling to get to 1080p.
edit: I was wrong, voice commands work with or without the extra 10% boost.

Yet exact IGN to do a graphics comparison and I wouldn't be surprised if there are differences elsewhere although the game seems very balance between all platforms as shown by DF's analysis.
So 900p to 1080p with the GPU reserve? That's quite good never though it could increase that much although it's quite interesting if you compare it to other games like SO is using it for more character on screen and particles.

Yeah, there will probably be at least a few differences, even if they're mostly subtle stuff like AA quality, shadow resolution, AO precision, alpha effects, etc.

It's kinda funny that Destiny's GUI almost seems like it would work well with Kinect.
Destiny HAS to have some PS4 graphical benefits. Otherwise, it's purposely being held back for the sake of parity.

Why do you find a preview video showing the 1080p build on XB1 pathetic?
The footage looks great on my laptop. I don't like the point of the video though. "Look guys, we got Bungie to show and confirm that the game is running at 1080p!". I'd rather them reveal and showcase some new information about the game and casually mention that the game is running at 1080p and a solid 30 FPS. Ryan gushing over the "full parity" is bad as well. If a hardware has extra resources it shouldn't be exactly the same.

Voice commands are still enabled believe. It's the video processing which has been disabled with the update.
So what? Game looks fantastic either way.
