Didn't that also say all the koopa kids would be his alt costumes? I still don't trust text-based leaks but that would be really cool if they could figure out how to not mess with hitboxes when doing that.
Bowser Jr is basically short and bald, and the other Koopalings get into 'tall' and 'lots of hair' territory.
For the record, lots of characters in Smash don't have hurtboxes that completely match up with their model. Let me pull one out real quick...
As you can see, there's
quite a bit of the hurtbox extending past Yoshi's eyes and the nose hurtbox isn't as big as his nose. His hands don't have hurtboxes either. And his shoes also, for the most part, don't have a hurtbox.
These hurtboxes were generated with BrawlBox and someone overlayed them on Yoshi, BTW.
There are some other examples I could probably find. Like, did you know that DK's torso hurtbox extends past where his chest is? Some people call that the
tie hurtbox because of that.
It doesn't matter if there's a slight
sliver of area that lacks a hurtbox, you're not going to notice it in-game 99% of the time. Did you think Yoshi's nose was
exactly the size of the hurtbox before the above image was posted? You probably did. Likewise for this hands and shoes, both of which are visible parts of his body that extend out during animations and etc.
