Ys for Vita/PS4 Announced

I'm happy this has been confirmed for PS4. Finally Ys on a console! I get get quite a few other people to play the series now

they'll keep the fuck from this thread because they know that if they come here they will be bombarded with questions of it coming to the west lol

They'll read the thread and not say anything, because what can they say? There is nothing to announce and they probably don't have a deal for this game yet.

It really sucks to know that we'll have to wait until 2016ish to get this. However, I would be incredibly grateful if we got it at all. XSEED plzzz.

@Guy above. It's Ys, who cares about the graphics.

So any of those locations look like something out of Ys 5 considering it would be the next one up for a remake? If not then probably best to assume it's going to be 8.

Bought The Oath in Felghana a couple of months ago but never played it. Probably gonna play it soon because of this announcement. It looks really interesting.

Holy shit man, get on that pronto. And get yourself Origins while you're at it.

Nice. I just bought all of the Ys games on steam and have been really enjoying Ys Origin. So I'm pretty excited about this.

"Made for PS4" in Japan means "we gunna bloom the fuck out of these graphics"

But... Unless FF15 and/or TLG suddenly get release dates, this will be the first game I buy for PS4.

I'm excited and all, but yeesh, those screenshots.

They're not quite what I expect when I think of a Playstation 4 game.

That promo art sums up Ys so well. It's that allure of exploring lost world...they've communicated it so lushly here.

Looks fine in screens, great in motion; is jumping and rolling new or were they mechanics in MoCelceta? I wonder if this is a reimagining of the Kefin scenario (from sand to water, I suppose) or a new story. Whatever happens, the shareholders are likely to push for a Western STEAM PC port, if the previous stockholders' meeting report is any indication.

I'm glad they're putting this out at all, even if they're mostly likely reusing the engine from Celceta. Falcom's been focusing more on Kiseki as of late.

Promising something like the promo art is like promising the moon. Not that it shouldn't happen, but this is a small company relative to the size of their projects.

I had a feeling this look awfully familiar to the last Ys game, for Vita.

Now I know why. It's primarily a Vita game with a PS4 port. :p

Rolling's not new. This does basically seem to be in the same vein as Seven and Celceta.

If this isn't the Ys V remake, then it's an original and that leaves one more remake production for Falcom to sharpen the Ys Seven party paradigm.

I knew about rolling. Jumping's new, since it wasn't in MoC.

looks great! should probably get busy playing the four Ys games I've already got on steam first though :p

I've never played a Ys game before, but I'd be way more interested in this if it had an art style similar to this concept art. As is all those screenshots look like any generic rpg.
Quit your clowning. Go play Oath in Felghana. These games aren't about story. it's about amazing battle systems with perfect timing needed to win the war. Grinding can only get you so far. you either learn the mechanics or you die. ANd the controls are as tight as can be humanly possible, meaning a fuck up is on you, not the game. Simple as that.

If that sounds fun (and it's the best fucking game I've ever played). then you should go check it out.

Adding jumping in makes me think this is a Ys V remake/redo. It's odd that they would wait two games to bring back a concept introduced in the SFC game and kept through Origins.

It's about time they brought jumping back, but I don't expect it to be as fun as in the Ys 6 engine games. :(
