The Destiny OT had people reporting the download being active, as myself being the first. Anyway, the download is complete =D but now the wait has become even more dreadful -____-

are we sure it's still not 40 gigs installed? That what everything is pointing to on current gen. why else make 40gigs a requirment on current gen?

I'm not counting my chickens until sunday when the pre-load was supposed to go on. But it'd be extremely shitty to only let you pre-load ~20 GB if the game is twice the size.


edit: can somebody ask bungie folks such as Deej via Twitter? We probably have a better chance an answer from there than here.

I am downloading everything, but the Vanguard armory won't download. It showed up on the list, but just said it couldn't download it. Is this ok? or should it have downloaded with the install file?

What's so different about this game that makes you strongly suggest others to buy it retail? I bought potentially far less good games digitally and regret nothing.

Possibly content will be added through game updates and not just DLC, so it'll be "required". They want to leave space for that.

So 40 gigs required, and additional storage on top of that for updates.

Unless they plan to do 20gigs of free auto updates/DLC, I dont see why 40 gigs is required if it is just 20 gigs installed..

Hopefully it is 20 gigs somehow though.

i'd assume it's just an unlock key, as all that gear is already in the game, this just lets you skip leveling your Vanguard rank

So basically the game is downloaded and now I have to wait? Ugh... My ps4 wasn't even in standbys, I turned it on and it was just sitting there, completed...

Preorder stuff/codes usually go live when the game launches so I wouldn't worry about. The latest it'll go up is Tuesday afternoon when the store update goes live.

I'm right there with you on Xbox One. I see it in my games section and it is just a tease. Pre-loading is a game changer for sure, though. It will be nice to have it right there ready to go for us on release.

Don't need PS+ for preloads, but you might need to turn on your PS4 to start the download. I think preloads while in standby might be something locked behind PS+.

Thanks for the info OP. Glad to see my download speed is back at 6MB/s, as it was very low on wednesday. Somewhere between 100-200kb/s.

It is the PlayGo.

It download a few to start the game (but you can't until 9/9) and so it download everything else (18GB) in background.

I'm sure right now the your PS4 is downloading it.

Q.Q apparently the digital version from Best Buy may not get the code early so we can preload... I mean I got the digital guardian edition for $40 so I'm not complaining but it sucks. D:

Yeah... but you know "oops" the servers are online kinda deal.
That would piss off the store those. They would get rushed by people trying to claim their pre order the next day. Not to mention that people have planned to take a day off on tuesday to enjoy the game. So yeah it would piss off a lot of people than do good.
