EDIT: NVM!
I tried Snes9xTYL 4.2 but it was slooow (about 19fps), I then tried to install Metal Slug X (I used PSX2PSP on my .iso, then Vita Homebrew Preparer) but it froze 138Menu.
Is this par for the course with Vita/PSP homebrew or am I doing something wrong? If so, I might not bother.
What's the difference between VHBL and TNV?
http://wololo.net/2014/08/13/proof-of-concept-ps-vita-half-byte-loader-running-at-firmware-3-18/
Could someone explain this to me? Is there a new exploit or is earler exploited games working on 3.18?
Wonder if it has been on PS+ or something...A new VHBL exploit is going to be announced soon. Wololo says the exploitable game is 'surprising', so it may not be the usual shovelware crap that you usually have to buy.

Oh god, don't be a dick, you dick!So some drama in the ps vita hacking scene. Apparently Zetai Hero Project, which enabled VHBL on 3.18, also had a kernel exploit that was being developed. They intended to keep the release of the exploit files until FW 3.30 released but apparently the developer got pissed off by some of his testers and now intends to publicly release it before 3.30 comes out.

I just want to be able to play birth by sleep and crisis core on my vita.. Kinda getting desperate here..

Oh please don't kill the vita, we just fell in love .
I can already emulate anything I want on my phone or PC.
Not happy I missed this.
Vita's homebrew scene is so convoluted and doesn't offer native Vita games. It won't kill the system

There is also going to be a kernel exploit released for Gladiator Begins. I don't know if Z.H.P. is still on the store or not, but Gladiator Begins apparently is.

It's not going to kill the Vita. There is no native Vita hack yet. All the ones so far are just for the PSP emulator.
goddamnit, another game i'd want to buy.
I searched for ZHP earlier this week to see it was gone.
kinda hurts when the games aren't shit!
Immediately downloaded Gladiator Begins to my Vita because of the drama on wololo. I'm not entirely sure what this actually allows me to do. This isn't actually native PSV homebrew but rather PSP stuff via the PSP emulator on the Vita right? Not really an excuse for my ignorance, but I got the device a week ago and really gotta read up on the homebrew scene.
As far as I can see, homebrew on the Vita is not just only PSP stuff, it's also locked down to the performance and RAM used by the first edition of the PSP. Am I right on this?

So buy Gladiator Begins if I want to use this upcoming exploit? Also, will I have any problems getting new monthly PS+ games if I do this? I assume updating the firmware is a no no after the exploit is done?
I can't even get QCMA to show the packages for the package installer. It'll connect to the system but not show the packages in the package folder for the package installer on the system to install.
I just want the fucking eBook reader, Sony. Why can't you give that in the US!?
Is CrunchyRoll DRM-free?Looks like every PS Vita has a hidden "Package Installer" (mainly there for devs probably) and SKFU has managed to expose it for use for people like us.

How to transfer packages and install them

What is this good for?
You can install DRM-free apps and demos. It will NOT enable piracy.
I've only got the Japanese ebook reader app to work on my US account. The Pocketstation app didn't work (probably has the DRM).
You can still claim your PS+ games but once they release 3.30 you won't be able to download any games or access the store. You're left with whatever you have on the stick and whatever you have backed up on your computer.
Is CrunchyRoll DRM-free?
Fuck that. Way too high a price.
Does the homebrew allow you to play non compatible and delisted PSX games on the Vita?
I'm new to the whole Vita/PSP exploit thing. All I know is that I need to buy Gladiator Begins to use the exploit. What do I do after that?
(Sorry for the potentially dumb question)
People using any exploits should be using QCMA now, it is basically the successor to OpenCMA and will allow you to transfer between PC and Vita without updating to the latest firmware.Install CMA, let it sync with your Vita using the Content Manager on the device, you now have PS Vita/PSAVEDATA in your "My Documents" folder. In it is a folder with a seemingly random name.
Can anybody tell me how to go through the email package manager thingy?
I tried to send the "<a href=psgmpen?titleid=NPXS10031″>OPEN PKG INSTALLER</a>"
and "psgmpen?titleid=NPXS10031"
None works
Try putting your email in here although I'm not sure if it works - http://zload.net/pkg/
He's got a script running to automatically send the email but I never got anything in my inbox/spam/etc. Wololo is doing something similar but you need an account to the forum.
