Final Fantasy XIII on Steam October 9th, $16; full trilogy by Spring 2015

Wow, that's 1/4 of the price I expected. Why so reasonable SE?

And they are using PS3 screenshots on Steam which PERFECTLY illustrate why we need this on PC:

In addition to the generally terrible IQ I somehow managed to forget (or purge from memory) that the game didn't have AF at all.

Can we assume that we are getting Type-0, FFXV, and KH3 as well?

Square still has FFVI and FF Tactics iOS ports and XIII-2/Lightning Returns from the leak.

FFXV definitely coming to PC.
KH3 too I assume.

the question is when? not surprised if it took 2 years after released

also I wonder what is the file size. IIRC FFXIII is nearly 40 right?

EDIT: 30 GB. guess they cannot compress it more than that

Pretty big news. As with MGS V and GTA V, hopefully this will be the norm for this gen with console versions coming out about a year before the PC version. If so, I can wait for FFXV and Kingdom Hearts 3 since I have no desire for a PS4.

is that pretty much asked for a computer?

i dont know how far fetched these requirements are compared to a computer from 4 years ago.
I'd be surprised if someone who played console games on a PC couldn't meet these requirements. They're pretty low.

Square just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the Japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase FFXIII for any system, nor will they purchase any of Square's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Square has alienated an entire market with this move.

Square, publicly apologize and cancel FFXIII for PC or you can kiss your business goodbye.
What...? This makes literally no sense. I don't think re-releasing FFXIII would be seen as "shameful" - not everyone feels as betrayed/bitter/angry about it as you.

Also, FYI, some people liked it.

Edit: can we have a meme button please

From the looks of those screenshots... they didn't really touch anything up...'

At least the requirements aren't high (really, they're lower than I expected). Hopefully we can at least run it at 60 fps.

Sorry PC gamers =[

Though hopefully this means XV on Steam. Console gamers shouldered the horrible burden that was the Lightning trilogy, only fair that PC gamers need to suffer through it as well.

Damn, that's pretty cheap. Also releasing on my birthday. I didn't hate FFXIII so I'll probably get this in anticipation of the sequels.

I grabbed XIII-2 earlier this year but never got around to playing it. Might as well hold off now. I've been kinda wanting to replay XIII anyway.

Can't wait :D

Hopefully it won't be locked at 30fps. Excited to mess with Paradigms again.

Want to pre-order, but afraid of a terrible port.

Looks like they just chose press shots from the PSi version.

It's always funny to find somebody who doesn't know about that meme.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
I'll probably buy this, to show my support for belated PC ports. I just have to fit it in amongst all of the other upcoming pre-orders that have DLC incentives (sorry, Squeenix, but my game count comes first).
