made .gif is far easier for me tbh, I'm still yet to figure out a way to made .webm without troublesome codec tinkering or uploading giant file with my crappy internet.
These - or at least SamuNeco and Arpeggio - were on UK Netflix as well when I checked a couple of days ago. Pretty sure Kotoura-san and My Little Monster are there too, but I didn't specifically watch either of those.

I'm thankful I watched Katanagatari on a whim one day and was 100% unspoiled on all of it.
I think that definitely upped the impact it had on me. One of my fav. shows for sure.
I would so buy that. Certain series that seem perfect for figurines are not getting any, or else getting very sparse and cheaply made ones. It makes little sense.
Well, I didn't watch the episode yet, but if it's anything like Nodame, the performances are recorded perfectly technically for the major performances to sell soundtracks. At that level of competition though, it's not difficult to give a flawless technical performance through practice. The scoring is also about your interpretation of the piece. The music sheet shows the notes, but not the expression of the original composer. Well, not all of it. I'm no violinist though. :lol
If your show doesn't even get a Beach Queens fig you're likely to get nothing.
Well, like one example is Date a Live. That show has some really neat looking characters in it yet it gets hardly anything. Unbreakable MAchine Dolls only got figures of Yaya made by....Griffon
If this world was just there would be a huge gorgeous Alter or GSC figure of Kurumi and you bet your ass I would pay out the nose for that. So would many others.

I have. Not all of it. Some fights were well thought out but in terms of animation and choreography it didn't do much to me.

It's written by NisiOisiN. The main focus is the exposition. I'm a big fan of his style though; I enjoy it greatly.
The guy was rushing in his performance.
(Rushing is a term used to indicate that in the structure of linear music, he is performing notes ahead of the other performers (in this case it's his accompaniment, the pianist); they are not together)
Like, a sixteenth to an eighth ahead. Which is really horrible. To me it almost hurt to listen to it get messed up that badly lol. Pretty much would get huge marks off for something like that in solo contests.
I didn't even know it was based on anything. Though its very europeaness I guess makes it scream based on some euro novel.
I did think spending a double episode on backstory that other shows would put in a flashback scene or two was curious. And I do like the backgrounds a lot. And given the notorious nature of tv anime cg I found it fine for the most part.

Ah. I guess the movie (and possibly also the book) is mostly known about in Nordic countries.
Parasyte is quite interesting, I'm trying to stop reading more of the manga and wait for the weekly anime episode but I'll probably end up finishing the whole manga in a couple of nights.
episode 2 was pretty good. also, after listening to it 2-3 more times, I somehow like the opening.

Thanks for the explanation. It's good to know that there's actually a lot of effort put into the sound in the show, including flawed performances. I'm such a scrub I can't really tell lol.

You know what I like? Honesty. It's arguably my biggest gripe with the anime industry at the moment. Many series these days create a premise or a world, but it is largely used as a vehicle to put blood or tits on your screen instead of creating a compelling story or characters using the setting.
In this series you have one of the dumbest concepts of all time, but it knows exactly what it wants to be and what it wants to do. It has the right amount of playing genre tropes straight, but also the right amount of self-awareness to poke fun of it's concept and the genres it represents. The result is something that is really funny and enjoyable. And I was snickering throughout both episodes. Hopefully it can keep up the pace.
This is a show about a damn hairstyle, and it has been better than about 75% of shows I have seen this year on a sheer enjoyment level. AOTY.
Also, those bad guys have impeccable taste.

The Heiji cases really always are a good example of the series stepping up its game. The scenes with Conan, Heiji and Kogorou staking out the house and doing some investigating are fun, and then once we get into the arson we have some great stuff. Inspector Yuminaga is one of those fun minor characters in the series who doesn't show up that much, but is always nice to see. Here, in his first appearance, we get some great stuff with him talking about how Kogorou was always screwing things up for him back in the day.
Also, Ran's superstitions just get more and more annoying for me anytime I see a case with them. It's not really a good character trait at all, and it just makes her come across as silly.

So I guess the fact that I made it through the entire series, whereas I could only get through 1-2 episodes of say Yuyushiki or Nichijou I guess that says a lot. Just gotta make sure the next show I pick is something with an actual story.

Why, filming all the female staff members in swimsuits while they're cheerleading of course! And if that's not enough, he also uploaded a video of one of the mascots punching the living daylights out of one of the customers!
Clearly we're looking at Disney World levels of popularity here with this kind of advertising!
