Exclusive GTA 5 Content Revealed For PS4, Xbox One and PC

In the thread, people who smugly posted that they'd be waiting for the "definitive" version of GTAV in Sept 2013 are upset that their "definitive" version is marginally, microscopically less "definitive."

Do you think he didn't know that? you can look at his post history...

Uhh, what? I didn't look at his post history before quoting him... Just pointing out that screenshot is not one of the new ones, but an old one from PS3/360.

Thought this was interesting on Twitter (read from bottom to top)

IMO, not happening. They're 3 weeks away from release and they've repeatedly hammered this "Nov 18" release date over the last few weeks, so I'd be shocked if there was a delay announcement at this point.

We are listening to this Kevin Dent guy now?

GTA needs marketing? Thats a new one. Think I've seen a total of 2 commercials ever of a GTA game.

Game doesn't need marketing, it will sell just by hitting the shelves.

No, he's been pretty unreliable in the past but I thought it was interesting he should think that.

They're not catering to platform loyalists. They're trying to reward fans of the franchise.

Good that you say "trying"... :)

Since they clearly don't satisfy my case.
Here a list of all Rockstar games I have that support Social Club. (Those with a V mark.)

Although I've been a PC gamer for a very long time, I eventually bought a PS3 Slim for some exclusives.
For that platform, I also bought Red Dead Redemption.
I also rebought GTA IV (which I already had on PC) on PS3. But that was clearly a horrible mistake: the frame rate is horrible!

So in the end I never bought GTA V for PS3 since I've been waiting for the better PC version. I don't care about graphics that much - it's the horrible FPS on an outdated system that bothers me.

Now Rockstar punishes people like me that likely have more Rockstar games than the average console gamer.

+ Will buy the GTA San Andreas "remaster" on Steam when it's available there.

Customers being defined as people who purchased GTAV (a single product) on one of only two possible platforms (the PS3 or 360).

Yeah, and it's not like that was some exclusive, narrow group. It's some 35million people, one of the biggest selling games ever. Gotta wonder whether you were one of the people scoffing at anybody who bought a "current gen" game only 1 or 2 months away from "next gen."

You're going to be really mad when you find out you won't have access to the exclusive, timed content that's been released in GTA Online over the last 12 months.

Skipped it due to horrible PS3/360 performance and because I knew they would bring it to Newgen.

Now I'm skipping it completely if this is indeed locked to "returning players"

Your move, R*

Rail gun, yep.

And all it takes is a ps3 version to have been played by my psn? Or is it me being connected to social club?

C'mon man you have so much more to look forward too, it's just a few things you won't get versus a shit tone you will.

No, but I was one of the people waiting to play it on the PC for all of the reasons the PC is the strongest multiplatform gaming device.

I have no problems with the "missed time" component, I chose to wait. This is completely different.

EDIT:
And the self-righteousness of the "OMG, OF COURSE people who paid $120!!! should have MORE STUFF" is pretty obnoxious.
You would absolutely be the first people losing your shit if a PC exclusive title got a console port than gated away content only to people who had previously purchased it on the PC.

I’m not sure why people are upset about the rewards people are receiving for double dipping. I think it’s awesome that R* is giving us these extras for paying $120.

For the record, I've just taken a look at eBay, and I reckon I can get a second-hand version for about £10. So, for people who waited, it's not *that* hard to pick up the complete version without breaking the bank, even if borrowing isn't an option.

1: I'm glad I played 4 or 5 hours of the ps3 version with a friend's disc when it came out.

2: Planning on going for PC.. anyone know if the port's any good, yet? I'm still a bit burnt over GTA4's ridiculously unoptimised port. (Also, did they finally cut GFWL out of 4 yet?)

I can't believe you are serious.

Not rewarding a single purchase of the game over buying it twice = punishing you.

That is preposterous.

The reward isn't the problem. Last gen players are getting a different game to new players from day 1. This isn't a handful of skins, it's a significant chunk of content.

Now, if it was all released a few months later as DLC that double-dippers got for free, I'd be fine with that. We'd all be enjoying the same experience, and new players wouldn't have had to settle for an inferior version of the game.

The PS4/XONE screens already look damn nice. I can't believe how it can get any better, but now that they acknowledge separate PC screens, I'm really curious.

Water looks rough there, but I'm excited to be playing this for the first time ever.

That's a previous gen screenshot. Dunno why the guy posted it.

How far does one have to play through for it to count?

Finish the prologue. Just that first mission or so set in

I don't think it's obnoxious, I think it's sensible. People who bought in early, who double-dipped, are getting a small, "nice to have" reward. A few new vehicles, a couple new weapons, some random encounters, and one extra "strangers & freaks" mission. I'm not sure if that's self-righteousness speaking? I'd be happy to tell you that I would not care in the least if a game got released on PC, and then got released on consoles later, and people who bought both get some tiny perks over somebody who is only buying one of them.

Your insistence on the superiority of your gaming preferences seems to be what's driving your anger here.

I don't expect structural differences, perhaps a few add ons here and here. PC screens will most likely be 4K downsampled.

Jesus, how is this a huge issue? People not buying the game because they're giving something free to those who already bought the game and are buying again? Get a grip y'all.

Actually I'm not even mad, that's amazing.

It's not about money, nor if the content is actually good/worthwhile.

The thing is - fans have waited and have been excited for GTA V for a long time (almost 4 years between announcement and release) and now when it finally releases on modern hardware, some fans feel left out (not punished) because of some gameplay materials are only available to certain customers.

I think it's a stupid incentive. It's gonna piss off fans more than anything.

Amazing!!

Do we know if I played this on the 360 and I buy GTA V again for my PS4, do I get all this new content? Or does it have to be in the same console family?

I am wondering the same, i have a PS4 but am getting a X1 next week & would rather have it on my PS4 if i can.

I have played through GTAV on my X360 but i am not sure if to buy this now or buy it later once all the expansions are released.

Sounds good to me, I was already in anyway.

People might not want to hear this, but upset new buyers have the right to complain about getting "locked out" of these extras, boycott this version, or even plan hunger strikes. Have at it, but welcome to the minority. If millions agree with you, I'll stand corrected.

As a double-dipper I think of it as a perk, I appreciate the gesture from R* and you won't convince me otherwise.

The only time I ever remember seeing a commercial for a GTA game was leading up to the release of Vice City on PS2.

I'd feel punished for buying the previous one if I didn't get something from buying the new one.

Don't know why but knowing that I'd get exclusive stuff for playing this on PS3 prompted me to preorder this on PS4. Take that as you will, they got a purchase out of me for this news.

Because if you were signed up to the Social Club, your progress was synchronized, I believe. I hope. My 360 is long gone, so I'm fucked if it doesn't work like that.

I was upset about "Returning Players" exception as well, then I remembered I rented the game from RedBox and played for about 3 hours. Hopefully I count because to be honest I was waiting for the next-gen remaster the whole time

Oh Jeez. Rent/borrow an old copy and run it on you PS360 account. Problem solved.

Again, you are going to be getting the same experience player got back last year. But actually a little better with higher resolution and improved features. You want to get the same thing as people who put in the hours last gen because you put in the hours.....waiting?

Just wondering, but do the apartments/cars/boats/airplanes etc that I own in the PS3 version get transferred to next Gen? I know cash won't be transferred..
