How about trying maybe pistols on but headshots disabled? That's still a thing right?

I'm pretty sure I saw headshot immunity in the settings for H2A. I like this suggestion.

My suggested ODST game type

-Silenced SMG starts
-Pistol as secondary weapon
-No shields
-90% movement speed
-Force armor colors if possible (steel vs silver?)
-No motion tracker
-Headshot immunity for all players

Also, what about on map weapons? Default for the map or human weapons only?

Supposedly.

There seems to be too much wrong with the game for them to feasibly fix it with a single patch, though. But I'll be happy if I can just get a game at this point. Had the game 7 days now and I've only been able to find 2 online games :\

I'm going to wait to see the patch notes before coming to any conclusions. I HIGHLY doubt it's going to be the BE-ALL-END-ALL patch that fixes matchmaking entirely. Let's just pray it helps to consistently find games fairly quickly (including games where you're party'd up) and MAYBE helps to balance teams better.

I just want to play rank and start competing to get my rank up, but honestly, i think they should do rank reset once this fix releases, that way everyone can start on a clean slate and play proper ranked halo.

I'm doubting it will be the end all be all patch too. But I think a lot of the multiplayer side issues will be resolved with it. I just wonder when the inevitable rank reset is coming.

The rank reset will come when matchmaking and all the bugs are vetted out. The game needs to be in a stable place before they do that. No point in a reset if the ranks can still be exploited.

Hopefully right after this fix. Sick of having my rank reset randomly on me...

Have you tried BR starts on Warlock with grenades at spawn? It's seriously worse. With the SMG starts on that map you can at least move 5 feet before getting shot at.

yeah till the enemy team has all BRs and you can't do anything with the SMGs.

Warlock is best in FFA gametypes, Objective gametypes or else but not this way.

Also the grenades are way too powerful in H2A for a clustered map like this.

I actually think BRs should be removed from Warlock/lord in general. Nobody spawns with them and they don't spawn on the map. Games on that map are now made 100% better. Those maps are just too small for BRs (possibly the only maps in MCC that are too small for that).

Agreed. It's literally a "pick your poison" kinda thing with Warlord at least. The one Team BR H2A match I had on Warlord had to be my least favorite H2A game I played thus far. It's practically CE-tier spawns on that map, lol.

Wizard/Warlock/Warlord for my old LAN parties was a map we usually dubbed off limits to "real" games because of its size. We usually saved it for goofy shit like Shotguns only w/ no shields or Crazy Rocket King, and that made the map more fun.

It was GLORIOUS

BR starts on Warlock is great. Its fast, frantic, and you need to be quick off spawn. With SMG starts you pick up a BR and just fuckin dong all day. Thats the problem with automatic starts. You feel helpless off spawn.

In addition to automatic weapon gunplay being SUPER boring and not interesting when fighting.
 
It's amazing how much easier Halo 3 is on Legendary in comparison to Halo 2. I felt like I was playing on Normal. :lol

Haha yes! I went straight from halo 2 legendary to halo 3 legendary and I had to double check I wasnt playing on heroic or something. Was breezing through.

You pretty much need to spawn shooting because you have usually a second or less before people start opening up on you. There's fast and frantic but there's a point where it gets too fast and frantic to be fun.

NOPE! I played a game of SMG starts on warlock yesterday. The enemy team got control early in the game, all got BRs, and proceeded to spawn kill us for the next two or so minutes until the game ended 50 to 10. There was literally nothing we could do.

SMG starts are the worst.
 
It's amazing to me how much the instant graphics switch adds to the enjoyment of the old and new graphics. That fade robs you of getting the immediacy of the differences.

I think like a lot of people I focused on the bad parts of the refreshed visuals—the occasionally too-busy environments and bright, less-foggy interiors detracting from the atmosphere—but going back I've found myself focusing on what they did well in updating. And there's no doubt the Library is far less tedious and confusing with the Anniversary treatment (how did Bungie realize that arrows were going to be useful in AOTCR but didn't add them in the Library?)

The library was never hard to navigate. You follow 343 guilty spark and run. I never understood how it was considered hard to navigate.

I've always loved BR's on Warlock. Get gud son!

It's definitely a change of pace but thats what Warlock is all about. Same shit happened in CE wizard. And that was with CE terrible spawns.

The Library is super easy to navigate. The one that gave me a little trouble was 343 Guilty Spark but the incredible atmosphere in that level made up for it.

Which is why you play Objective gametypes with 10 second respawn for BR's on Warlock/Warlord. That way there is some structure and pacing to the game, as well as less body count with the higher respawn timers.
 
Just got put into a 6v2 in H2A.


It's painfully apparent that this game was no where NEAR being close to being done. Seriously, who looked at this in Cert and said that this was ok? Unacceptable.

Yeah not to mention the campaigns still have issues which they seem oddly silent about. Their performance had some SERIOUS hiccups. The framerate plummets and drops are so bad (especially in Halo 4) I have pretty much given up playing it.

Make sure to watch it in 60fps :) Looks really awesome and the video shows (once more) that smart scope is just exactly what zoom ever was in Halo.

They talk so much about map control. I am not seeing any map control. Just players sprinting to a gun battle off spawn die, rinse, repeat. This was the single biggest issue with Halo 4. Reduce sprint speed to a small bump from base speed or remove it and H5 will be a great game.

We are running a game right now if you want to join. Might add in health packs in the form of over shields that give 1x shields (shields are now a health indicator rather than shields)

I think a better way to balance sprint in H5 would be to slowly drain your shield for sprinting. Once the shield is fully drained you can't sprint. This would keep people from being able to sprint away when one shot. Basically your shield meter would double as your sprint meter.

Didn't old zoom affect spread anyway? At least I know it did with the suppressed SMG in ODST.
