Depends. US PSN strictly states they don't offer refunds on pre-orders, unlike the European PSN store or, say Amazon, both of which charge money only after the content is released.

It's still available on EU PSN which is why I am considering buying it. I'd love FC4 for cheap.

Seems like a good deal, though I feel that season pass holders are probably actually owed their money back.

Still, some good deals in there that are worth more than the season pass cost.

I'd bet you'll be able to get PSN or XBL or whatever customer support to refund you. If not, you could probably contest the charge with your credit card company or PayPal if you really want to go that far.

But I imagine most people will just take Far Cry 4, assuming they don't already own it.

You asked why they needed this game out this year. It's a graphic showcase on a rising install base with people wanting current gen exclusive games.

They wanted this game out by Thanksgiving so they get the most out of the situation. Rogue doesn't have the "wow" factor a new engine game would have.

The Dead Kings is from the makers of ZombiU. Perhaps it wasn't good enough for Ubisofts standards.
