According to Capcom's site the overall (?) sales were:

Onimusha : Warlords (2.020 million)
Onimusha 2 : Samurai's Destiny (1.990 million)
Onimusha 3 : Demon siege (1.52 million)

We aready talked about this yesterday.

In my opinion a Dragons Dogma funded by Sony with the Panta Rhei Engine has far more potential than the first one.

So i hope for a Sequel.

They were fine given the time, though I think each iteration sold worst than the last. Again, my statement was more about how Capcom perceives Western audiences than the overall influence of a title like Onimusha.

Thinking about capcom IPs the biggest WTF's in the west would be

SF or MvC
Dragon's Dogma (I think this is similar to demon's souls audience size wise with potential for growth)
Devil May Cry

Hah is it weird to go to PSX alone?? I kinda want to go with somebody, but I have a feeling I'd spend more time trying to explain to them what the hell is going on rather than soak in the -atons.

Capcom doesn't think the West cares about anything Japanese, which is why I don't think they believe Okami or Onimusha would "turn heads."

Nah, you're better off going alone than dragging someone along who doesn't really want to be there.
I'm sure there will plenty of people you can hang out with there. Probably quite a few Gaffers as well.

They might be right too I guess. The gaming landscape is much different now and the strength Japanese IP overall has declined in the west. hmmm

They could also just be saying that the game looks good enough to stand toe to toe with Western devs. It's unclear.

I dunno, going from Dark Souls to Dogma was just jarring. Dark Souls takes all the tropes and flips them on their head design wise looking incredibly unique.....Dragons Dogma just seems to be a tick box for every euro-centric fantasy game/art and looks like an elder scrolls game. The model and texturing of the bosses though is just gorgeous, the day to day enemies and environments though....bleh.

While we are on the subject of Capcom, is there any chance, even the slightest chance that we will ever see another Ghost n Goblins, Ghouls n Ghosts, etc, mainline game again?

Not at this conference obviously, but somewhere down the track. A nice little downloadable title with gorgeous art would absolutely thrill me no end.

Anyone feel the same?
