Finally we got a date! Surprised this is indeed a 2015 game after all (it obviously was since it's nearly mid-December).

This certainly kills any thoughts of this being annual. Proves they will delay it post-holiday if necessary.

There was a lot to like in the first game, and a lot that just didn't work. I hope the developers are smart enough to take the stuff that worked and leave out everything else. Does anyone really care if the game is a little bit short?

Keep in mind that SE could do another For the Sequel leading up the Bravely Third, which means again, we'll likely be waiting a long while for a western release.

I spent over 100 hours on this game, all grinding included and loved every minute of it.
I understand why people don't like chapter 5 and beyond, but for me that was a fantastic experience I was just in the right frame of mind for.

Hopefully Bravely Second can keep everyone happy though. Cant wait for the PAL release.

BDFF didn't have anything of the sort for western release. Plus the game is a handheld title, and I don't think they'll bother that much for it in the west.

Retailer specific preorder bonuses are a pretty standard thing (although it's usually physical goods), but wow, that's a really skimpy selection. I hope that more stores are added later, because I'm not willing to pay a good few hundred more for one weapon.

That rarely happens though. If you're talking about BD1, it only received translations for other languages in its re-release in Japan, with EU getting the game around the same time as Japan did.

Sounds like it. One would hope that Squeenix would learn after BD1's success in the West to have quicker localization turnouts, but the wait is easily going to be another 8 months or so, if not more than a year. :/

Though maybe I'm wrong and it'll come out sometime this year. I really hope I am.

FTS was 14 months after the original, and Europe got that at the same time. If they go the updated version route again I'm guessing Q2 2016 for the West.

These are pretty much my thoughts on Bravely Default, too. Sure, the one, er, "section" of BD was terrible, but before and after was so masterful that I still loved the overall experience and I'm very much looking forward to the sequel

Considering the popularity of the game in the West I wouldn't be surprised if SE localizes this one much faster than before.
