Majora's Mask 3DS announced!

I would be willing to say that the fact that the art represents the 3DS version could indicate that the "eye" is not a part of the actual boss.

You are looking into something that isnt there. Its a hastily put together piece of promo art, nothing more. Also, it is the N64 art and does not reflect the redesign we have seen in screenshots.

I think its pretty clear the eye is included in this 3DS version to further show Majora's influence on the creature. Thats all, its been redesigned. Its likely not indicative of anything else at all.

Willing to bet that Odolwa, Twinmold and Goht will be redesigned to the same extent too.

It's 2015! Where is this promised terrible fate?

(I'd be happy with an announced release date actually)

I hope we get a NEW3DS bundle for this game.

I feel like a Nintendo Direct is long overdue, hopefully they get on with it in next couple of weeks. The momentum is slowing down, we need something to be hyped about.

Agreed. I would actually sell my Zelda ALBW 3DS XL bundle for it.

mid februari for new 3ds & zelda MM could happen, but that would mean a Direct has to come really soon.

Together with the EU version/packaging of N3DS that came up last week (german gaming site) februari does seem possible.

They said spring indeed.
I expect it late march, with n3ds. Mh4 will probably be in february.
They will clarify it in a direct late january I would say.

Sounds about right. But hey, if they think Spring starts in February and want to release both MM3D and the Mewtwo Smash DLC next month... fine by me!

Amazon DE has it for the 31st March 2015
31st March is the last day of the first quarter and amazon has set this date since they aired the productpage.
Pretty sure thats only a placeholder.
Anyone remember 3DS XL unveiling (June 22nd) and release (July 28th in EU) timeframe?
A february release with N3DS could very well happen.

Haven't been keeping up with the thread, have we heard any news on possible New 3DS improvements for this game?

I know there was some talk of reduced/eliminated loading screens and or higher framerate?

Game should just come out as soon as possible. I hate getting trailers and other useless shit for remakes/remasters/ports.

Aonuma confirmed in Famitsu that it would have improvements, but couldn't say what - I assume they'll state them in the Nintendo Direct.

I'm guessing it will be like this on the N3DS:

- 60fps
- Extra visual effects/draw distance/AA in 2D and 3D mode
- C Stick camera control like in Wind Waker and Twilight Princess
- Use of the ZR/ZL buttons as extra inventory slots.

I can't think of any other uses that could be applied to it really. anyway, my N3DS XL is here ready and waiting for it!!

Prepare yourself for disapointment then Richi XD

The 3DS has a new CPU not a GPU, as far as we know the GPU isn't even overcloacked. It just got a video RAM increase, this wont help with frame rates. What a new CPU could allow is for example, extra draw calls that the CPU in the original couldn't handle.

If you are expecting 60 fps, mayyyyyyyybe.... for 2D mode? And expecting AA for the game in 3D mode is too wishful thinking.

Unless Grezzo (sp?) did an incredible overhaul of the game engine. i always thought the Ocarina 3D didn't look as good as it could on the 3DS. The game didn't even had full body shadows.

i seriously want to see what they did with the interface. The game had a ton of items to use and the bomber's book was a bit too cumbersome to read. Also anciously waiting to see if they did some refinements to the touch screen system for selecting items.

Didn't Aonuma say in the Famitsu bit that it specifically wouldn't be "better graphics" or something like that?

i don't remember the interview in that much detail. Only thing i know of are the "improvement" comments. But expecting such drastic visual ones are not realistic.

Every time the threads get raised, i instantly make the connection to the New 3DS and that we don't have a release date for it, neither an exact one for Majora.

"visuals will be the same" <- paraphrased on NE's translator's part.
