It's probably been asked before...

I've watched all the Negima animes but should I read the Negima manga before reading UQ Holder?

You don't need to, as they'll probably explain at minimum what you need to know about old characters (so far, at least), but a better comprehension is always good and negima is pretty enjoyable besides the ending.

If I was to recc UQ Holder to someone I'd definitely try and get them to read negima first.

Hit a real brick wall here and while I plan to hopefully finish the series, I'm upset about the hotel room scene and the implications coupled with other insights. I'm totally fine with the story having a dark morbid twist but coupled with the events from the aforementioned scene, its too sudden a shift from the tone of the last 29 chapters. The sad thing is that I saw this coming but I guess given all the other mangas I'm following, this was just bringing me down.

If it's Negima OVA, you'll be fine. Well, you can enjoy UQ holder without reading Negima, but of course having read Negima will make you understand several reference and returning character

Going back and reading Nanatsu you start getting all the foreshadowing and stuff and little hints about characters and a things that might be wrong.

I WARNeD YA BRO, I WaRNED YA. it's like the last quarter of the manga takes a massive random turn. characters acting out of character. questionable artistic decisions.

i feel that the author knew it was going to get cancelled so he tried to throw in some super serious elements and could not juggle them with finesse. Maybe his editors had a hand in it. This becomes more apparent given the last chapter. it was just....out of nowhere and to this day i'm scratching my head over it.

Ten Count (bl cd)

It just made me want there to be way more Mikami x Shirotani san than Kurose kun. Though I love Kurose kun alot.

Scene when he carried him from the train was really good in this drama cd adapting the first volume.

The Flowers of Evil volume 11 END
xzlb.jpg

Received it yesterday so I got to see the end. I feel like the ending flew over my head, or maybe it was the meaning of the whole story that flew over my head. It was weird, it was interesting, but it also felt a bit pointless at times for me.
The reunion with Nakamura was another weird moment, which I guess it's just what's actually normal for such a tale.
I'm gonna interpret the end as a positive possibility.
That final chapter, seeing shit through Nakamura's eyes, was pretty interesting.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Part 2 was kind of pointless. It was just an extended epilogue in my opinion.

Its a fleeting moment in a person's life of confusion, wanted to feel accepted and validated, etc. The story was really interesting displaying how inexperienced youth act when they can't control their emotions and go to where their desires lead them in conjunction with their environment. I honestly believe Nakamura had a mental condition and needed help while MC just wanted to be different and accepted by someone. The other girl, who honestly turns out to be the most effed up character, goes for the worst due to her wanting to be loved and accepted by MC. Adolescence is an awkward thing.

Chimoguri Ringo to Kingyobachi Otoko 13-21 + Oneshots ENDish

Things like "Wild Blood Divers" and "Melon People" are exactly the kind of bizarre stuff I expect from this series! I'm really looking forward to Shin Chimoguri Ringo starting on the 19th!

Fourteen 1-90

This manga is the most LSD crack shit I've ever tasted. The author is fked in the head. Chicken George is an amazing character. I need more.

Monku no Tsukeyou ga nai Rabukome 01

Average guy has been selected to be a sacrifice to a god. He gets a wish out of it. So he wishes to marry said god. Blush face commence.

Well sure then.

Decided to check out Oku's next series after dropping Gantz right before the end. So far, it's actually more brutal and depressing than Gantz, but I like the quirky choice for the protagonist. Really interested to see if the author has matured at all, feels a bit risky so far. Hopefully it doesn't go the grey morality route.

Dance! Kremlin Palace

Yet another masterpiece by Shintarovsky Kagome in which he accurately divulges some of the USSR's best kept secrets like The Gorbies and how the dead Soviet Revolutionaries lived on as stands for future party apparatchiks. Shine on, Comrades!

Any one here do much reading/buying manga on Kindle? I was thinking of getting one soon and was just curious if it's worth it for manga or light novels (which I noticed there seem to be a lot less of than manga available for it). Also if I should just go with the most basic version since it's the cheapest or if there;s any major benefits to the other versions.

I've been buying Food Wars for my kindle/ipad, works great IMO though I do prefer physical copies when I can afford it.

Still need to finish up on Vol 1 of D-Gray Man.

Have you seen much of the anime?

The manga, in my humble opinion, gets much better into its second half, and the last arc up until Hiatusageddon is one of the greats. I really hope the series is properly ended someday.
