A lot of people were discussing what nintendo would/could announce for their next Direct. So I thought a central place to have this speculation might be appropriate, since we know there are some things nintendo has to discuss (mostly N3DS/Majora's mask) very soon.

Btw, another thing nintendo could do is offer up some more obscure Wii games as downloadable eShop games for 19.99 € - with just upgraded resolution, nothing more.

Games like Rhythm Heaven, world of goo and zack & wiki, warioware: smooth moves would work well as downloadable games for that pricepoint.
It wouldn't attract new customers, but flesh out the schedule a bit imo.

Or Xenoblade.

It may not be obscure, but it's relatively hard to find at a decent price.

They could sell it for $59.99 and I would be happy.

That would be quite a good idea. For 20 bucks/euro i would buy some of the games *cough*metroidprimetrilogyhdplease*cough* and if they added Wii U pro controller support i would be extra happy (i am not going to buy that THING for just Xenoblade).

But there is propably no chance Nintendo would ever drop such a bomb. They would have to deal with all that collateral damage.

EDIT: Although in my wildest dreams i hope for a Bayonetta 1+2 situation with Xenoblade X. Maybe not as a disc game, but a download code for the Wii one.

The only time we had a Direct for the major regions was January 2013.

In 2014 South Korea had a direct and there was none for 2012.

This data means nothing.

I was mostly thinking "games that would not get new versions on Wii U anyways, and would work well as a downloadable title.

I still have hope for a metroid game. And they already fulfilled the xenoblade problem with the upcoming n3DS version.

Would love a new direct but I'm now feeling it won't happen this month. Still I feel like a game is coming in March (Wooly World). There are a lot of Wii U releases and the first half seems to play towards a similar audience.

This is what I need for my Wii U's multiplayer collection to be complete. Tennis or soccer at the least. An HD bundle of the 3DS games would be great.

Aside from the ridiculousness of the third-party games Rhythm Heaven Fever is the perfect downloadable game as the game is made only of 2D art. An HD remake would literally be just increasing the resolution.

I'm fairly certain there's going to be a Direct this week, but I doubt they talk about Wii U at all. It'll be purely new 3DS + 3DS software. Yoshi's Woolly World and Mario Party 10 are probably just going to get release dates by the end of the month either through a random press release (like they did with Yoshi's New Island last year) or at the investor meeting.

It sounds too good to be true, but I hope it's legit. The idea of having playable "lesser known" Nintendo characters is amazing. Maybe Birdo and Bowser Jr. will show up too?

New 3DS announced. Releasing February 27th, 2015
Monster Hunter 4 release date February 27th, 2015
New 3DS MH4 bundle announced for the same day.
Majora's Mask N3DS features discussed.
Majora's Mask announced to release Mid-March.
Xenoblade N3DS trailer. Spring 2015 release date.

No NA Ambassador program.

Direct will be this Thursday.

Yeah I love that idea but it wouldnt make sense to call it DKR, but yeah I really hope it's true, even better if it's a 3DS game and not a WiiU one :p

Yeah that Diddy Kong Racing 2 stuff is tinfoil-hat to the extreme...

...but man, that would be awesome if it were true, it doesn't really seem very farfetched that this is/was happening at some point.

But even if it is, I doubt we hear about it until E3.

Well, you should have title it better, according to people who kept thinking that your title implied that there is direct being confirmed.

"Speculation about Next Direct" title would be better so it wouldn't raise people's hope.

Can we stop with the hint-but-not-hints people keep posting on Twitter, there's a media event this week, the majority of people saying "Direct this week!" or "You'll be happy this week if you're a Nintendo fan" are purely basing shit off the media event.

Majora's Mask 3D footage, perhaps details on the new save system?
Also would be nice to see more footage of the Skull Kid figurine
Thank goodness I woke up early that morning and didn't hesitate to pre-order, I mean my goodness!
