Hahaha, that's great!

The Super Hero Mashers Deadpool figure is great- he's not quite as articulated as a Legends figure, and the sculpt is more cartoony, but I think it works well enough for Deadpool, and it's the only way you can add one to a 6" display without paying a small fortune of a premium. If scale isn't a huge concern, the Select Pool is still available at a lot of places for around retail, he just stands an inch taller than everyone else in a Legends display.

The best Wolverine is the one released for The Wolverine as part of the Marvel Legends line that was exclusive to comic shops and online stores- if you watch them on Amazon, the price fluctuates enough that it goes from grossly overpriced to around retail. They also did an unmasked rerelease as part of the TRU exclusive Days of Future Past wave, but those are really hard to find, and I think the unmasked head looks way worse.

Thanks man, gonna have a search for them

Best sites for figures in the UK?

Especially those SH Figuarts and Hot Toys?

For Hot Toys, you have Forbidden Planet and Zavvi. There are probably places that are a lot better that I just don't know about, though.

Edit: Flintty mentioned collectiblesdirect.co.uk on the first page. They let you pay flexibly.

Edit 2: Bruce Banner is £85... Huh. That's a pretty good price. http://www.collectiblesdirect.co.uk...re-16-bruce-banner-30-cm.html?search=avengers

Are Forbidden Planet reliable with Hot Toys? It always seems they're either overpriced or only available for preorder even if they're already released.

Haven't the foggiest, I've never bought a Hot Toys before. I have seen a few figures sell out online quite fast, but their physical store in London always has a lot of stock when I go.

Yup GotG wave was pretty aweome. I proudly own them all too. I even paid $20 for that iron man which you can get for $7 now :p was worth it at the time though!

I have quite a few Marvel Legends figures, including the entire Guardians of the Galaxy set.

I still can't believe they wasted a slot in this wave for fucking Iron Man. If Rocky and Gamora were better articulated, it'd otherwise be a perfect set though. Star-Lord and Nova are so good, and Groot is probably the coolest BAF since Legends returned.

Kind of the wrong place to post this but still. Anybody know anything about this Krang figure? I'm pretty sure it's not part of Playmates Classics TMNT line. Looks to stand about 10 inches.

For comparison here is PlayMates upcoming Krang. He is about the exact same height as the Donatello from the first image, which is a bummer.

It's a custom. But that Playmates Classics Krang may still be released someday.

Playmates sucks at getting their adult figures to market despite demand. They always sell out, too.

I own the Bebop and Rocksteady as well as the 80s toon turtles.

To say they underproduced these is a drastic understatement.

£85 is amazing for Bruce Banner and I'd be tempted if I hadn't just got a New 3DS. To be honest though, the head sculpt is a bit off putting too.

WRT Forbidden planet, I have used .co.uk (I got Thor 2: Thor figure from there for £150 - he is awesome) but never used .com. Both sites regularly overprice their Hot Toys but they're handy if you want to pre order without paying a deposit - a godsend for reserving figures which might be in short supply.

The indy shops are the best places though, they're much cheaper. Zavvi is great, especially when they have sales and you can usually find a 10% off code. I only ordered from there once though - a MOS Superman for £115 which was a good price in comparison to other sites. Sadly it was a defective figure and got sent back for a refund :(

I collect the 3.75 MU figures with my daughter, no space for the 6 inch ones sadly

I collect Revoltech, Figma and Play arts for myself I would love some hot toys stuff but that's an expensive road to walk down

My condolences... you heard about the big price hike on the 3.75 line? Thankfully the 6" line prices have not raised yet.

3.75 is pretty much dead after the price hike IMO. Sales are going to plummet with those tiny things going for 12.99 MSRP.

Expect to see this at your local stores soon

Yeah, we are 100% complete on MU and make customs for the unreleased figures but with the decline in articulation and hike in price its getting harder to justify.

Although I am in the UK so its always been Expensive compared to US pricing.

Yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

In packaging reveal for the first time today.

That just reminds me that I still kinda want the Superior Spidey figure. That and the upcoming Captain Marvel. Speaking of, is there any more firm release date for that series other than sometime in the next couple months?

It's insane they're hiking the price again, after stripping out almost all of the articulation and softening the sculpts as much as they are this year. Someone posted the SDCC Marvel Hasbro figures panel on youtube last year, and enthusiasm was so dead for the Universe reveals- it was just sad to watch. I'll be surprised if they even keep trying them anymore by the end of the year.

Pre-orders are going up, so it should be very soon. Nothing more specific than that.

Early Feb. First or second week. But I fully expect some B&M stores to start selling them in the later part of this month because shipments are often early.

So, about that Krang figure...

I was researching it more. it's POSSIBLE that it is not a custom but the info is still sketchy right now. Awaiting something more official.

In short: it could be an actual figure releasing. Price is rumored at $100. Here is a painted version.

I'm not a huge Krang fan... but I'll admit this is probably the best version we will ever get if this is real. So I will be buying it.

FINALLY, a proper Spider-Man 2099. I can retire my Spider-Man Origins one now.

I want a ton of those Avengers ones. That new Thor, mmmmmm that's good. I haven't collected seriously since the Sentinel days, but I have been picking up a few of the more recent ones.

Very nice! $100 is a bit pricy for me but I doubt I could resist buying this.

If it is a custom it's pretty slick.

Anyone ever bought bootleg figures?

Looking at a figuart Vegeta, it looks nearly identical. Very tempted.

Yeah, two Neca Street fighter characters and a revoltech Kerberos Panzer Cop.

The paint and plastic are kind of sticky and gummy. The paint app is pretty sloppy and missing in parts. Theres broken hands and loose joints. And they smelled toxic.

Damn these look good

dorksidetoys.com has them too now.

free shipping if you order a case. but you'd get two extra figures.

anti-venom is a poor choice... if this series launched closer to the daredevil netflix show, they should do 2x daredevil instead

i dunno i think i may wait for amazon this time. i can't find a way to get a full set with free shipping and low/no markup.

Why do they sell the toys in bundle like that, can't I just buy individual figure I want?

with marvel legends each series has a build-a-figure; each individual figure comes with parts to build a bonus figure, you need most (sometimes all) of them to build it. so it's popular to sell them bundled.

also, collectors like to buy them bundled because some are much harder to find at retail than others, due to the character's popularity or scalp factor. So if you want to build the build-a-figure, it's a lot easier to just buy them as a lot. Saves time and money (gas) too.

and there's also shipping to consider... it may feel like a waste to pay $8 shipping on one figure at these smaller online shops. but if it's $10 or $12 shipping to buy the set, it may ease you in.

CAN you buy individual figures? Yes but it's going to be more of a crapshoot. Some more luck and planning may be required. For example some of the single figures are already sold out on some stores and only available as a set or case.

Big Bad Toy Store is REALLY bad about overcharging for single figures or not selling the single packed figures invidually. You'll notice some of the figures you can buy indivually are the 2x per case figures. the 1x per case figures are nowhere to be found, although in some cases they will be if they are less desirable figures.

i recommend people look at dorksidetoys or entertainmentearth instead of bigbadtoystore (or wait for amazon/target/toys r us and hope you can order before they go OOS.) at least you can get free shipping and/or no sales tax on those sites. BBTS exploits collectors with higher prices IMO.

Sorry BBTS but you are an online store, thus you are eliminating a lot of overhead traditional stores have to deal with which you don't. You have no excuse to overcharge or not offer special incentives to your customers.

do dorksidetoys or entertainmentearth ship internationally? I'll probably wait for Amazon for this one, don't really care for the build a figure hobgoblin or Odin. Thanos is the one baf I want the most.

is there an estimate when amazon will start selling this wave?

Yes to international shipping but pretty sure free shipping options are only for lower 48 states. if I lived outside the USA i'd try to find a more local dealer... i wouldn't know anything about that though.

amazon sometimes puts the up for pre-order. if i find them i'll be sure to post.

a good trick is to watch this link:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/movers-and-shakers/toys-and-games/ref=zg_bs_tab_t_bsms

Once they are for pre-order they will shoot to the top 100 "movers and shakers" in toys very quickly.

I know a couple local dealer, but like I mentioned before, they usually just coincide with the upcoming movie and once you move past those, it's really hard to find them anymore. missed my chance to get black widow from winter soldier wave and now I can't find it anywhere in my country.

I notice some interesting patterns now that i've been collecting for a while.

Through a combination of luck and good planning I tend to get most of the figures I want. But I often notice that characters that sell out and are hard to find tend to have a period near the end of the wave's lifespan where they are easier to find. Maybe that's just me... but it happens a lot. I'll see figures that people have been crying about not finding suddenly appear on shelves again shortly before the new wave hits. Or they'll go in stock online again after being really hard to find for a long time. Recent example: The GotG figures. Suddenly a ton of them hitting stores around the time the GotG blu-ray hits despite being hard to find before that. It's almost as if they planned it that way D:

But the USA is definitely its own beast when it comes to these sorts of toys. Wouldn't count on it in other places.

I actually bought Starlord from bbts since I couldn't find it in local store anywhere, a month after I bought it, my local store now has a lot of Starlord, :(

Grats on the Superior Spidey and at a bargain price.

I'm still deciding if i'm gonna order the 2015 Spidey wave online or not. Two full waves in one month is pretty ridiculous. Not sure why they aren't spreading them out more.

Because we know that they have at least 2, maybe 3 more Avengers waves to release this year, potentially a second Spider-Man wave, a potential Ant-Man wave, and they're doing something for Secret Wars too. Throw in the multiple three packs, the Guardians of the Galaxy five pack, and all those assorted figures they showed off at comic-con like Magik and Dormammu that don't really fit anywhere above, and it sounds like 2015 is going to be busy- they're probably going to be releasing stuff nonstop all year long.

The timing on the Spider-Man wave is weird though; especially because they still haven't actually revealed the full thing officially- we just have the leaked versions of the Spider-Women and Anti-Venom. I would've guessed they were saving them for Toyfair, and that's next month, but that doesn't make sense if they'll be out this month.

^ Well, I hope all you said is true... because it will be one of the hugest years for ML ever.

2014 was already a strong year, though i think they could have squeezed in another wave.

This has always been a personal favorite Spider-Man figure for me. He's got magnets on his hands and feet and he's very articulate which lets you do all sorts of cool things with him.
