I never even heard of Miracle Rogue until a few weeks ago, and yeah that deck is pretty much dead and I won't be able to afford it so maybe I'll switch over to Pally or Warrior Control, at least make janky versions until I can craft key cards, but really at this point my real plan is to craft key neutral cards that'll fit in most decks, this lets me take care of dailies which fuels more cards :)

If you are aiming to go cheaper, you're headed in the wrong direction. Control decks use cards at 7+ mana as their win condition, and pretty much all the playable cards at that mana cost are legendaries. And Control Warrior is probably the most expensive deck in the meta.

By the very nature of the beast, the cheapest decks are those that have the lowest mana curve.

Finally hit 1000 win reward tonight. Thanks ramp Druid. Didn't touch the class and just built the deck and it's been dominating ranks 20 to 12.

I imagine Cogmaster was designed as a early counter for him, which works well as long as you have a mech in hand to play for turn 2 to buff him if undertaker is dropped turn 1.

This doesn't really work at all. That requires two cards played over two turns to counter a 1 drop. If he plays a taunt or multiple deathrattles, then you've already lost your chance at killing the Undertaker while it's weak, and he's going to just clear your minions with his other minions while the Undertaker snowballs out of control. Even if you coin in Clockwork Gnome, with 1 deathrattle minion, the Undertaker will take out both your Cogmaster and your Clockwork Gnome, and he'll still have whatever other minions he played on turn 2.

so, what is the deal with people that have lethal on a turn playing out every card they have and clearing your minions out? It happens every time and I see no purpose.

I honestly don't understand it. If I can take someone out I end it, why draw it out?

As I stated before its pretty good on turn 1 if you DO NOT have the coin.

1. Turn 1: if you don't have coin you play cogmaster.

2. Opponents turn: Undertaker and he coins and plays whatever deathrattle to buff it.

3. Turn 2: play mechwarper, annoyo tron or whatever and kill undertaker.

Unless they have a 2 dmg spell that costs 1 mana they want to waste on the cogmaster than you're okay. i.e smite, arcane shot, arcane missiles, or a zero mana backstab.

As far as early game goes, I would rather do that than waste an owl on it.

But realistically nobody is going to play undertaker + coin + spinner/leper/clockwork if you already have a cogmaster on the board, unless they're so used to playing on autopilot that they completely ignore what the opponent is doing (viable if you're playing hunter right now). Also, if they play a single clockwork/leper you'll still have to spend 2 mana to kill it next turn unless you want an unfair trade between a 1-drop and a 1-drop with deathrattle. And hunter can possibly play 3 minions on his turn 2, so you probably can't play mechwarper and remove undertaker in one turn, or you can do clockwork gnome + fireblast in which case he's still got one more minion than you do.

It's more viable to just frost bolt the undertaker and try to come back a few turns later with a tinkertown or blastmage, or just play mechwarper assuming the hunter is going to develop the undertaker instead of removing it, in which case you can play chuggas/annoyotrons and race him to the bigger stuff like mechanical yetis and shredders.

Basically, undertaker is a balanced card because it's impossible to have it in your opening hand 100% of the time.

So I just faced a Paladin that healed for 21…

In arena…

At 1-1…

First loss was to an easily 12-win Mage. 2x Flamestrike, 1x Pyro, 1x Fireball, 1x Frostbolt. AT LEAST.

is pyroblast actually good in arena

Theoretically it is pretty good since it's a finisher combo without the combo, so it's nice to have. However, most Arena matches are realistically decided in the first 5 turns, so you can argue that pyroblast is a "win more" card since it's hardly a comeback mechanic. Fireball is definitely better.

It used to be good when arena was much slower but nowadays where everyone drafts low curves and you lose games due to missing a single 2/3-drop it's only a pick when the other epics are pure ass. I've seen multiple desperation Pyroblasts on minions, i.e. shit Mind Controls, but not a single Pyro kill post-GvG.

I beat a mage who showed 4 fireballs and 2 flamestrikes in the top half of his deck in addition to a couple cannons and frostbolts.

lol

Ugh too much aggro now at rank 6. Don't really like playing it but I'm gonna have to swap back to Hunter or Paladin. Ramp Druid just seems to be too slow.

Facing a lot of Hunter. Mage probably second most.

Also running into more kooky decks too. Lost to an Enhance-o-Mechano + Jeeves Huntard.

I guess this is what happens the later the season goes.

Was up at rank 4 earlier in the week but I had some horrible luck.

And I ended up crafting the Black Knight. Been fairly useful so far, won me a game or two. I'm fairly far out from being able to craft a new deck I can't already make though now.

worst deathlord luck na. this priest arena man :l

so I throw down my deathlord on turn 3, my opponent has only played shitty dudes so far so whatever. I throw a pw:s on to cycle for something else to play and keep it out of truesilver/kings range next turn. opponent still has coin and pops kings nad blessing of might on one of his dudes and proceeds to bash in my deathlord, which pops out an argent commander for him to take care of my dark cultist :(

next game, play deathlord against a guy who played a 1 drop and 2 1 drops on turn 2, eventually he wears it down and what does he get? a war golem. I swear to god it had to be the only card that cost over 5 in his entire deck, so he turns around and plays a faceless manipulator on it and never plays another card over the cost of 3 for the rest of the game.

Do some people really get off on being assholes in this game?

Just faced a mage who got a Gallywix off an Unstable Portal, and everytime I played a spell (got nothing else on my hand to deal with the board) he spams "Well played" and "Thank you". Like he had anything to do with that "genius" play besides having a shit ton of luck.

Damn man, the salt is real.

Figures.... I guess I'll just keep spamming undertaker until he gets nerfed :p Yay aggro!

Its the nature of online CCGs. MTGO was a lot worse and in some ways still is with sore players. People like to taunt, puts you on tilt. Or in your case like to bitch and moan in any way they can. I just squelch most of the time.

The VA is so ridiculously smug across the board it's practically begging you to be a dick. Just like asshole minions' like Leper Gnome and Flame Imp summoning lines are engineered to grind your gears as much as possible.

The thing is, this guy/girl was one of the few who are that way. Until now, I have mostly met really nice people. 3-4 of those have actually added me after playing and we have talked a lot since then.

I was just angry in that moment. But that's the way of card games. It's all good now :D

Also, didn't know you could squelch. That would've been nice in that game

I always felt like Annoy-o-tron should be constantly saying "HELLO HELLO HELLO HELLO HELLO" throughout the entire match until it dies, lol.

So I do the right thing by hitting opponents shredder to pop out the minion before I equality/consecrate. What does he get? Lonewalker Cho...

So much this. You get one chance with me, one dickish emote and you're squelched.

I really wish you could turn the emotes off all the time. It's not like the salty gits won't try to add you if you win anyway.
I'm sad the one guy I tried to add wouldn't do it, I just wanted to ask what the last card the guy had was :/

Didn't even know this feature existed. Will be using it from now on.

Some guy just now was doing it to me and I just ignored it. I had a rubbish hand of cards and he was doing quite well, and implying I suck isn't really telling me anything new :p I played until it was obvious I was going to be waiting for a lucky draw from my deck, and conceded at like 18 health. So he wins obviously, but then immediately adds me as a friend (accepted to see what he had to say) and messages me to tell me I suck and asks why I'm an asshole. Like, why go to the effort of that especially when you've won? With such limited interaction (all I did was greet him), I don't know how these people build up that sort of anger.

I've tried to friend people after a game three times bow and never had any accept. I always accept afterwards though if I get an invite. Most are just salty people being dicks, but I've had a couple nice folks. Also had one guy salting all over the place because I over killed him. It's a game yo, calm that shit down.

90% are dicks but you are right. Occasionally you get one that is friendly. Had it happen the other night ended up private matching testing decks for an hour.

Yeah I tried to add a view people who seemed like good sports (who I either beat, or who beat me), but none added me back. I realise now that people might assume I'm only adding them to talk shit or something.

Was only a matter of time for HS to get its first ddos crisis

While the weak link is most likely Skype as always I wouldn't be surprised if IPs were leaked by the client either

I started playing this game a few weeks ago. Love it to death. Finally had the courage to go to the arena. Shit was intense. Every decision is tough. Ended up winning my first game, so at least I won't go three and out.

I don't suppose anyone knows when Naxxramas will go on sale, do they? I'm going to get it, but it feels like a price drop might be coming.

I don't expect a Naxx sale before the next adventure expansion hits but my guess is as good as any

Yeah its always Skype. So the people who are getting ddosed are not protected enough. If this continues online tournaments will probably be pre-recorded.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

opponent drops rag, has a silenced 3/3 belcher and a boom bot

i have kt, and a just rezzed hogger, spellbreaker, and a 1/1 stealth taunt blood imp

bonks the kt with the 3/3 and the boom bot, kills kt, rag kills hogger

Last two Arena games have seen a Dr. Boom and in the second one, a Sneed's that drew an Antonidas. For a Druid. Geez man.

At least the pack had a gold Goblin Blastmage (I have two now, c'mon that nerf).

I love using Well Played in an ironic way.

Or sometimes when I make a big play I say Well Play too just to grind the other person's gears.

Best is when I say Well Played ironically and they say Thank You to it.

My favorite today was a moronic Mech Mage rush down where he got lucky with a bunch of Blastmages, used Unstable Portal got Doom then dropped down Doom, got lucky with his Bots, then turn 8/turn 9 hit Fireballs to face and turn 10 hit Pyroblast to face. I stated Well Played in every one of these plays and he said "Thank you".

Decided to craft my first leg. Went with dr. Boom...it was a decision i fought with alot.

Was hard to decide between it or sylvanas.

Boom + Kel'thuzad = instaconcede.

It's not the Doc, it's the bots. I died horribly to this combo... so I finally crafted DB and started running the pair myself.

Boom needs a nerf.

I actually look forward to assholes - it's remarkably gratifying to "that was a mistake" when they taunt (especially at turn 1 with a well-played/thank you/threaten bit of arrogance), squelch them, then smash their smug fucking face in and taunt back as they explode. Soooooo satisfying.
