Tomb Raider does have a lot of QTE, but it never got to the point of ruining the game for me.

Its always been a game most people seemed to be on the fence about. So now that the game is getting good trailers and TV spots and information coming out leading up to release, more and more people are jumping over.
In this GIF, I noticed that Galahad was using a new weapon during the tunnel section. Goddamn, RaD keep making me surprised time after time.
I think it may just be the revolver from the story trailer.

thats not true....In the recent weeks Sony/Rad finally showed some really good trailers that stress out the horro aspects of this game and the thrilling Story.

I would agree to this only in that particular games threads though. If you go into a thread for a certain game there will obviously be fans.
If these open areas are like all the other showcased so far, I'm not sure they will be as "open" as they seem

I bought DC digitally and it was the 1st game i did that for. The best thing about going digital is not having to swap disc out as its already on the system.
I like going to the store to pick up my games but seriously these guys at gamestop are getting annoying. Always trying to sell me something or get me to preorder "certain" games. I mean REALLY annoying.

We got to see a new character, the old guy (don't remember a name) and we got a first glimpse of of a lycan thats not an elder lycan (the ones that look human like) and the arc gun being used by Galahad. It showed some open areas and more story. Not sure what else we got out of that trailer in that thread besides a tonne of mustachified avatars lol. My guess is that the "conspiracy" will be that the rebels you are fighting will actually be the good guys and that you will end up going against members of the Order.Hmm, they look somehow different imo. Well in their defense we are asked to have our gas push things on people. We don't like doing it as much as you don't like us doing it. Hell right now we have to answer the phone "Thank you for calling game stop where you can get our credit card six months interest free __________ speaking how may I help you?" That is a fucking mouth full.
Oh, that. The SMG was in the first gameplay footage from last February.
That's a big part of why I stopped shopping there when I can avoid it.

I love 3rd person shooters so I'm quite excited to play this. Not sure if I want to shell out $50 for it through Bestbuy though, may just get a month of Gamefly.
Goddamn, Chains of Olympus and Daxter are such great games... But this looks like a hollow piece of spectacle. I always planned on getting this day one but none of the recent footage has established it as anything more than a hardware flex.

Not everything needs to be 'new' and 'revolutionary'. Taking commonly used mechanics and implementing them well can sometimes be enough.
Victorian steam punk London, werewolves, awesome characters and hopefully story, with a good variety of weapons and over the top, super gory, visceral gunplay?
This is why:
RaD has proven themselves to be an amazing developer. That, coupled with the premise which has me absolutely enthralled, means I'm very excited for this game.
Lore? Story? Characters? Unique and visceral weapons?
I'm personally intrigued on how all the aforementioned things will mix together. Hollow? Nah.

People have different tastes. It's that simple.
This is the fourth or fifth one of the "why are people looking forward to this" posts I've seen lately. It contributes nothing and could literally be made in any prerelease thread on GAF.
People are excited because it looks like a TPS with quality gunplay, excellent setting/atmosphere, and is a new IP from a dev with a great track record.
Probably too many cutscenes and cinematic camera angles. Its what ruined max payne 3 for me. Stopped playing midway trough the campaign and the game arguably has the best gunplay ever. Luckily there was a MP and this doesnt have it.
Also been playing tomb raider the last week and the infallible QTEs are by far the worst part.
Bad AI aint a design choice lol but...yeah. That cant be good.
Anyway we dont really know the ratio between gameplay and non gameplay/QTEs and hopefully the AI is good at higher settings. KZ2 was also thought to have poor AI but ended up alright.
Design wise it probably would have been i wise idea to put at least a option for full screen and no black bars no matter if it means the IQ non perfect.

I think this is the revolver as stated by others. Don't think it is a new weapon per se. The explosion was awesome though.
I get the feeling we're not gonna have a lot of those open world London areas as shown in the picture posted recently, which is a shame because I think a little more open-ended levels to hunt lycans in would be much more fun than fighting dudes in corridors.

Man, have you ever seen a game where things seem competently made and everyhting, but it feels like something is missing? I get that from this game.
I'd admit that it does feel too linear and handhold-y for my own tastes, but besides that... I dunno, maybe its just because they've been so mum on the actual story. When you've got a linear game, story usually really drives the gameplay and motivation.
Hrm... maybe its just missing the right hook. So far its simply the anachronism that it's been showcasing, but maybe the right character or story hook could push it over the top. Or maybe the unique weapons will give it some oomph.
Of course, this is simply the impressions from the few trailers. We'll see what the actual game is like.

I just miss the times where atleast the banter was organic and stemmed from the people being generally interested and excited about the discussion, just doesn't happen that oft anymore ;(
I still remember the day i went into gamestop as a young kid when the GC was announced. Chopped it up with the guy for 30 minutes,all pure hype lol

It's a semi-gib. Same destructible thing we saw with the bloke getting his arm blown off I think. But this time we have a nice chunk of midsection missing. And I think a leg.
