Bad game was bad. It was still played by the Japanese at the start but didn't last at all.

MVC2 if released in today's age would've died out pretty fast as well. People have far less tolerance for that type of game these days. MVC3 and Melee are the last of their kind.

Also, Sanford threw his stick again

I was watching a marvel match up close and heard something slam and Big E just grabbing the stick on the ground and hear from someone: "Sanford pulled another Rico Suave"

I couldn't stop laughing, he stormed out the venue from what I heard.

Competitive pre-patch culture games I guess? Where the community embraces everything short of glitches that literally stop/hand you the game.

EDIT: Ehh... I guess Sentinel in Vanilla disqualifies Marvel 3 from that among other things. Yeah I got nothing.

Smash 4 isn't very fun to watch compared to the Melee or 64 streams. Haven't seen any streams playing Brawl. Only been dipping in and out.

I am saying games that don't get patched or supported don't have a long term future in today's environment. Yeah MVC3 did get a couple of patches and an expansion but as soon as the well dried out the interest waned (when interest was really high with these things in play). MVC3 is sort of a game that was half way in between the Melee/MVC2 era of basically no post-release support and the current lots of post release support in fighting games which is why it has stayed afloat for 5+ years.

That said, post release content/support is not enough to keep afloat a game that is genuinely bad or poorly received. A game has to be both received well and get good support for it to be viable in the long term. With the advent of MOBAs, many players simply expect fast balance changes as the NORM.
