Yes, no The Fool figure from the line I collect them, there is however a statue similar in size from another manufacturer that many collectors use to fill the void, I might go that route too eventually.

How does the most douchey stand user not get a proper figure? I started watching the show after seeing that clip of him getting Ora'd into a building. That seems like a crime.

Haha, I hear you, Steely Dan was really a douche and a personal favorite of mine as well, regarding why hasn't he not been released in action figure form I have to guess is because Jojo has so many characters and stands that it takes a long time to release all of them, take for example the line I collect (Medicos Super Action Statatue) they started this line many years ago and it is only now that we are getting Jonathan Joestar, I am optimistic we will see more figures from part 3 down the line.

And from later seasons as well, the line is called "Chara Heroes" and you can still find them in many places like amazon, beware though, prices vary depending on availability, character popularity and demand so getting one might be cheap, getting many can sink your wallet pretty quick.

My god those Chara Heroes figures are awesome. Bishi Iggy, Futurama head Dio, Lisa Lisa are probably my faves. Is that frog punch Zeppeli? Man if I was rich and had the room for that stuff I'd buy them all.

The first half of that episode... absolute insanity. I liked how the battle was resolved, though; it was actually a clever way of handling their situation.

Avdol's best moment all anime. Most hilarious thing Ive seen in JJBA in months and so canonical. Makes me wish he had wrote something like this for joseph and ceasar back in the best arc, it would have been perfect.

More please.

Joesph was amazing in this episode. Ergo this episode was a 10/10, A+ episode.

I feel like Avdol at least should have been able to take care of Mariah pretty easily. If Roy Mustang was around, I feel he would have roasted her in a second. For having pyrokinetic powers, Avdol seems weaker than a lot of "flame users" in fiction. Or maybe its just the writing not letting him do his thing?

Lots of people love them and say they're very good, but I still find them inferior to the source material and/or unnatural. One of the main reasons is probably anime/cartoons are made solely with the original language in mind. The actors are hand picked and are an integral part of the creation of the show.

Dubbing only comes after the fact and has to try to adapt the completed piece of work to another language that has widely different grammar, pace and sayings (especially when the source and target languages are very different ones like Japanese to English/French). Even if you don't have to worry about lipsync the dialogues will still have to be reworked and/or the voice actors will have to adjust their pace to say what needs to be said in the allocated timeslot. Oftentimes pieces of dialogue end up sounding awkward, unnatural or just plain weird. Mind you, I'm not saying that it's bad 100% of the time.

You also have other issues, like some VAs voice acting in a trillion different shows or the similar tone some of them use (my brothers and I call that a "dubber voice", which we find especially wide spread in English->French dubbed movies).

I admit that I haven't watched much anime dubbed in English (I've never watched an entire series dubbed for example) but from what I've seen they suffers from the same issues as French dubs.

And I mean, the actors in the clip posted on the previous page sound as if they're directly reading their text. I just don't find that good.



Yeah that's my position as well basically. Original versions are by far and large better and it's refreshing to hear other languages anyway.

I'm aware of how hard it is to produce good dubs and all the trials and tribulations involved. I'm just saying from my experience enjoying a lot of shows in English and Japanese, watching the same shows in both languages, I think your average dub nowadays do a fine job. Sometimes individual performances may not be up to snuff or a show gets a shitty dub but the opposite (individual performances or shows sound better in English than Japanese) is also true. As such, I understand others have different opinions but I have to give a very critical eye to "all dubs suck" or "this English character sucks - I know even though I can't speak Japanese and thus my ability to judge JP exists but is naturally impaired" type of opinions. That is the main point I wish to make.

Mariah has killed so much of Joseph's pride that not even the Oba-san is going to want him. This shit is fucking hilarious, thank god I'm in the house by myself watching this. And she found out, god damn I'm in tears.

Yeah, there isn't really outright bad anime dubs anymore, all the outright bad dubs are for foreign live action. I remember when Netflix only had the dubbed version of Oldboy for streaming.

Then you'll get the occasional amazing dub like Baccano.

Finished the ep, it was too fucking good. Mariah thought she had everything all worked out, but you just can't beat prep time Joseph Joestar.

heh, my brother was asking why Avdol didn't use Magician's Red more often to stop Mariah or why Joseph didn't use Hermit Purple sooner (though we saw what would have happened to him anyway so he gets a pass).

i dunno what kind of people you have met but i use the 'original language' line for everything and don't break it. when it comes to hollywood stuff (disney fits here), i watch in english (btw, my main language is spanish so english dubs mean nothing for me since it's not my main language and many thing never get dubbed in spanish opposed toe nglish nowadays)

the only time i wanted to watch a native english movie in japanese was when i found out the voide actor for Madao in Gintama also dubs Schwarzenegger action movies. and the reason was mostly to see how hilariously weird it would be but i never got around that since importing a DVD for that was too much.

The only time he could have really got a hit on her was before the screw attack, but at that moment they thought they had the situation under control. how far is his exact range anyway? I forgot about that.
Also, a lot of time it seems like he's reluctant to use his stand because of the collateral damage it leaves in its wake.

Her magnetism would've allowed her to make his Pimp hand be the most magentised part of his body and lots of stuff would be on it.

So I don't understand what was stopping Avdol and Joesph being attracted to each other before.

I mean, Joesph was holding onto the drain supposedly and that stopped him being dragged towards Avdol but Avdol would have just slid towards Joesph.

And come on, if Avdol can attract a whole car with his magnetism then Joesph and he would have been dragged together ages back.
