You seem to be implying only 'silly weaboos' prefer jap. dub over eng. dub. Thats quite silly in its own right... I'm probably in the minority but I hated Xenoblade's dub. I cringed everytime Shulk opened his mouth. Best case scenario we get a dub and original track through DLC. Everybody wins.

You are in the minority. But I'm with you in that minority :)

But yeah the only way we can all win is to have all tracks in the final version like so many amazing games recently -- Bayonetta 2... W101... Fire Emblem Awakening...

A dub only version wouldn't bother me as long as it is well done. Xenoblade's dub was highly regarded, so I imagine if they had that quality again it wouldn't be an issue. However, it likely won't have the allure of British accent since it is in New LA.

Usually I prefer the original language with english subs, whatever the original language is, but it isn't a deal breaker for me if it doesn't come with the original (except in movies).

But I will be honest and say I usually don't like japanese voices because most girls have really acute voices and scream constantly

I'd like to know what Japanese media you've been watching ;)

Dub all the way, particularly in video games where I don't want to have to read everything whilst focusing on the action. I can't even imagine how frustrating soul voice would be with balancing my own artes and positioning and stats and effects and also having to read what my party is saying.

lol the few anime that I tried usually had a bunch of annoying girl and for some reason I think most of the voices don't fit the male characters.

(btw because of a GAF thread I'm watching Parasyte and it is realy good)

I hardly called fans names and you have your opinion that is fine
I rarely like english dub in anything over the original language but Xenoblade was too well done sorry not sure what you are talking about with Shulk

Dubs in anime and dubs in videogames. Live-action I want subs because it'll always look weird with real mouth movements of another language.

Also general audience that if the game wants to be successful the game should court want dubs.

It would be nice for them to take the SE approach and put the sub track up as DLC considering they probably won't be able to fit it on disc.

Nope, nope, nope! I always prefer my native language(Brazilian Portuguese) which usually isn't available in RPG at all. Then my second option is English and only if English isn't available I'll stick with the original dub.

I don't know you guys but I always like to understand what I'm hearing call me lazy whatever, but I prefer to see the whole image than reading subtitles.

PS: I do this only in games/animation. In live action movies I usually prefer the original performance due to lip sync.

I changed my mind, I want the Japanese voices in the west because of Elma <3

her voice is just part of who I see the character as now
just like I hear Naruto in my head when I think of that character or Bart Simpson

it has been over a year of listening to Elma in Japanese it will be hard for me to love her English VA as much

seriously they should have introduced her english voice 6 months ago so at least you can identify it as Elma

This is my thing, as well. I always come to associate the character with the voice, which is why I don't care for dubs if I've started watching something in the original language. Was also what drove me nuts back in the day when the (English) DBZ cast would get switched up. I've also been watching One Piece for over a decade, and knowing that the voice actress for Luffy is now into her sixties, it is my casual fear that the role will out-live her and I'd have to adjust to a new Luffy some day.

But yes, love the portrayal for Elma so far, and she is the main reason I want dual audio. (Maybe do English dub on a second playthrough)

Not to pile on, but not me. Maybe the hardcore Japanese enthusiasts but I'm confident that most people that are going to buy this game in the West, would want an English dub.

That being said, if there wasn't region locks and English subs were an option I would totally import to play it early.

It really depends for me really.

Some stuff I just prefer for subs, like Guilty Gear, others stuff like Cowboy Bebop definitely a situation where I prefer dubs.

If I had to choose between this and Splatoon, I'm afraid Splatoon would have to go. I can't wait for this game.

I think they will find a voice for Luffy the same language is not hard to mimic a voice of a character it is the different language that changes things much more

We are not getting the fantastic UK dub this time, but I also prefer dub over sub.
And im spanish, so i still prefer english voices (wouldnt mind a good spanish dub of course).
And I dont hate japanese voices, in fact the majority of animes I watch them with subs, but the last two Nintendo games that gave me the option, Xenoblade and Wonderful 101, I tried both voice tracks and prefered the british and american voice acting to the japanese ones. It had more character and personality in both.

EDIT
I LOVE british Riki.

The famitsu scan confirmed collection items and collectopaedia. Places you can change in-game time is called "rest spot", like tents or a red bench on a sidewalk.

Always. Maybe it`s because I am used to subtitles when I watch foreign movies and TV series. But I also think that I want the whole original package, so to speak. If the original creators of the game are Japanese, then I want all of that, including the original language, even if I don`t understand what they are saying. A sub is a necessary evil since I`m to lazy to learn the language. Besides, the chance for a Norwegian dub for this game is slim to none...

Xenoblade has one of my fave dubs of a game ever! I love the British cast, they gave teh characters so much personality and there's so many memorable quotes. I'm hesitant to see how NoA handles the dub. Wish they would tease some English voices already. I guess they might be keeping that for E3...

I love this shit except the
black liver bean
spawn rates
those rare spawns suck I spent days looking at the same spot

I pray this game is gonna have a way to scan for items more easily other than 'it might ot might not spawn in a certain area' because I wasted so much time just running from orb to orb with much disappointment when it did not spawn the items I needed for my quests!

Nah. Dub is usually better for anime because of the animations etc, but with video games, 99% of the time it's dub please. Japanese isn't a particularly ugly language, but the voice acting is usually terrible.

Yup, I prefer sub over dub and I saw a lot of russian in the same position as me.
For example, many of them asked how to enable english voices for EU version for Dragon Age inquisition because they disliked the Russian Dub, same for Polish.

My point is that Japanese language has nothing to do with prefering sub over dub.
It's just a matter of prefferences and we're in 2015, this should become normal like when you buy a dvd it can have multiple languages option on it.
Why do we need to have a debate in video gaming everytime we're talking about voice acting ?!

Also, I would rather have more quiclky the game rather havint to wait one more year to have the game because of the dubbing >.>
