A big batch of translated doujinshi got released today (courtesy of Gaku Touhou), including one by Clash House depicting the Gensokyo residents' New Year Eve, and more interestingly, a Gensoukoumuten work about Hatate!
They said they emailed ZUN about this, but I don't think that means this has to go-ahead. The other Kickstarter/IndieGoGo about the... card game? It was taken down and I fear this will happen again.

Just noticed this but yeah, it seems like there's been a lot of drama in regards to this whole thing. Which is a real shame because I was kind of looking forward to it.
Also in other Touhou fighting game related news apparently the roster of 14.5 has been leaked already? Just as a precaution I'm going to spoiler it but basically it seems likeif I'm remembering correctlyit's the entire HM cast, with new characters being Kasen, Shinmyoumaru, Mokou and this new Hanako character
If it's true, then I'm okay with the new additions. Alsosounds interesting, though I'm a bit worried about the kind of fanart that aHanakois going to attract.toilet ghost girl
I've tried it. It is painless, just use PayPal.Does anyone have any experience buying stuff from the JP side of Playism? I was thinking of picking up that Touhou ARPG from there.

Touhou Smash apparently got permission from ZUN, so long as they cancel and refund the IndieGoGo and release the game for free/as donationware in a non-public manner. At least that's what I've gathered from the MotK thread,
Saijee hasn't yet given proper text responses to the numerous concerns brought up in the thread, but we'll see how things go.
Also I beat TD Extra the other day. That stage is such a huge grind, much more so than any of the other Extras I've played.
For me, TD's Extra was significantly more annoying that other games' Extras due to the random bullets often working against me. Other Extra stages tend to be more static. So Extra is easier in other games? I recently arrived at the penultimate spell card after much pain and suffering. It must have taken me around 200 tries to even have the chance to beat spell 7, 9, 10, 11 each in spell practice. What I am most afraid of is the fact that most other games don't have spell practice.

Touhou Smash: Saijee responded to the MotK thread. The drama appears to be wrapping up and normalcy should hopefully resume. There are still a few things that need resolution, such as the handling of perks, but that's another gray area.
But yeah the devs need a PR guy to handle the overseas relations properly.

Lol, I'm 2/142 for that spellcard. It's part of my trance route.Huh, yeah. Even the first mid boss spell card, due to its erratic behavior, is difficult to clear consistently no matter how much easier it has gotten to read the bullets.
Lol, I'm 2/142 for that spellcard. It's part of my trance route.
The second midboss spellcard though. That card has caused many a restart.
I considered trancing the second spell, but the two fairies that drop life & bomb spirits right before the midboss were too lucrative to collect without trance. The way I do it is I capture the first spell, which is 50/50 to 1/4 depending on whether it is a good day or a bad day, trance the arrow ones, and then capture the third one.
YES!!! I beat Ten Desire's extra stage! It was so close too, I had 0 lives and 1 bomb remaining.
Sounds interesting enough. One of the players' gonna be streaming with English commentary here.Mizuumi Kouryuusen: Immaterial and Missing Power 10th anniversary event

It's a side-scrolling platformer RPG. During RPG segments, your max party of 4 has a limited number of attacks, and once they're all used up it swaps to the enemy's turn. In the above pic I only had Marisa, Reimu, and Alice in my party(you obviously acquire more as you delve deeper into the story). The top right corner shows how many moves you have per character. Up being Marisa, left Reimu, and down being Alice.
False Hometown? - NicoNico video - This is basically Valkyrie Profile with a Touhou skin, and given that VP is my favourite JRPG of all time this game makes me 9 kinds of wet. Watch the video and ogle at the sprites, they're so fluid and detailed and the combat looks spectacular. This game has Second Departure as a subtitle because it's a sequel to First Disaster (which I have never heard of).
The game is basically a Valkyrie Profile parody, which is pretty apparent in its original April Fool's video. You have no idea how much I want to play it. Curse the language barrier!
There is a second installment called Second Departure that is in development and should be out soon:
A third (and apparently last) one, titled Third Paradox, is in planning stages.
I remember seeing the right image a while ago so I just assumed it was already released. Good to know I can maybe get it when it comes out. I just ordered this one on a whim when C87 was going on. Got some other stuff too, but nothing else Touhou related with most not exactly Gaf appropriate. I was eyeing that Pokemon styled one too, but decided to just pick one as it was my first time picking up doujin games/manga/etc.
Got a bunch of lewd materials? :3
Can you speak/read Japanese? How are you getting by?
Maybe some...a bit...quite a bit.
I stopped with my JP for a couple months, but I'm restudying it. It would probably be accurate to say that my JP is just barely "good enough" for certain games and doujin, but it's so far away from where I want it to be. Definitely couldn't read a history book for instance.
Has there been any more news about the Touhou fangames that were supposed to be coming to PS4? Seems like there's been nothing for a few months now.
Here's a summary of the timeline:
In Dec 2014, they announced the project has been renamed Play,Doujin!, released PS Vita themes, and announced a 4th title to be ported to PS4: Gensou no Ronde, a Touhou-themed clone of G.rev's danmaku fighting game Senkou no Ronde / Wartech.
They immediately got a complaint from G.rev (maker of Senkou no Ronde). The trouble was settled by ceasing the PC release of Gensou no Ronde while going on with the PS4 port, and by G.rev granting them a license for Senkou no Ronde.
They also did two big interviews about the Play,Doujin! project. I'm still working on summarizing the interviews, but the most important ideas are:
1) they will attempt to acquire licenses for other properties, so they can publish fan games for other IPs;
2) overseas releases are their goal.
The interviews also indicate they revealed the project super-early, and their progress is moving slowly.
The last known status of the four titles are:
Mysterious Gensokyo (PS Vita), a roguelike by Aquastyle: aiming for 2015 release
Genius of Sappheiros (PS Vita), an RPG by Ichigo-bouzu: unknown
Sky Arena: target platform undetermined
Gensou no Ronde (PS4): the furthest along, due to the similarity of PS4 to PC
You can use controllers with touhou games on PC. The other day I used two PS3 controllers to play PoFV with a friend, which was a lot of fun.Ah okay, thanks. I'm hoping that these ports do well, because then there might be a chance that mainline Touhou games make it to Vita and PS4! I think I'd be much better at them with a controller

Is it easier with controllers? I always use keyboard.
I'm a keyboard player as well, but I use AutoHotkey to remap the controls. Movement to ESDF, Shot/Focus/Bomb to JKL. Every other video game uses your left hand for movement, why not Touhou? Is it easier with controllers? I always use keyboard.
The bottom one looks adorable.
I don't know man, I don't trust Remilia

Funny thing I found out. Lyrica's spellcard and the second Primsriver spell card are easier in lunatic than in normal. I wonder if there are other examples of this in the series.
Sure! can't promise when that'll be though.Talking about Panda!Meiling I have to reccomend Bears from Red Shine, it's obscenely cute and nonsensical.
...thinking about it in the last few months I've spent far more time reading doujin works than playing the game themselves, I still have to make a clean 1cc of PCB on hard ;_;
But Monster Hunter is just so good...
upandaway we should totally hunt together when you'll start playing online!
Wow, that changes my perspective a bit. I thought it makes more sense to start small and build on it, but this actually seems a better way to do it (although you have to work a bit harder to do it from hardest to easiest, I feel)ZUN makes Lunatic first, plays it, then works backward for other difficulties.
I think we saw him at work in that one documentary, but he can alter a boss' bullets super easily now.
Thanks to those links, I've started reading Millet Soup doujins.
It's like a hole within another hole.
