Damn, kind of wish my 3DS numbers were higher now, I'm about 80K lower. I didn't think it would get that much of a boost so early in the year. Still a chance I could be close but the GAF agg is usually closer than me.

Of course.
5% of all physical software sales are PC games.
I expect Nintendo to trumpet 3DS sales, and they may feel generous enough to throw in Wii U hardware sales as a YOY increase (if there is one), as well. Someone will probably give PS4 sales (or at least tell us they're #1 console), and maybe Microsoft will give XB1 sales as a MOM gain. I'm hopeful!

The original sentence doesn't differentiate between game software and general-purpose software, and even taking the clarification into account, I don't follow the importance of non-game related sales to a conversation about game sales reporting.

Well, it's $50 *below* the competition, no? I mean, I'm not saying it's going to trump PS4, but if people are looking for a cheaper console that does "basically the same" (yes, I know about hardware differences), I guess XBO is the way to go for them?

there was a survey that came out a few weeks ago about why people bought the consoles they bought. xbox customers mostly bought it because of the xbox brand and features, while ps4 customers bought it because of resolution and game library. price value was not on the list for ps4 or xbox one.

I would say to the uninformed (read: doesn't really know anything about the consoles, period) consumer, that $50 price difference would be significant. But momentum is an important driving force too. For $50, I imagine the difference might not overcome the general view of the PS4 being the popular console. The price difference alone isn't a perception changer.
Yeah despite many people not willing to admit it i think game library is the major reason. There's a narrative that Sony doesn't have big quality exclusive games going, but that's all subjective. What's not subjective is that the game library on the PS4 absolutely dwarfs those of the Wii U and Xbone.
What are the numbers behind the PS4 library dwarfing Wii U/XB1?

Hmm, no pre-NPD announcements by any company thus far...
According to Listwar.com, the PS4 has released 247 digital and retail games, not counting f2p. The Xbox One has released 167 with the same criteria.

Ps4 has a ton of games . The only way to dispute this is to disqualify all types of games ... all types. and yet that's exactly what we see in every thread even mentioning ps4.
including this thread in about 2 hours - almost guaranteed.
